Mateus 16
1 Os fariseus e saduceus vieram, e testando-o, pediram-lhe que lhes mostrasse um sinal do céu.
Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came and tested Jesus by asking Him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 Mas ele lhes respondeu: “Quando é noite, você diz: 'Será bom tempo, pois o céu está vermelho'”.
But He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘The weather will be fair, for the sky is red,’
3 Pela manhã, 'Hoje vai fazer mau tempo, pois o céu está vermelho e ameaçador'. Hipócritas! Vocês sabem discernir a aparência do céu, mas não conseguem discernir os sinais dos tempos!
and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times.
4 Uma geração má e adúltera procura um sinal, e não haverá nenhum sinal dado a ela, exceto o sinal do profeta Jonas”. Ele os deixou e partiu.
A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Then He left them and went away.
5 Os discípulos vieram para o outro lado e se esqueceram de levar pão.
When they crossed to the other side, the disciples forgot to take bread.
6 Jesus disse-lhes: “Tende cuidado e cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e saduceus”.
“Watch out!” Jesus told them. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7 Eles raciocinaram entre si, dizendo: “Nós não trouxemos pão”.
They discussed this among themselves and concluded, “It is because we did not bring any bread.”
8 Jesus, percebendo isso, disse: “Por que vocês raciocinam entre vocês, vocês de pouca fé, porque não trouxeram pão?
Aware of their conversation, Jesus said, “You of little faith, why are you debating among yourselves about having no bread?
9 Você ainda não percebe ou não se lembra dos cinco pães para os cinco mil, e quantas cestas você pegou,
Do you still not understand? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?
10 ou os sete pães para os quatro mil, e quantas cestas você pegou?
Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?
11 Como você não percebe que eu não falei com você a respeito de pão? Mas tenha cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus e saduceus”.
How do you not understand that I was not telling you about bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
12 Então eles entenderam que ele não lhes disse para terem cuidado com o fermento do pão, mas com os ensinamentos dos fariseus e saduceus.
Then they understood that He was not telling them to beware of the leaven used in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 Agora, quando Jesus entrou nas partes de Cesaréia de Filipe, perguntou a seus discípulos, dizendo: “Quem dizem os homens que eu, o Filho do Homem, sou?
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He questioned His disciples: “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 Eles disseram: “Alguns dizem: João Batista, alguns, Elias e outros, Jeremias ou um dos profetas”.
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 Ele disse a eles: “Mas quem você diz que eu sou?”
“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter respondeu: “Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo”.
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus lhe respondeu: “Abençoado sejais vós, Simão Bar Jonas, porque a carne e o sangue não vos revelou isto, mas meu Pai que está nos céus”.
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.
18 Também vos digo que sois Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei minha assembléia, e as portas do Hades não prevalecerão contra ela. (Hadēs g86)
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
19 Eu vos darei as chaves do Reino dos Céus, e tudo o que ligardes na terra terá sido ligado no céu; e tudo o que libertardes na terra terá sido libertado no céu”.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 Então ordenou aos discípulos que não dissessem a ninguém que ele era Jesus, o Cristo”.
Then He admonished the disciples not to tell anyone that He was the Christ.
21 A partir daquele momento, Jesus começou a mostrar a seus discípulos que devia ir a Jerusalém e sofrer muitas coisas dos anciãos, chefes dos sacerdotes e escribas, e ser morto, e ao terceiro dia ser ressuscitado.
From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
22 Peter o tomou de lado e começou a repreendê-lo, dizendo: “Longe de ti, Senhor! Isto nunca será feito a ti”.
Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. “Far be it from You, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to You!”
23 Mas ele se virou e disse a Pedro: “Fique atrás de mim, Satanás! Você é uma pedra de tropeço para mim, pois não está se fixando nas coisas de Deus, mas nas coisas dos homens”.
But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
24 Então Jesus disse a seus discípulos: “Se alguém deseja vir após mim, que se negue a si mesmo, tome sua cruz, e me siga.
Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
25 Pois quem quiser salvar sua vida, perdê-la-á, e quem perder sua vida por minha causa, encontrá-la-á”.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
26 Para que beneficiará um homem se ele ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder sua vida? Ou o que um homem dará em troca de sua vida?
What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 Pois o Filho do Homem virá na glória de seu Pai com seus anjos, e então renderá a todos de acordo com suas obras.
For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.
28 Certamente vos digo que há aqui alguns que não provarão de modo algum a morte até verem o Filho do Homem chegando em seu Reino”.
Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
