Números 22
1 As crianças de Israel viajaram e acamparam nas planícies de Moab, além do Jordão, em Jericó.
And thei yeden forth, and settiden tentis in the feeldi places of Moab, where Jerico is set ouer Jordan.
2 Balak, o filho de Zippor, viu tudo o que Israel tinha feito aos Amoritas.
Forsothe Balach, the sone of Sephor, siy alle thingis whiche Israel hadde do to Ammorrei,
3 Moab tinha muito medo do povo, porque eles eram muitos. Moab estava angustiado por causa dos filhos de Israel.
and that men of Moab `hadden dred Israel, and miyten not bere the assailing of him.
4 Moab disse aos anciãos de Midian: “Agora esta multidão lamberá tudo o que está ao nosso redor, pois o boi lambe a erva do campo”. Balak, o filho de Zippor, era o rei dos Moab naquela época.
And he seide to the grettere men in birthe of Madian, So this puple schal do a wei alle men that dwellen in oure coostis, as an oxe is wont to do awei an eerbe `til to the rootis. Forsothe he, `that is, Balaac, was kyng in that tyme in Moab.
5 Ele enviou mensageiros a Balaão, filho de Beor, a Pethor, que está junto ao rio, à terra dos filhos de seu povo, para chamá-lo, dizendo: “Eis que há um povo que saiu do Egito. Eis que eles cobrem a superfície da terra, e ficam em frente a mim”.
Therfor he sente messangeris to Balaam, the sone of Beor, a fals diuynour, that dwellide on the flood of the lond of the sones of Amon, that thei schulden clepe hym, and schulden seie, Lo! a puple yede out of Egipt, `which puple hilide the face of erthe, and sittith ayens me.
6 Por favor, venha agora e amaldiçoe este povo para mim, pois eles são poderosos demais para mim”. Talvez eu prevaleça, para que possamos golpeá-los e expulsá-los da terra; pois sei que aquele a quem vós abençoais é abençoado, e aquele a quem vós amaldiçoais é amaldiçoado”.
Therfor come thou, and curse this puple, which is strongere than Y, if in ony maner Y may smyte and dryue hym out of my lond; for Y knowe, that he is blissid whom thou blissist, and he is cursid whom thou hast cursid.
7 Os anciãos de Moab e os anciãos de Midian partiram com as recompensas da adivinhação em suas mãos. Eles vieram a Balaão e falaram com ele as palavras de Balak.
The eldere men of Moab and the grettere men in birthe of Madian yeden forth, hauynge in hondis the prijs of fals dyuynyng; and whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, and hadden teld to hym alle the wordis of Balaach, he answeride,
8 Ele disse a eles: “Fiquem aqui esta noite, e eu lhes trarei notícias novamente, pois Yahweh falará comigo”. Os príncipes de Moab ficaram com Balaam.
Dwelle ye here to nyyt, and Y schal answere what euer thing the Lord schal seie to me. Sotheli while thei dwelliden at Balaam, God cam, and seide to hym,
9 Deus veio a Balaão e disse: “Quem são estes homens com você?”.
What wolen these men at thee `to hem silf?
10 Balaão disse a Deus: “Balak, filho de Zippor, rei dos Moab, disse-me:
Balaam answeride, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, kyng of Moabitis, sente to me, and seide, Lo!
11 'Eis que o povo que saiu do Egito cobre a superfície da terra. Agora, venha amaldiçoá-los por mim. Talvez eu seja capaz de lutar contra eles, e os expulse”.
a puple which is gon out of Egipt hilide the face of erthe; come thou, and curse hem, if in ony maner Y may fiyte, and dryue hym awey.
12 Deus disse a Balaam: “Não ireis com eles. Não amaldiçoareis o povo, pois eles são abençoados”.
And God seide to Balaam, Nyle thou go with hem, nether curse thou the puple, for it is blessid.
13 Balaam levantou-se pela manhã e disse aos príncipes de Balak: “Vá para sua terra; pois Javé se recusa a permitir que eu vá com você”.
Which Balaam roos eerli, and seide to the princes, Go ye in to youre lond, for God forbeed me to come with you.
