Provérbios 9
1 Wisdom construiu sua casa. Ela esculpiu seus sete pilares.
Wisedome hath built her house, and hewen out her seuen pillars.
2 Ela preparou sua carne. Ela misturou seu vinho. Ela também preparou sua mesa.
She hath killed her vitailes, drawen her wine, and prepared her table.
3 Ela enviou suas donzelas. Ela chora desde os lugares mais altos da cidade:
She hath sent forth her maydens and cryeth vpon the highest places of the citie, saying,
4 “Quem for simples, deixe-o entrar aqui”! Quanto àquele que não compreende, ela lhe diz,
Who so is simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisedome, she sayth,
5 “Venha, coma um pouco do meu pão, Beba um pouco do vinho que eu misturei!
Come, and eate of my meate, and drinke of the wine that I haue drawen.
6 Deixe seus modos simples, e viva. Caminhe no caminho do entendimento”.
Forsake your way, ye foolish, and ye shall liue: and walke in the way of vnderstanding.
7 Aquele que corrige um zombador convida ao insulto. Aquele que reprova um homem perverso convida ao abuso.
He that reproueth a scorner, purchaseth to himselfe shame: and he that rebuketh the wicked, getteth himselfe a blot.
8 Não repreenda um escarnecedor, para que ele não o odeie. Reproduza uma pessoa sábia, e ele o amará.
Rebuke not a scorner, least he hate thee: but rebuke a wise man, and he will loue thee.
9 Instrua uma pessoa sábia, e ele ainda será mais sábio. Ensine uma pessoa justa, e ele aumentará a aprendizagem.
Giue admonition to the wise, and he will be the wiser: teache a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
10 O medo de Yahweh é o começo da sabedoria. O conhecimento do Santo é a compreensão.
The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord, and the knowledge of holy things, is vnderstanding.
11 Pois por mim seus dias serão multiplicados. Os anos de sua vida serão aumentados.
For thy dayes shalbe multiplied by me, and the yeeres of thy life shalbe augmented.
12 Se você é sábio, você é sábio por si mesmo. Se você zombar, só você o suportará.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thy selfe, and if thou be a scorner, thou alone shalt suffer.
13 A mulher tola é barulhenta, indisciplinado, e não sabe nada.
A foolish woman is troublesome: she is ignorant, and knoweth nothing.
14 She senta-se à porta de sua casa, em uma poltrona nos lugares altos da cidade,
But she sitteth at the doore of her house on a seate in the hie places of the citie,
15 para ligar para aqueles que passam por aqui, que seguem em frente em seus caminhos,
To call them that passe by the way, that go right on their way, saying,
16 “Quem for simples, deixe-o virar aqui”. Quanto àquele que não compreende, ela lhe diz,
Who so is simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisedome, shee sayth also,
17 “A água roubada é doce. Os alimentos comidos em segredo são agradáveis”.
Stollen waters are sweete, and hid bread is pleasant.
