Mateus 5
1 Ao ver as multidões, ele subiu a montanha. Quando ele se sentou, seus discípulos vieram até ele.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain. And when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 Ele abriu sua boca e os ensinou, dizendo,
Then he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 “Abençoados são os pobres de espírito, pois deles é o Reino dos Céus.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Abençoados são aqueles que choram, pois eles devem ser consolados.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Abençoados sejam os gentis, pois eles herdarão a terra.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Abençoados são aqueles que têm fome e sede de retidão, pois devem ser preenchidos.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Abençoados sejam os misericordiosos, pois eles obterão misericórdia.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
8 Abençoados são os puros de coração, pois eles verão Deus.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Abençoados são os pacificadores, pois eles serão chamados filhos de Deus.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10 Abençoados são aqueles que foram perseguidos por causa da justiça, pois deles é o Reino dos Céus.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Abençoado és tu quando as pessoas te reprovam, te perseguem e dizem todo tipo de mal contra ti falsamente, por minha causa.
Blessed are you when others reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
12 Alegrai-vos e exultai, pois grande é a vossa recompensa no céu”. Pois foi assim que eles perseguiram os profetas que foram antes de você.
Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 “Você é o sal da terra, mas se o sal perdeu seu sabor, com o que será salgado? Então é bom para nada, mas para ser lançado fora e pisado sob os pés dos homens.
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt loses its flavor, with what shall it be seasoned? It is no longer fit for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
14 Você é a luz do mundo. Uma cidade localizada em uma colina não pode ser escondida.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden,
15 Você também não acende uma lâmpada e a coloca debaixo de uma cesta de medição, mas em um suporte; e ela brilha para todos os que estão na casa.
nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines for all who are in the house.
16 Mesmo assim, deixe sua luz brilhar diante dos homens, para que eles possam ver suas boas obras e glorificar seu Pai que está no céu.
Let your light shine before others in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
17 “Não pense que eu vim para destruir a lei ou os profetas”. Eu não vim para destruir, mas para cumprir.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
18 Pois com toda certeza, digo-lhes, até que o céu e a terra passem, nem mesmo uma pequena letra ou um pequeno traço de caneta passará de alguma forma da lei, até que todas as coisas sejam cumpridas.
For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or stroke of a letter will by any means pass from the law until all is accomplished.
19 Portanto, quem violar um destes menores mandamentos e ensinar outros a fazê-lo, será chamado menos no Reino dos Céus; mas quem os cumprir e ensinar será chamado grande no Reino dos Céus.
Therefore whoever does away with one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 Pois eu vos digo que, a menos que vossa justiça ultrapasse a dos escribas e fariseus, não há como entrar no Reino dos Céus.
For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
21 “Vocês ouviram que foi dito aos antigos: 'Vocês não matarão;' e 'Quem matar estará em perigo de ser julgado'.
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not murder,’ and, ‘Whoever murders will be subject to judgment.’
22 Mas eu lhes digo que todo aquele que estiver zangado com seu irmão sem uma causa estará em perigo de julgamento. Quem disser a seu irmão, 'Raca!' estará em perigo do conselho. Quem disser: 'Seu tolo!' estará em perigo do fogo da Geena. (Geenna g1067)
But I say to you that everyone who is rashly angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Yoʋ idiot,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. And whoever says, ‘Yoʋ fool,’ will be subject to the fires of hell. (Geenna g1067)
23 “Portanto, se você está oferecendo seu presente no altar, e ali se lembrar que seu irmão tem algo contra você,
So if yoʋ are offering yoʋr gift at the altar and there remember that yoʋr brother has something against yoʋ,
24 deixe seu presente ali diante do altar, e siga seu caminho. Primeiro reconcilie-se com seu irmão e depois venha e ofereça seu presente.
leave yoʋr gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to yoʋr brother, and then come and offer yoʋr gift.
25 Concorde rapidamente com seu adversário enquanto você estiver com ele no caminho; para que talvez o promotor não o entregue ao juiz, e o juiz o entregue ao oficial, e você seja lançado na prisão.
Make friends with yoʋr adversary quickly while yoʋ are on the way with him, lest yoʋr adversary hand yoʋ over to the judge, and the judge hand yoʋ over to the guard, and yoʋ be thrown into prison.
