Provérbios 14
1 Toda mulher sábia constrói sua casa, mas a tola a derruba com suas próprias mãos.
Every wise woman has built her house, And the foolish breaks it down with her hands.
2 Aquele que caminha em sua retidão teme Yahweh, mas aquele que é perverso em seus caminhos o despreza.
Whoever is walking in his uprightness is fearing YHWH, And the perverted is despising Him [in] his ways.
3 A conversa do tolo traz uma vara às suas costas, mas os lábios dos sábios os protegem.
A rod of pride [is] in the mouth of a fool, And the lips of the wise preserve them.
4 Where nenhum boi está, o berço está limpo, mas muito aumento é pela força do boi.
Without oxen a stall [is] clean, And great [is] the increase by the power of the ox.
5 Uma testemunha sincera não mentirá, mas uma falsa testemunha derrama mentiras.
A faithful witness does not lie, And a false witness breathes out lies.
6 Um escarnecedor procura sabedoria e não a encontra, mas o conhecimento chega facilmente a uma pessoa perspicaz.
A scorner has sought wisdom, and it is not, And knowledge [is] easy to the intelligent.
7 Stay longe de um homem insensato, pois você não encontrará conhecimento em seus lábios.
Go from before a foolish man, Or you have not known the lips of knowledge.
8 A sabedoria do prudente é pensar em seu caminho, mas a tolice dos tolos é enganar.
The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way, And the folly of fools [is] deceit.
9 Os tolos zombam de fazer expiação pelos pecados, mas entre os retos há boa vontade.
Fools mock at a guilt-offering, And among the upright—a pleasing thing.
10 O coração conhece sua própria amargura e alegria; ele não as compartilhará com um estranho.
The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not interfere with its joy.
11 A casa dos ímpios será derrubada, mas a tenda dos justos florescerá.
The house of the wicked is destroyed, And the tent of the upright flourishes.
12 Há uma maneira que parece certa para um homem, mas, no final, leva à morte.
There is a way—right before a man, And its latter end [are] ways of death.
13 Mesmo em risos, o coração pode estar triste, e a hilaridade pode acabar em peso.
Even in laughter is the heart pained, And the latter end of joy [is] affliction.
14 Os infiéis serão reembolsados por seus próprios caminhos; Da mesma forma, um bom homem será recompensado por seus caminhos.
The backslider in heart is filled from his ways, And a good man—from his fruits.
15 Um homem simples acredita em tudo, mas o homem prudente considera cuidadosamente seus caminhos.
The simple gives credence to everything, And the prudent attends to his step.
16 A o homem sábio teme e evita o mal, mas o tolo é de cabeça quente e imprudente.
The wise is fearing and turning from evil, And a fool is transgressing and is confident.
17 Aquele que se enfurecer rapidamente cometerá uma loucura, e um homem astuto é odiado.
Whoever is short of temper does folly, And a man of wicked schemes is hated.
18 O simples herdar a loucura, mas os prudentes são coroados de conhecimento.
The simple have inherited folly, And the prudent are crowned [with] knowledge.
19 O mal se curva diante do bem, e os ímpios às portas dos justos.
The evil have bowed down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 A pessoa pobre é evitada até mesmo por seu próprio vizinho, mas a pessoa rica tem muitos amigos.
The poor is hated even of his neighbor, And those loving the rich [are] many.
21 He que despreza os pecados de seu próximo, mas aquele que tem piedade dos pobres é abençoado.
Whoever is despising his neighbor sins, Whoever is favoring the humble, O his blessedness.
22 Eles não se desviam de quem conspira o mal? Mas o amor e a fidelidade pertencem àqueles que planejam o bem.
Do they who are devising evil not err? And kindness and truth [are] to those devising good,
23 Em todo trabalho árduo, há lucro, mas a conversa dos lábios leva apenas à pobreza.
In all labor there is advantage, And a thing of the lips [is] only to want.
24 The a coroa dos sábios é sua riqueza, mas a loucura dos tolos os coroa de loucura.
The crown of the wise is their wealth, The folly of fools [is] folly.
25 Uma testemunha verdadeira salva almas, mas uma falsa testemunha é enganosa.
A true witness is delivering souls, And a deceitful one breathes out lies.
26 No medo de Yahweh é uma fortaleza segura, e ele será um refúgio para seus filhos.
Strong confidence [is] in the fear of YHWH, And there is a refuge to His sons.
27 O medo de Yahweh é uma fonte de vida, transformando as pessoas das armadilhas da morte.
The fear of YHWH [is] a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.
28 Na multidão de pessoas está a glória do rei, mas na falta de pessoas é a destruição do príncipe.
The honor of a king [is] in the multitude of a people, And the ruin of a prince in lack of people.
29 Aquele que é lento para a raiva tem uma grande compreensão, mas aquele que tem um temperamento rápido exibe loucura.
Whoever is slow to anger [is] of great understanding, And whoever is short in temper is exalting folly.
30 A vida do corpo é um coração em paz, mas a inveja apodrece os ossos.
A healed heart [is] life to the flesh, And rottenness to the bones [is] envy.
31 Aquele que oprime os pobres mostra desprezo por seu Criador, mas aquele que é bondoso para com os necessitados o honra.
An oppressor of the poor reproaches his Maker, And whoever is honoring Him Is favoring the needy.
32 O ímpio é derrubado em sua calamidade, mas na morte, o justo tem um refúgio.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness, And the righteous [is] trustful in his death.
33 A sabedoria repousa no coração de quem tem compreensão, e é até dado a conhecer na parte interna dos tolos.
Wisdom rests in the heart of the intelligent. And it is known in the midst of fools.
34 A justiça exalta uma nação, mas o pecado é uma vergonha para qualquer povo.
Righteousness exalts a nation, And the righteousness of peoples [is] a sin-offering.
35 O favor do rei é para um servo que lida sabiamente, mas sua ira é para com aquele que causa vergonha.
The favor of a king [is] to a wise servant, And one causing shame is an object of his wrath!
