Provérbios 20
1 O vinho é um zombador e a cerveja é um brawler. Quem se deixa enganar por eles não é sábio.
Wine is a scorner, strong drink is raging; and whoso erreth thereby is not wise.
2 O terror de um rei é como o rugido de um leão. Aquele que o provoca à raiva perde sua própria vida.
The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion: he that provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
3 É uma honra para um homem manter-se afastado de conflitos, mas todo tolo estará brigando.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife; but every fool rusheth into it.
4 O preguiçoso não vai arar por causa do inverno; portanto, ele deve implorar na colheita, e não ter nada.
The sluggard will not plough by reason of the winter; he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5 O conselho no coração do homem é como águas profundas, mas um homem de entendimento o atrairá para fora.
Counsel in the heart of man is deep water, and a man of understanding draweth it out.
6 Muitos homens afirmam ser homens de amor infalível, mas quem pode encontrar um homem fiel?
Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; but a faithful man who shall find?
7 Um homem justo caminha em integridade. Abençoados são seus filhos depois dele.
The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!
8 Um rei que se senta no trono do julgamento espalha todo o mal com seus olhos.
A king sitting on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9 que pode dizer: “Fiz meu coração puro”. Estou limpo e sem pecado”...
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 Pesos diferentes e medidas diferentes, Ambos são uma abominação para Yahweh.
Divers weights, divers measures, even both of them are abomination to Jehovah.
11 Até mesmo uma criança se dá a conhecer por seus feitos, se seu trabalho é puro, e se é correto.
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12 A orelha auditiva, e o olho vidente, Yahweh fez até mesmo os dois.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them.
13 Não adore dormir, para que você não venha à pobreza. Abra seus olhos, e você ficará satisfeito com o pão.
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, [and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 “Não é bom, não é bom”, diz o comprador; mas quando ele se vai embora, então ele se vangloria.
Bad! bad! saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 Há ouro e abundância de rubis, mas os lábios do conhecimento são uma jóia rara.
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a precious Jewel.
16 Pegue a peça de roupa de alguém que coloca uma garantia para um estranho; e o mantém em penhor por uma mulher desobediente.
Take his garment that is become surety [for] another, and hold him in pledge for strangers.
17 Fraudulent A comida é doce para um homem, mas depois sua boca está cheia de cascalho.
Bread of falsehood is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 Os planos são estabelecidos por conselho; por sábia orientação você faz a guerra!
Plans are established by counsel; and with good advice make war.
19 Aquele que anda por aí como um portador de histórias revela segredos; portanto, não faça companhia àquele que abre bem os lábios.
He that goeth about talebearing revealeth secrets; therefore meddle not with him that openeth his lips.
20 Whoever amaldiçoa seu pai ou sua mãe, sua lâmpada deve ser apagada na escuridão da escuridão.
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.
21 Uma herança adquirida rapidamente no início não serão abençoados no final.
An inheritance obtained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed in the end.
22 Não diga: “Eu vou pagar o mal”. Espere por Yahweh, e ele o salvará.
Say not, I will recompense evil: wait on Jehovah, and he shall save thee.
23 Yahweh detesta pesos diferentes, e escalas desonestas não são agradáveis.
Divers weights are an abomination unto Jehovah; and a false balance is not good.
24 Os passos de um homem são de Yahweh; como então o homem pode entender seu caminho?
The steps of a man are from Jehovah; and how can a man understand his own way?
25 É uma armadilha para um homem fazer uma dedicação precipitada, para depois considerar seus votos.
It is a snare to a man rashly to say, It is hallowed, and after vows to make inquiry.
26 Um rei sábio faz os malvados caírem em si, e aciona a roda debulhadora sobre eles.
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27 O espírito do homem é a lâmpada de Yahweh, procurando em todas as suas partes mais íntimas.
Man's spirit is the lamp of Jehovah, searching all the inner parts of the belly.
28 O amor e a fidelidade mantêm o rei seguro. Seu trono é sustentado pelo amor.
Mercy and truth preserve the king; and he upholdeth his throne by mercy.
29 A glória dos homens jovens é sua força. O esplendor dos homens velhos é seu cabelo grisalho.
The glory of young men is their strength; and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
30 Os golpes de ferida limpam o mal, e espancamentos purgam as partes mais íntimas.
Wounding stripes purge away evil, and strokes [purge] the inner parts of the belly.
