Números 24
1 Quando Balaam viu que agradou a Iavé abençoar Israel, ele não foi, como nas outras vezes, para usar a adivinhação, mas colocou seu rosto em direção ao deserto.
When Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to blesse Israel, then he went not, as certaine times before, to set diuinations, but set his face toward the wildernesse.
2 Balaão levantou os olhos e viu Israel habitando de acordo com suas tribos; e o Espírito de Deus veio sobre ele.
And Balaam lift vp his eyes, and looked vpon Israel, which dwelt according to their tribes, and the Spirit of God came vpon him.
3 Ele retomou sua parábola, e disse, “Balaam, o filho de Beor, diz, diz o homem cujos olhos estão abertos;
And he vttered his parable, and sayd, Balaam the sonne of Beor hath sayde, and the man, whose eyes were shut vp, hath sayd,
4 diz ele, quem ouve as palavras de Deus, que vê a visão do Todo-Poderoso, caindo, e com os olhos abertos:
He hath sayde, which heard the wordes of God, and sawe the vision of the Almightie, and falling in a traunce had his eyes opened:
5 Como são boas suas tendas, Jacob, e suas moradias, Israel!
How goodly are thy tentes, O Iaakob, and thine habitations, O Israel!
6 Como vales, eles estão espalhados, como jardins à beira do rio, como aloés que Yahweh plantou, como cedros ao lado das águas.
As the valleis, are they stretched forth, as gardes by the riuers side, as the aloe trees, which the Lord hath planted, as the cedars beside the waters.
7 A água deve fluir de seus baldes. Sua semente deve estar em muitas águas. Seu rei deve ser mais alto que Agag. Seu reino será exaltado.
The water droppeth out of his bucket, and his seede shalbe in many waters, and his king shall be hier then Agag, and his kingdome shall bee exalted.
8 Deus o traz para fora do Egito. Ele tem como que a força do boi selvagem. Ele consumirá as nações que lhe são adversárias, devem quebrar seus ossos em pedaços, e os fura com suas setas.
God brought him out of Egypt: his strength shalbe as an vnicorne: he shall eate the nations his enemies, and bruise their bones, and shoote them through with his arrowes.
9 Ele deitou-se, deitou-se como um leão, como uma leoa; quem o despertará? Todos que o abençoam são abençoados. Todo aquele que te amaldiçoa é amaldiçoado”.
He coucheth and lieth downe as a yong lion, and as a lion: who shall stirre him vp? blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
10 A raiva de Balak queimou contra Balaam, e ele bateu com as mãos juntas. Balak disse a Balaam: “Eu os chamei para amaldiçoar meus inimigos e, eis que vocês os abençoaram completamente estas três vezes.
Then Balak was very angry with Balaam, and smote his handes together: so Balak sayde vnto Balaam, I sent for thee to curse mine enemies, and beholde, thou hast blessed them nowe three times.
11 Portanto, fuja para o seu lugar, agora! Pensei em promovê-lo com grande honra; mas, eis que Yahweh o impediu de honrá-lo”.
Therefore nowe flee vnto thy place: I thought surely to promote thee vnto honour, but loe, the Lord hath kept thee backe from honour.
12 Balaam disse a Balak: “Eu também não disse a seus mensageiros que você me enviou, dizendo:
Then Balaam answered Balak, Tolde I not also thy messengers, which thou sentest vnto me, saying,
13 'Se Balak me desse sua casa cheia de prata e ouro, eu não poderia ir além da palavra de Iavé, para fazer o bem ou o mal da minha própria mente. Eu direi o que Javé diz”?
If Balak would giue me his house ful of siluer and gold, I can not passe the commandement of the Lord, to doe either good or bad of mine owne minde? what the Lord shall commaund, the same will I speake.
14 Agora, eis que eu vou para o meu povo. Vinde, eu vos informarei o que este povo fará ao vosso povo nos últimos dias”.
And nowe behold, I goe vnto my people: come, I will aduertise thee what this people shall doe to thy folke in the later dayes.
15 Ele retomou sua parábola, e disse, “Balaam, o filho de Beor, diz, diz o homem cujos olhos estão abertos;
And he vttered his parable, and sayd, Balaam the sonne of Beor hath sayde, and the man whose eyes were shut vp, hath sayd,
16 ele diz, quem ouve as palavras de Deus, conhece o conhecimento do Altíssimo, e quem vê a visão do Todo-Poderoso, caindo, e com os olhos abertos:
He hath said that heard the words of God, and hath the knowledge of the most High, and sawe the vision of the Almightie, and falling in a traunce had his eyes opened:
17 Eu o vejo, mas não agora. Eu o vejo, mas não perto. Uma estrela sairá de Jacob. Um cetro se levantará de Israel, e deve atacar pelos cantos de Moab, e esmagar todos os filhos de Sheth.
I shall see him, but not nowe: I shall behold him, but not neere: there shall come a starre of Iaakob, and a scepter shall rise of Israel, and shall smite the coastes of Moab, and destroy all the sonnes of Sheth.
18 Edom deve ser uma posse. Seir, seu inimigo, também será uma possessão, enquanto Israel faz valentemente.
And Edom shalbe possessed, and Seir shall be a possession to their enemies: but Israel shall do valiantly.
19 De Jacob, um deve ter domínio, e destruirá o remanescente da cidade”.
He also that shall haue dominion shall bee of Iaakob, and shall destroy the remnant of the citie.
20 Ele olhou para Amalek, e retomou sua parábola, e disse, “Amalek foi a primeira das nações, mas seu último fim chegará à destruição”.
And when he looked on Amalek, he vttered his parable, and sayd, Amalek was the first of the nations: but his latter ende shall come to destruction.
21 Ele olhou para o Kenita, e retomou sua parábola, e disse “Seu lugar de residência é forte. Seu ninho está colocado na rocha.
And he looked on the Kenites, and vttered his parable, and sayde, Strong is thy dwelling place, and put thy nest in the rocke.
22 No entanto, Kain deve ser desperdiçado, até Asshur te levar em cativeiro”.
Neuerthelesse, the Kenite shalbe spoyled vntill Asshur cary thee away captiue.
23 Ele retomou sua parábola, e disse, “Ai de mim, quem viverá quando Deus fizer isso?
Againe he vttered his parable, and sayd, Alas, who shall liue when God doeth this?
24 Mas os navios devem vir da costa do Kittim. Eles afligirão Asshur, e afligirão Eber. Ele também deve chegar à destruição”.
The ships also shall come from the coastes of Chittim, and subdue Asshur, and shall subdue Eber, and he also shall come to destruction.
25 Balaam levantou-se, foi e voltou para sua casa; e Balak também seguiu seu caminho.
Then Balaam rose vp, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.
