Salmos 55
1 Para o músico chefe. Em instrumentos de corda. Uma contemplação de David. Listen à minha oração, Deus. Não se esconda da minha súplica.
For the leader. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David. Listen, God, to my prayer. Don’t hide yourself from my pleading.
2 Attend para mim, e me responda. Estou inquieto em minha queixa, e gemer
Hear me, and answer; for bitter is my lament.
3 because da voz do inimigo, por causa da opressão dos ímpios. Pois eles trazem sofrimento para mim. Com raiva, eles guardam rancor contra mim.
I am wild with the noise of the foe, with the clamor of the ungodly; for they hurl disaster upon me, and attack me with fury.
4 Meu coração está gravemente magoado dentro de mim. Os terrores da morte caíram sobre mim.
My heart shudders within me, terrors of deaths press on me,
5 Fearfulness e tremores vieram sobre mim. O horror tem me dominado.
fear and trembling attack me, and horror wraps me round.
6 Eu disse: “Oh, que eu tinha asas como uma pomba! Então eu voaria para longe, e estaria em repouso.
O for the wings of a dove: I would fly away and rest.
7 Behold, então eu vaguearia para bem longe. Eu me alojaria no deserto”. (Selah)
I would wander far away, find refuge in the wilderness. (Selah)
8 “Eu me apressaria para um abrigo do vento tempestuoso e da tempestade”.
I would find myself a shelter from raging wind and tempest.
9 Confuse eles, Senhor, e confundir sua linguagem, pois tenho visto violência e conflitos na cidade.
Confuse them, Lord, upset their plans; for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 Day e à noite eles rondam as suas paredes. Malícia e abuso também estão dentro dela.
By day and by night they make their rounds on the city walls, while within is crime and trouble,
11 Destructive forças estão dentro dela. Ameaças e mentiras não saem de suas ruas.
within is ruin. Her market-place is never free of deceit and tyranny.
12 Pois não foi um inimigo que me insultou, então eu poderia tê-lo suportado. Nem foi ele que me odiou que se levantou contra mim, então eu teria me escondido dele.
The taunts were not those of a foe that I could have borne; the disdain was not that of an enemy I could have shunned them:
13 Mas foi você, um homem como eu, meu companheiro, e meu amigo familiar.
but it was you, my equal, my dear and familiar friend.
14 We levou doce companheirismo juntos. Caminhamos na casa de Deus com companhia.
We used to be so close, together we walked in God’s house with the crowd.
15 Que a morte venha repentinamente sobre eles. Deixe-os descer vivos no Sheol. Pois a maldade está entre eles, em sua morada. (Sheol h7585)
May death suddenly take them, may they go down to Sheol alive, for evil lives in their homes and their hearts. (Sheol h7585)
16 Quanto a mim, vou recorrer a Deus. Yahweh me salvará.
But I will call on God, the Lord will save me.
17 Evening, de manhã, e ao meio-dia, eu gritarei em angústia. Ele vai ouvir minha voz.
Evening and morning and noon I lament and moan. He will hear my voice;
18 Ele resgatou minha alma em paz da batalha que foi contra mim, embora haja muitos que se opõem a mim.
though I am attacked by many he will rescue me, unharmed from the war.
19 God, que é entronizado para sempre, os ouvirá e os responderá. (Selah) Eles nunca mudam e não temam a Deus.
God, who sits on his ancient throne will hear and will humble them, for they never change, they never fear God. (Selah)
20 Ele levanta as mãos contra seus amigos. Ele violou seu convênio.
My friend turned against me, betrayed his word.
21 Sua boca era lisa como manteiga, mas seu coração era a guerra. Suas palavras foram mais suaves que as do petróleo, no entanto, eram espadas desembainhadas.
His mouth was smoother than butter, but war filled his heart. His words were softer than oil, but sharper than swords.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.
23 Mas você, Deus, os trará para o poço da destruição. Homens sedentos de sangue e enganosos não viverão metade de seus dias, mas eu vou confiar em você.
But you, God, will hurl them down to the deepest pit. Bloody and treacherous people will not live out half their days; but I will trust you.