14 Os príncipes de Moab se levantaram, foram a Balak e disseram: “Balaam se recusa a vir conosco”.
The princes turneden ayen, and seiden to Balaach, Balaam nolde come with vs.
15 Balak enviou novamente príncipes, mais e mais honrados do que eles.
Eft Balaach sente many mo and noblere men, than he hadde sent bifore;
16 Eles vieram a Balaão, e lhe disseram: “Balak, o filho de Zippor, diz: 'Por favor, nada o impeça de vir até mim,
whiche seiden, whanne thei hadden come to Balaam, Balaach, the sone of Sephor, seith thus, Tarye thou not to come to me, redi to onoure thee;
17 pois eu o promoverei a uma grande honra, e o que quer que me diga, eu farei”. Por favor, venha portanto, e amaldiçoe este povo por mim”.
and what euer thing thou wolt, Y schal yyue to thee; come thou, and curse this puple.
18 Balaam respondeu aos servos de Balak: “Se Balak me desse sua casa cheia de prata e ouro, não poderia ir além da palavra de Javé meu Deus, para fazer menos ou mais”.
Balaam answeride, Thouy Balaach schal yyue to me his howsful of siluer and of gold, Y schal not mowe chaunge the word of my God, that Y speke ethir more ethir lesse.
19 Agora, portanto, por favor, fique aqui também esta noite, para que eu possa saber o que mais Yahweh falará comigo”.
Y biseche, that ye dwelle here also in this nyyt, that Y may wite what the Lord schal answere eft to me.
20 Deus veio a Balaão à noite, e lhe disse: “Se os homens vieram para chamá-lo, levante-se, vá com eles; mas somente a palavra que eu lhe falo, que você fará”.
Therfor the Lord cam to Balaam in the nyyt, and seide to hym, If these men comen to clepe thee, rise thou, and go with hem, so oneli that thou do that that Y schal comaunde to thee.
21 Balaam levantou-se pela manhã, selou seu burro e foi com os príncipes de Moab.
Balaam roos eerli, and whanne his femal asse was sadelid, he yede forth with hem.
22 A raiva de Deus queimou porque ele foi; e o anjo de Javé se colocou no caminho como um adversário contra ele. Agora ele estava montado em seu burro, e seus dois servos estavam com ele.
And God was wrooth. And the `aungel of the Lord stood in the weie ayens Balam, that sat on the femal asse, and hadde twei children with hym.
23 O burro viu o anjo de Javé parado no caminho, com sua espada desembainhada na mão; e o burro saiu do caminho, e foi para o campo. Balaam bateu no burro, para transformá-lo no caminho.
The femal asse siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, with swerd drawun, and `turnede a wei hir silf fro the weie, and yede bi the feeld. And whanne Balaam beet hir, and wolde lede ayen to the path,
24 Então o anjo de Yahweh ficou em um caminho estreito entre as vinhas, com uma parede deste lado, e uma parede deste lado.
the aungel stood in the streitnessis of twei wallis, with whiche the vyneris weren cumpassid.
25 O burro viu o anjo de Yahweh, empurrou-se para a parede e esmagou o pé de Balaão contra a parede. Ele bateu nela novamente.
And the femal asse siy the aungel, and ioynede hir silf to the wal, and hurtlide the foot of the sittere; and he beet eft `the asse.
26 O anjo de Yahweh foi mais longe, e ficou em um lugar estreito, onde não havia como virar nem para a direita nem para a esquerda.
And neuer the lesse the aungel yede to the streit place, where me `myyte not go out of the weie, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side, and stood ayens hym.
27 O burro viu o anjo de Yahweh, e deitou-se sob Balaam. A raiva de Balaam queimou, e ele bateu no burro com seu cajado.
And whanne the femal asse siy the aungel stondynge, sche felde doun vndir the feet of the sittere, which was wrooth ful greetli, and beet hir sidis with a staaf.
28 Yahweh abriu a boca do burro e disse a Balaam: “O que eu fiz com você, que você me bateu três vezes”?
And the Lord openyde the `mouth of the femal asse, and sche spak, What have Y doon to thee? whi smytist thou me, lo! now the thridde tyme?
