Salmos 48

1 Uma Canção. Um Salmo dos filhos de Corá. Great é Yahweh, e muito a ser elogiado, na cidade de nosso Deus, em sua montanha sagrada.

“A song and psalm by the sons of Korach.” Great is the Lord, and highly praised in the city of our God, [in] his holy mountain.

2 Beautiful na elevação, a alegria de toda a terra, é o Monte Zion, no lado norte, a cidade do grande Rei.

A beautiful district, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, the farthest north, the city of the great King.

3 God se mostrou em suas cidadelas como um refúgio.

God is become known in her palaces as a defence.

4 Pois, eis que os reis se reuniram, eles passaram juntos.

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they are passed away together.

5 Eles o viram, depois ficaram surpresos. Eles ficaram consternados. Eles se apressaram.

They indeed saw—[and] so they were astonished; they were terrified, they were confounded.

6 Trembling tomou posse deles lá, dor, como de uma mulher em trabalho.

Trembling seized on them there, pain, as on a woman in travail.

7 Com o vento leste, você quebra os navios de Tarshish.

With the east wind thou breakest the ships of Tharshish.

8 As já ouvimos falar, por isso já vimos, na cidade de Yahweh dos Exércitos, na cidade de nosso Deus. Deus o estabelecerá para sempre. (Selah)

As we have heard, so have we seen [it] in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)

9 Nós pensamos em sua bondade amorosa, Deus, no meio do seu templo.

We have reflected on thy kindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 Como é seu nome, Deus, assim é seu elogio até os confins do mundo. Sua mão direita está cheia de retidão.

As thy name is, O God, so is thy praise over the ends of the earth: of righteousness is thy right hand full.

11 Que o Monte Zion fique contente! Que as filhas de Judá se regozijem por causa de seus julgamentos.

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 Walk sobre Zion, e dê a volta a ela. Numere suas torres.

Compass Zion about, and walk round about her; number her towers.

13 Notice seus baluartes. Considere seus palácios, que você pode contar isso para a próxima geração.

Direct your mind to her outer wall, mark carefully her palaces: in order that ye may tell it to the latest generation.

14 Pois este Deus é nosso Deus para todo o sempre. Ele será nosso guia até mesmo até a morte.

For this One is God, our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
