Provérbios 16
1 Os planos do coração pertencem ao homem, mas a resposta da língua é de Yahweh.
The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, [is] from the LORD.
2 Todos os caminhos de um homem estão limpos aos seus próprios olhos, mas Yahweh pesa os motivos.
All the ways of a man [are] clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 Comprometa seus atos com Yahweh, e seus planos serão bem sucedidos.
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 Yahweh fez tudo para seu próprio fim sim, até mesmo os ímpios para o dia do mal.
The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Todo aquele que tem orgulho no coração é uma abominação para Yahweh; certamente não ficarão impunes.
Every one [that is] proud in heart [is] an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 Por misericórdia e verdade a iniqüidade é expiada. Pelo medo de Yahweh, os homens partem do mal.
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD [men] depart from evil.
7 Quando os caminhos de um homem agradam a Yahweh, ele faz com que até seus inimigos fiquem em paz com ele.
When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Melhor é um pouco com retidão, do que grandes receitas com injustiça.
Better [is] a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
9 O coração de um homem planeja seu curso, mas Yahweh dirige seus passos.
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
10 Inspired os julgamentos estão nos lábios do rei. Ele não deve trair sua boca.
A divine sentence [is] in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11 Balanças e escalas honestas são de Yahweh; todos os pesos na bolsa são seu trabalho.
A just weight and balance [are] the LORD’s: all the weights of the bag [are] his work.
12 É uma abominação que os reis façam o mal, para o trono é estabelecido pela retidão.
[It is] an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Lábios justos são o encanto dos reis. Eles valorizam aquele que fala a verdade.
Righteous lips [are] the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 A ira do rei é um mensageiro da morte, mas um homem sábio vai pacificá-lo.
The wrath of a king [is as] messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 À luz do rosto do rei está a vida. Seu favor é como uma nuvem da chuva da primavera.
In the light of the king’s countenance [is] life; and his favour [is] as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 Como é muito melhor obter sabedoria do que ouro! Sim, para obter compreensão é preciso escolher em vez de prata.
How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
17 A auto-estrada dos retos é partir do mal. Aquele que mantém seu caminho preserva sua alma.
The highway of the upright [is] to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 O orgulho vai antes da destruição, e um espírito arrogante antes de uma queda.
Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 É melhor ser de espírito humilde com os pobres, do que dividir o saque com os orgulhosos.
Better [it is to be] of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 Aquele que escuta a Palavra encontra a prosperidade. Quem confia em Yahweh é abençoado.
He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy [is] he.
21 O sábio de coração será chamado prudente. O prazer dos lábios promove a instrução.
The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 O entendimento é uma fonte de vida para quem o tem, mas a punição dos tolos é sua insensatez.
Understanding [is] a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools [is] folly.
23 O coração do sábio instrui sua boca, e acrescenta aprendizado aos seus lábios.
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 As palavras agradáveis são um favo de mel, doce para a alma, e saúde para os ossos.
Pleasant words [are as] an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 Há uma maneira que parece certa para um homem, mas, no final, leva à morte.
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.
26 O apetite do homem trabalhador trabalha para ele, pois sua boca o estimula a continuar.
He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 Um homem inútil inventa travessuras. Seu discurso é como um fogo escaldante.
An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips [there is] as a burning fire.
28 Um homem perverso agita a luta. Um sussurro separa amigos íntimos.
A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 Um homem de violência atrai seu próximo, e o conduz de uma forma que não é boa.
A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way [that is] not good.
30 One que piscam os olhos para conspirar perversidades, aquele que comprime seus lábios, está inclinado para o mal.
He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
31 O cabelo grisalho é uma coroa de glória. Ela é alcançada por uma vida de retidão.
The hoary head [is] a crown of glory, [if] it be found in the way of righteousness.
32 Aquele que é lento para a raiva é melhor do que o poderoso; aquele que governa seu espírito, do que aquele que toma uma cidade.
[He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
33 O lote é lançado para a volta, mas todas as suas decisões são de Yahweh.
The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof [is] of the LORD.
