Salmos 2

1 Por que as nações se enfurecem, e os povos conspiram uma coisa vã?

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples imagine a vain thing?

2 Os reis da terra tomam uma posição, e os governantes se aconselham juntos, contra Yahweh, e contra seu Ungido, dizendo,

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],

3 “Vamos romper os laços deles, e lançam suas cordas de nós”.

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 Aquele que se senta nos céus vai rir. O Senhor os terá em desdém.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Então ele falará com eles em sua raiva, e aterrorizá-los em sua ira:

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure:

6 “No entanto, coloquei meu Rei na minha colina sagrada de Sião”.

Yet I have set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 Vou falar sobre o decreto: Yahweh me disse: “Você é meu filho”. Hoje eu me tornei seu pai.

I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Peça-me, e eu darei as nações por sua herança, as partes mais remotas da terra para sua posse.

Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Você deve quebrá-los com uma barra de ferro. Você os despedaçará como um vaso de oleiro”.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10 Agora, portanto, sejam prudentes, seus reis. Sejam instruídos, vocês juízes da Terra.

Now therefore be wise, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Servir Yahweh com medo, e se regozijam com tremor.

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Preste uma sincera homenagem ao Filho, para que ele não se zangue, e pereça no caminho, por sua ira em breve será acesa. Abençoados sejam todos aqueles que se refugiam nele.

Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
