1 O livro da genealogia de Jesus Cristo, o filho de David, o filho de Abraão.

17 Assim, todas as gerações de Abraão a Davi são catorze gerações; de Davi ao exílio à Babilônia, catorze gerações; e do transporte para a Babilônia ao Cristo, catorze gerações.
So in all there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen generations from David to the Babylonian resettlement, and fourteen generations from the Babylonian resettlement to the Christ.

But as he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, Son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary as yoʋr wife, for the child that is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 Ela deve dar à luz um filho. Dareis-lhe o nome de Jesus, pois é ele quem salvará seu povo de seus pecados”.
She will give birth to a son, and yoʋ shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
22 Agora tudo isso aconteceu para que pudesse ser cumprido o que foi dito pelo Senhor através do profeta, dizendo
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
23 “Eis que a virgem deve estar com criança, e deve dar à luz um filho. Eles chamarão seu nome Immanuel”. que é, sendo interpretado, “Deus conosco”.
“Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
24 Joseph surgiu de seu sono, e fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe ordenou, e levou sua esposa para si;

25 e não a conhecia sexualmente até que ela deu à luz seu filho primogênito. Ele lhe deu o nome de Jesus.