26 Certamente eu lhe digo que você não sairá de lá de forma alguma até que tenha pago o último centavo.
Truly I say to yoʋ, yoʋ will certainly not come out of there until yoʋ have paid the last penny.
27 “Ouvistes que foi dito: 'Não cometereis adultério';
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall not commit adultery.’
28 mas eu vos digo que todos os que olham para uma mulher para cobiçá-la, já cometeram adultério com ela em seu coração.
But I say to you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 Se seu olho direito o faz tropeçar, arranque-o e jogue-o fora de você. Pois é mais proveitoso para você que um de seus membros pereça do que que que todo o seu corpo seja lançado na Geena. (Geenna g1067)
So if yoʋr right eye causes yoʋ to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
30 Se sua mão direita faz com que você tropece, corte-a e jogue-a fora de você. Pois é mais proveitoso para você que um de seus membros pereça do que que que todo o seu corpo seja lançado na Geena. (Geenna g1067)
And if yoʋr right hand causes yoʋ to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from yoʋ. For it is better for yoʋ to have one of yoʋr members perish, than for yoʋr whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
31 “Também foi dito: 'Quem repudiar sua esposa, que lhe dê um escrito de divórcio,'
“It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
32 mas eu lhe digo que quem repudia sua esposa, exceto pela causa da imoralidade sexual, a torna adúltera; e quem se casa com ela quando ela é repudiada comete adultério.
But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, makes her commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
33 “Ouvistes novamente que foi dito aos antigos: 'Não fareis votos falsos, mas cumprireis ao Senhor vossos votos,'
“Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘Yoʋ shall not break an oath, but shall keep yoʋr oaths to the Lord.’
34 mas eu vos digo, não jureis: nem pelo céu, pois é o trono de Deus;
But I say to you, do not swear at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
35 nem pela terra, pois é o escabelo de seus pés; nem por Jerusalém, pois é a cidade do grande Rei.
nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 nem pela cabeça, pois não se pode fazer um cabelo branco ou preto.
Neither shall yoʋ swear by yoʋr head, for yoʋ cannot make one hair white or black.
37 Mas que seu 'Sim' seja 'Sim' e seu 'Não' seja 'Não'. O que quer que seja mais do que isso, é do maligno.
But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No’; for whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
38 “Você já ouviu dizer: 'Um olho por um olho, e um dente por um dente'.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
39 Mas eu lhe digo, não resista a ele que é mau; mas quem lhe bater na bochecha direita, vire-se também para ele.
But I say to you, do not resist one who is evil. Rather, if anyone slaps yoʋ on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 Se alguém lhe processar para tirar-lhe o casaco, deixe-o ter também seu manto.
If anyone wants to sue yoʋ and take away yoʋr tunic, let him have yoʋr cloak also.
41 Quem quer que o obrigue a percorrer uma milha, vá com ele duas.
And if anyone presses yoʋ into service for one mile, go with him two.
42 Dê a ele que lhe pedir, e não afaste aquele que deseja pedir emprestado de você.
Give to everyone who asks of yoʋ, and do not turn away from anyone who wants to borrow from yoʋ.
43 “Você ouviu dizer que foi dito: 'Você amará seu próximo e odiará seu inimigo'.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor and hate yoʋr enemy.’
44 Mas eu vos digo, amai vossos inimigos, abençoai aqueles que vos amaldiçoam, fazei bem àqueles que vos odeiam e rezai por aqueles que vos maltratam e vos perseguem,
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
45 para que sejais filhos de vosso Pai que está nos céus. Pois ele faz seu sol nascer sobre o mal e o bem, e envia chuva sobre os justos e os injustos.
so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 Pois se você ama aqueles que o amam, que recompensa você tem? Nem mesmo os cobradores de impostos fazem o mesmo?
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 Se você só cumprimenta seus amigos, o que mais você faz do que os outros? Nem mesmo os coletores de impostos fazem o mesmo?
And if you greet only your friends, what are you doing that is out of the ordinary? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
48 Portanto, você será perfeito, assim como seu Pai no céu é perfeito.
You therefore shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
