Números 32
1 Agora as crianças de Reuben e as crianças de Gad tinham uma grande multidão de animais. Eles viram a terra de Jazer, e a terra de Gilead. Eis que o lugar era um lugar para o gado.
Now the children of Reuben [See, a son!] and the children of Gad [Good fortune] had a very great multitude of livestock. When they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that behold, the place was a place for livestock;
2 Então os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Rúben vieram e falaram a Moisés, e a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e aos príncipes da congregação, dizendo:
the children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] came and spoke to Moses [Drawn out], and to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying,
3 “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, e Beon,
“Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
4 a terra que Yahweh atingiu perante a congregação de Israel, é uma terra para o gado; e seus servos têm gado”.
the land which Adonai struck before the congregation of Israel [God prevails], is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”
5 Eles disseram: “Se achamos favor a seus olhos, que esta terra seja dada a seus servos por uma possessão. Não nos traga sobre o Jordão”.
They said, “If we have found chen ·grace· in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession. Don’t bring us over the Jordan [Descender].”
6 Moisés disse aos filhos de Gad, e aos filhos de Reuben: “Irão seus irmãos à guerra enquanto você se senta aqui?
Moses [Drawn out] said to the children of Gad [Good fortune], and to the children of Reuben [See, a son!], “Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?
7 Por que vocês desencorajam o coração dos filhos de Israel de ir para a terra que Iavé lhes deu?
Why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel [God prevails] from going over into the land which Adonai has given them?
8 Seus pais o fizeram quando os enviei de Kadesh Barnea para ver a terra.
Your fathers did so when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea [Consecrated Son-inconstant] to see the land.
9 Pois quando subiram ao vale de Eshcol e viram a terra, desencorajaram o coração dos filhos de Israel, para que não entrassem na terra que Iavé lhes havia dado.
For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel [God prevails], that they should not go into the land which Adonai had given them.
10 A ira de Javé queimou naquele dia, e ele jurou, dizendo:
Adonai’s anger burned in that day, and he swore, saying,
11 'Certamente nenhum dos homens que subiram do Egito, de vinte anos para cima, verá a terra que jurei a Abraão, a Isaac e a Jacó; porque não me seguiram totalmente,
‘Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt [Abode of slavery], from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham [Father of a multitude], to Isaac [Laughter], and to Jacob [Supplanter]; because they have not wholly followed me,
12 exceto Calebe, filho de Jefoné, o quenizita, e Josué, filho de Num, porque seguiram a Javé completamente'.
except Caleb [Dog] the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua [Yah Salvation] the son of Nun; because they have followed Adonai completely.’
13 A raiva de Javé queimou contra Israel, e ele os fez vagar de um lado para o outro no deserto por quarenta anos, até que toda a geração que tinha feito o mal aos olhos de Javé foi consumida.
Adonai’s anger burned against Israel [God prevails], and he made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in Adonai’s sight, was consumed.
14 “Eis que vocês se levantaram no lugar de seus pais, um aumento de homens pecadores, para aumentar a raiva feroz de Iavé para com Israel.
“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of men who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal·, to increase the fierce anger of Adonai toward Israel [God prevails].
15 Pois se vocês se afastarem dele, ele os deixará mais uma vez no deserto; e vocês destruirão todas essas pessoas”.
For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all these people.”
16 Eles se aproximaram dele e disseram: “Aqui construiremos pastos de ovelhas para nosso gado, e cidades para nossos pequenos;
They came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones;
17 mas nós mesmos estaremos prontos armados para ir diante das crianças de Israel, até trazê-las ao seu lugar”. Nossos pequenos habitarão nas cidades fortificadas por causa dos habitantes da terra.
but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel [God prevails], until we have brought them to their place. Our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 Não voltaremos às nossas casas até que todos os filhos de Israel tenham recebido sua herança.
We will not teshuvah ·completely return· to our houses, until the children of Israel [God prevails] have each inherited their inheritance.
19 Pois não herdaremos com eles do outro lado do Jordão e além, porque nossa herança chegou até nós deste lado do Jordão para o leste”.
For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan [Descender], and forward; because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan [Descender] eastward.”
