Salmos 58
1 Para o músico chefe. Ao som da música “Não Destruir”. Um poema de David. Do vocês realmente falam a justiça, os silenciosos? Vocês julgam sem culpa, seus filhos de homens?
“To the chief musician Al-tashcheth, by David, a Michtham.” Do you indeed, who are dumb, speak righteously? do ye judge in uprightness, O ye sons of men?
2 No, em seu coração você conspira injustiça. Você mede a violência de suas mãos na terra.
Even in [your] heart ye work injustice: on the earth do ye weigh out the violence of your hands.
3 Os ímpios se desviam do ventre. Eles são traiçoeiros assim que nascem, falando mentiras.
The wicked are estranged [from goodness] from the womb: those who speak lies go astray from their very birth.
4 O veneno deles é como o veneno de uma cobra, como uma cobra surda que pára seus ouvidos,
They have poison like the poison of a serpent: [they are] like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5 que não escuta a voz dos encantadores, por mais habilidoso que seja o encantador.
Which will not hearken to the voice of conjurers, yea, that of the wisest of all charmers.
6 Break seus dentes, Deus, em sua boca. Quebrar os grandes dentes dos jovens leões, Yahweh.
O God, break out their teeth in their mouth: the jaw-teeth of the young lions tear thou out, O Lord.
7 Let eles desaparecem como água que flui para longe. Quando eles desenham o arco, deixem que suas flechas sejam rombas.
Let them melt away as water [which] runneth off: when each one bendeth [his bow to shoot] his arrows, let them be as if cut in pieces.
8 Deixe-os ser como um caracol que derrete e passa, como o nado-morto, que não viu o sol.
As a snail which melteth, let him pass away; like the untimely birth of a woman which hath not seen the sun.
9 Before suas panelas podem sentir o calor dos espinhos, ele varrerá tanto o verde quanto o queimado.
Before your pots can feel the thorns, will he take them away with a whirlwind, both the green and the burning.
10 O justo se regozijará quando vir a vingança. Ele lavará seus pés no sangue dos ímpios,
The righteous will rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he will bathe his steps in the blood of the wicked.
11 para que os homens digam: “Certamente há uma recompensa para os justos”. Certamente existe um Deus que julga a Terra”.
So that a man shall say, Verily fruit will come for the righteous: verily there is a God that judgeth on the earth.