29 Balaam disse ao burro: “Porque você zombou de mim, eu gostaria que houvesse uma espada na minha mão, por enquanto eu teria te matado”.
Balaam answeride, For thou hast disserued, and hast scornyd me; Y wolde that Y hadde a swerd to sle thee.
30 O burro disse a Balaam: “Eu não sou seu burro, no qual você cavalgou por toda a sua vida até hoje? Eu já tive o hábito de fazer isso com você”? Ele disse: “Não”.
And the femal asse seide, Whether Y am not thi beeste on which thou were wont to sitte euere til in to this present dai? seie thou, what lijk thing Y dide euere to thee? And he seide, Neuere.
31 Então Javé abriu os olhos de Balaão, e viu o anjo de Javé de pé no caminho, com a espada desembainhada na mão; e abaixou a cabeça e caiu de cara.
Anoon the Lord openyde `the iyen of Balaam, and he siy the aungel stondynge in the weie, holdynge a drawun swerd in the hoond; and Balaam worschipide hym lowli in to erthe.
32 O anjo de Yahweh disse-lhe: “Por que você bateu no seu burro estas três vezes? Eis que eu saí como um adversário, porque seu caminho é perverso diante de mim.
To whom the aungel seide, Whi `betist thou thi femal asse `the thridde tyme? Y cam to be aduersarie to thee, for thi weie is weiward, and contrarye to me;
33 O burro me viu, e virou as costas diante de mim estas três vezes. A menos que ela tivesse se afastado de mim, certamente agora eu teria matado você e a salvado viva”.
and if the femal asse hadde not bowid a wey fro the weie, and youe place to ayenstondere, Y hadde slayn thee, and sche schulde lyue.
34 Balaam disse ao anjo de Yahweh: “Eu pequei, pois não sabia que você estava no caminho contra mim”. Agora, portanto, se isso te desagradar, eu voltarei novamente”.
Balaam seide, Y synnede, not witynge that thou stodist ayens me; and now, if it displesith thee that Y go, Y schal turne ayen.
35 O anjo de Yahweh disse a Balaam: “Vá com os homens; mas você só dirá a palavra que eu lhe falarei”. Então, Balaam foi com os príncipes de Balak.
The aungel seide, Go thou with these men, but be war that thou speke not other thing than Y schal comaunde to thee. Therfor Balaam yede with the princes.
36 Quando Balak soube que Balaam tinha chegado, foi ao seu encontro na cidade de Moab, que fica na fronteira do Arnon, que fica na parte mais alta da fronteira.
And whanne Balaach hadde herde this, he yede out in to the comyng of hym, in the citee of Moabitis, whiche is set in the laste coostis of Arnon.
37 Balak disse a Balaam: “Eu não mandei chamá-lo com sinceridade? Por que você não veio até mim? Não sou realmente capaz de promovê-lo para honrá-lo?”
And he seide to Balaam, Y sente messangeris to clepe thee; whi camest thou not anoon to me? whethir for Y may not yelde meede to thi comyng?
38 Balaam disse a Balak: “Eis que eu vim até você”. Tenho agora algum poder para falar alguma coisa? Falarei a palavra que Deus coloca em minha boca”.
To whom Balaam answeride, Lo! Y am present, whethir Y schal mow speke other thing than that, that God schal putte in my mouth?
39 Balaam foi com Balak, e eles vieram para Kiriath Huzoth.
Therfor thei yeden forth to gidere, and camen in to a citee, which was in the laste coost of `his rewme.
40 Balak sacrificou gado e ovelhas, e enviou para Balaam, e para os príncipes que estavam com ele.
And whanne Balaach hadde slayn scheep and oxun, he sente yiftis to Balaam and the princes that weren with hym.
41 Pela manhã, Balak levou Balaam, e o levou aos lugares altos de Baal; e ele viu de lá parte do povo.
Forsothe whanne the morewtid was maad, Balaach ledde Balaam to the hiye placis of Baal, and he bihelde the laste part of the puple, `that is, al the oost til to the laste part.
