Mateus 15
1 Então fariseus e escribas vieram de Jerusalém a Jesus, dizendo:
Then the scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem came to Jesus and said,
2 “Por que seus discípulos desobedecem à tradição dos anciãos? Porque eles não lavam as mãos quando comem pão”.
“Why do yoʋr disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
3 Ele lhes respondeu: “Por que você também desobedece ao mandamento de Deus por causa de sua tradição?
He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 Pois Deus ordenou: 'Honra teu pai e tua mãe' e, 'Aquele que fala mal do pai ou da mãe, que seja condenado à morte'.
For God commanded, ‘Honor yoʋr father and yoʋr mother,’ and, ‘Whoever speaks evil of his father or mother must surely die.’
5 Mas você diz: 'Quem quer que diga a seu pai ou a sua mãe: “Qualquer ajuda que você tenha recebido de mim é um presente dedicado a Deus”,
But you say, ‘If anyone says to his father or mother, “Whatever benefit yoʋ might have received from me is now a gift devoted to God,” then he certainly need not honor his father or his mother.’
6 ele não honrará seu pai ou sua mãe'. Vós tornastes o mandamento de Deus nulo por causa de vossa tradição.
You have nullified the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition.
7 Seus hipócritas! Bem, Isaías profetizou de vocês, dizendo,
Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied rightly about you when he said,
8 'Estas pessoas se aproximam de mim com a boca', e me honram com seus lábios; mas o coração deles está longe de mim.
‘This people draws near to me with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
9 E eles me adoram em vão, ensino como regras doutrinárias feitas pelos homens””.
They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
10 Ele convocou a multidão e disse-lhes: “Ouçam e compreendam”.
Then Jesus called the crowd over and said to them, “Listen and understand:
11 O que entra na boca não contamina o homem; mas o que sai da boca, isso contamina o homem”.
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person; it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”
12 Então os discípulos vieram e lhe disseram: “Você sabe que os fariseus ficaram ofendidos quando ouviram este ditado?
Then his disciples came and said to him, “Do yoʋ know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard what yoʋ said?”
13 Mas ele respondeu: “Toda planta que meu Pai celestial não plantou será arrancada”.
Jesus answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
14 Deixe-as em paz. Eles são os guias cegos dos cegos. Se os cegos guiarem os cegos, ambos cairão em um buraco”.
Leave them be; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit.”
15 Peter respondeu-lhe: “Explique-nos a parábola”.
Then Peter said to him in response, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 Então Jesus disse: “Você também ainda não entendeu?
Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding?
17 Você não entende que o que quer que entre na boca passa para a barriga e depois sai do corpo?
Do you not yet understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled into the latrine?
18 Mas as coisas que saem da boca saem do coração, e contaminam o homem.
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these defile a person.
19 Pois do coração saem os maus pensamentos, assassinatos, adultérios, pecados sexuais, furtos, falsos testemunhos e blasfêmias.
For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false testimony, and slander.
20 Estas são as coisas que contaminam o homem; mas comer com as mãos não lavadas não contamina o homem”.
These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a person.”
21 Jesus saiu de lá e retirou-se para a região de Tyre e Sidon.
Then Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.
22 Eis que uma mulher cananéia saiu dessas fronteiras e gritou, dizendo: “Tem piedade de mim, Senhor, filho de Davi! Minha filha está gravemente possuída por um demônio”!
And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came and cried out to him, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 Mas ele não lhe respondeu uma palavra. Seus discípulos vieram e imploraram-lhe, dizendo: “Manda-a embora; pois ela chora atrás de nós”.
But he did not respond to her at all. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”
24 Mas ele respondeu: “Eu não fui enviado a ninguém além das ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel”.
In response Jesus said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Mas ela veio e o adorou, dizendo: “Senhor, ajuda-me”.
But she came and bowed down before him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
26 Mas ele respondeu: “Não é apropriado pegar o pão das crianças e jogá-lo para os cães”.
He replied, “It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.”
27 Mas ela disse: “Sim, Senhor, mas até os cães comem as migalhas que caem da mesa de seus donos”.
She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.”
28 Então Jesus lhe respondeu: “Mulher, grande é a tua fé! Seja feita a você mesmo como você deseja”. E sua filha foi curada a partir daquela hora.
Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is yoʋr faith; it will be done for yoʋ as yoʋ wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
29 Jesus partiu dali e chegou perto do mar da Galiléia; e subiu a montanha e sentou-se ali.
Departing from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on the mountain and sat down.
30 Grandes multidões vieram até ele, tendo com eles os coxos, cegos, mudos, mutilados e muitos outros, e os colocaram a seus pés. Ele os curou,
Large crowds came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, crippled, and many others. They put them at the feet of Jesus, and he healed them.
31 de modo que a multidão se perguntava quando viam o mudo falando, o ferido curado, o coxo andando e o cego vendo - e eles glorificavam o Deus de Israel.
So the crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Jesus convocou seus discípulos e disse: “Tenho compaixão da multidão, porque eles continuaram comigo agora por três dias e não têm nada para comer”. Não quero mandá-los embora em jejum, ou eles podem desmaiar no caminho”.
Then Jesus called his disciples over and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have stayed with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away without having eaten, lest they faint on the way.”
33 Os discípulos lhe disseram: “Onde poderíamos conseguir tantos pães num lugar deserto para satisfazer uma multidão tão grande”?
His disciples said to him, “Where can we get so many loaves in such a desolate place to fill such a large crowd?”
34 Jesus disse a eles: “Quantos pães vocês têm”? Eles disseram: “Sete, e alguns peixes pequenos”.
Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
35 Ele ordenou à multidão que se sentasse no chão;
So he commanded the crowds to sit down on the ground,
36 e levou os sete pães e o peixe. Ele deu graças e os quebrou, e deu aos discípulos, e os discípulos às multidões.
and taking the seven loaves and the fish, he gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to his disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowd.
37 Todos eles comeram e se encheram. Pegaram sete cestas cheias dos pedaços que sobravam.
They all ate and were filled, and the disciples picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full.
38 Os que comeram foram quatro mil homens, além de mulheres e crianças.
Besides women and children, there were four thousand men who had eaten.
39 Então ele mandou embora as multidões, entrou no barco, e entrou nas fronteiras de Magdala.
After sending the crowds away, Jesus got into the boat and went to the region of Magdala.
