Obadias 1
1 A visão de Obadiah. Isto é o que o Senhor Javé diz sobre Edom. Ouvimos notícias de Javé, e um embaixador é enviado entre as nações, dizendo: “Levantem-se, e vamos nos levantar contra ela em batalha”.
The vision of Obdias. Thus says the Lord God to Idumea; I have heard a report from the Lord, and he has sent forth a message to the nations.
2 Eis que eu vos fiz pequenos entre as nações. Vocês são muito desprezados.
Arise you, and let us rise up against her to war.
3 O orgulho de vosso coração vos enganou, vós que habitais nas fendas da rocha, cuja habitação é alta, que diz em seu coração: 'Quem me fará descer ao chão?
Behold, I have made you small amongst the Gentiles: you are greatly dishonoured. The pride of your heart has elated you, dwelling [as you do] in the holes of the rocks, [as one that] exalts his habitation, saying in his heart, Who will bring me down to the ground?
4 Ainda que subais ao alto como a águia, e ainda que vosso ninho esteja colocado entre as estrelas, eu vos farei descer dali”, diz Yahweh.
If you should mount up as the eagle, and if you should make your nest amongst the stars, thence will I bring you down, says the Lord.
5 “Se os ladrões viessem até você, se os ladrões à noite - oh, que desastre espera por você - eles não roubariam apenas até terem o suficiente? Se os vindimadores viessem até você, não deixariam algumas uvas para respigar?
If thieves came in to you, or robbers by night, where would you have been cast away? would they not have stolen [just] enough for themselves? and if grape gatherers went in to you, would they not leave a gleaning?
6 Como Esaú será saqueado! Como seus tesouros escondidos são procurados!
How has Esau been searched out, and [how] have his hidden things been detected?
7 Todos os homens de sua aliança o trouxeram em seu caminho, mesmo até a fronteira. Os homens que estavam em paz com você o enganaram, e prevaleceram contra você. Os amigos que comem seu pão colocam um laço sob você. Não há nele nenhum entendimento”.
They sent you to your coasts: all the men of your covenant have withstood you; your allies have prevailed against you, they have set snares under you: they have no understanding.
8 “Será que naquele dia”, diz Yahweh, “destruirei os sábios de Edom, e o entendimento da montanha de Esaú?
In that day, says the Lord, I will destroy the wise men out of Idumea, and understanding out of the mount of Esau.
9 Seus poderosos homens, Teman, ficarão consternados, até o fim de que todos possam ser cortados da montanha de Esaú pelo abate.
And your warriors from Thaeman shall be dismayed, to the end that man may be cut off from the mount of Esau.
10 Pela violência feita a seu irmão Jacob, a vergonha o cobrirá, e você será cortado para sempre.
Because of the slaughter and the sin [committed against] your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off for ever.
11 No dia em que você ficou do outro lado, no dia em que estranhos levaram sua substância e os estrangeiros entraram em seus portões e lançaram sortes para Jerusalém, até mesmo você era como um deles.
From the day that you stood in opposition [to him], in the days when foreigners were taking captive his forces, and strangers entered into his gates, and cast lots on Jerusalem, you also was as one of them.
12 Mas não despreze seu irmão no dia do seu desastre, e não se alegre com os filhos de Judá no dia de sua destruição. Não fale orgulhosamente no dia do desastre.
And you should not have looked on the day of your brother in the day of strangers; nor should you have rejoiced against the children of Juda in the day of their destruction; neither should you have boasted in the day of [their] affliction.
13 Não entre no portão do meu povo no dia de sua calamidade. Não olhe para a aflição deles no dia de sua calamidade, nem se aproprie de suas riquezas no dia de sua calamidade.
Neither should you have gone into the gates of the people in the day of their troubles; nor yet should you have looked upon their gathering in the day of their destruction, nor should you have attacked their host in the day of their perishing.
14 Não fique na encruzilhada para cortar os seus que escapam. Não entregue aqueles de seus que permanecem no dia de aflição.
Neither should you have stood at the opening of their passages, to destroy utterly those of them that were escaping; neither should you have shut up his fugitives in the day of affliction.
15 Pois o dia de Yahweh está próximo a todas as nações! Como você já fez, será feito a você. Seus atos voltarão sobre sua própria cabeça.
For the day of the Lord is near upon all the Gentiles: as you have done, so shall it be [done] to you: your recompense shall be returned on your [own] head.
16 Pois como vocês beberam na minha montanha sagrada, assim todas as nações beberão continuamente. Sim, elas beberão, engolirão, e serão como se não o tivessem sido.
For as you have drunk upon my holy mountain, [so] shall all the nations drink wine; they shall drink, and go down, and be as if they were not.
17 Mas no Monte Zion, haverá quem escape, e será santo. A casa de Jacó possuirá seus bens.
But on mount Sion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be a sanctuary; and the house of Jacob shall take for an inheritance those that took them for an inheritance.
18 A casa de Jacó será um fogo, a casa de José uma chama, e a casa de Esaú um restolho. Eles arderão entre eles e os devorarão. Não restará nenhum resto para a casa de Esaú”. De fato, Yahweh falou.
And the house of Jacob shall be fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau [shall be] for stubble; and [Israel] shall flame forth against them, and shall devour them, and there shall not be a corn-field [left] to the house of Esau; because the Lord has spoken.
19 Os do Sul possuirão a montanha de Esaú, e os da planície, os filisteus. Eles possuirão o campo de Efraim, e o campo de Samaria. Os de Benjamin possuirão Gilead.
And they [that dwell] in the south shall inherit the mount of Esau, and they in the plain the Philistines: and they shall inherit the mount of Ephraim, and the plain of Samaria, and Benjamin, and the land of Galaad.
20 Os cativos deste exército dos filhos de Israel, que estão entre os cananeus, possuirão até mesmo a Sarepta; e os cativos de Jerusalém, que estão em Sefarade, possuirão as cidades dos Negev.
And this [shall be] the domain of the captivity of the children of Israel, the land of the Chananites as far as Sarepta; and the captives of Jerusalem [shall inherit] as far as Ephratha; they shall inherit the cities of the south.
21 Saviors subirá ao Monte Sião para julgar as montanhas de Esaú, e o reino será de Yahweh.
And they that escape shall come up from mount Sion, to take vengeance on the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.