20 Moisés disse a eles: “Se vocês fizerem isso, se vocês se armarem para ir antes de Yahweh para a guerra,
Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Adonai to the war,
21 e cada um de seus homens armados passará o Jordão antes de Yahweh até que ele tenha expulsado seus inimigos de antes dele,
and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan [Descender] before Adonai, until he has driven out his enemies from before him,
22 e a terra seja subjugada antes de Yahweh; então, depois disso, vocês voltarão, e ficarão livres de obrigações para Yahweh e para Israel. Então esta terra será sua posse antes de Iavé.
and the land is subdued before Adonai; then afterward you shall teshuvah ·completely return·, and be guiltless towards Adonai, and towards Israel [God prevails]; and this land shall be to you for a possession before Adonai.
23 “Mas se você não o fizer, eis que você pecou contra Javé; e esteja certo de que seu pecado o descobrirá.
“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)· against Adonai; and be sure your habitual sin ·missing the mark· will find you out.
24 Construa cidades para seus pequenos, e pregas para suas ovelhas; e faça o que saiu de sua boca”.
Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.”
25 Os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Rúben falaram a Moisés, dizendo: “Seus servos farão o que meu senhor manda”.
The children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying, “Your servants will do as my lord enjoins us.
26 Nossos pequeninos, nossas esposas, nossos rebanhos e todo nosso gado estarão lá nas cidades de Gilead;
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;
27 mas seus servos passarão, todos os homens armados para a guerra, antes de Yahweh para a batalha, como diz meu senhor”.
but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Adonai to battle, as my lord says.”
28 Assim Moisés ordenou a respeito deles a Eleazar, o sacerdote, e a Josué, filho de Freira, e aos chefes de família dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel.
So Moses [Drawn out] enjoined concerning them to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and to Joshua [Yah Salvation] the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails].
29 Moisés lhes disse: “Se os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Rúben passarem com vocês sobre o Jordão, todo homem que estiver armado para lutar diante de Iavé, e a terra for subjugada diante de vocês, então vocês lhes darão a terra de Gilead por uma possessão;
Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “If the children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] will pass with you over the Jordan [Descender], every man who is armed to battle, before Adonai, and the land is subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession;
30 mas se eles não passarem com vocês armados, eles terão possessões entre vocês na terra de Canaã”.
but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan [Humbled].”
31 Os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Reuben responderam, dizendo: “Como Javé disse a seus servos, assim faremos nós”.
The children of Gad [Good fortune] and the children of Reuben [See, a son!] answered, saying, “As Adonai has said to your servants, so will we do.
32 Passaremos armados diante de Javé para a terra de Canaã, e a posse de nossa herança permanecerá conosco além do Jordão”.
We will pass over armed before Adonai into the land of Canaan [Humbled], and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan [Descender].”
33 Moisés deu a eles, mesmo aos filhos de Gade, e aos filhos de Rubem, e à meia tribo de Manassés, filho de José, o reino de Siom, rei dos amorreus, e o reino de Og, rei de Basã; a terra, de acordo com suas cidades e fronteiras, mesmo as cidades da terra ao redor.
Moses [Drawn out] gave to them, even to the children of Gad [Good fortune], and to the children of Reuben [See, a son!], and to the half-tribe of Manasseh [Causing to forget] the son of Joseph [May he add], the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities and borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.
34 Os filhos de Gad construíram Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
The children of Gad [Good fortune] built Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
35 Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
Atrothshophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
36 Beth Nimrah, e Beth Haran: cidades fortificadas e currais para ovelhas.
Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran [Mountaineer]: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.
37 As crianças de Reuben construíram Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
The children of Reuben [See, a son!] built Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
38 Nebo, e Baal Meon, (seus nomes estão sendo mudados), e Sibmah. Eles deram outros nomes às cidades que eles construíram.
Nebo, and Baal Meon, (their names being changed), and Sibmah. They gave other names to the cities which they built.
39 Os filhos de Machir, filho de Manasseh, foram para Gilead, levaram-no e desapossaram os amoritas que estavam lá.
The children of Machir the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget] went to Gilead, took it, and dispossessed the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers] who were therein.
40 Moisés deu Gileade a Machir, o filho de Manassés; e ele viveu lá.
Moses [Drawn out] gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget]; and he lived therein.
41 Jair, o filho de Manasseh, foi e tomou suas aldeias, e as chamou de Havvoth Jair.
Jair the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget] went and took its villages, and called them Havvoth Jair.
42 Nobah foi e tomou Kenath e suas aldeias, e o chamou de Nobah, depois de seu próprio nome.
Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
