Lucas 3
1 Agora no décimo quinto ano do reinado de Tibério César, sendo Pôncio Pilatos governador da Judéia, e Herodes tetrarca da Galiléia, e seu irmão Filipe tetrarca da região de Ituraea e Traconite, e Lisanias tetrarca de Abilene,
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanius the tetrarch of Abilene,
2 durante o sumo sacerdócio de Anás e Caifás, a palavra de Deus veio a João, o filho de Zacarias, no deserto.
Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
3 Ele veio a toda a região ao redor do Jordão, pregando o batismo de arrependimento para a remissão dos pecados.
And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins;
4 Como está escrito no livro das palavras de Isaías, o profeta, “A voz de um que chora no deserto”, “Preparai o caminho do Senhor”. Faça seus caminhos retos.
As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5 Todos os vales serão preenchidos. Todas as montanhas e colinas serão baixadas. O tortuoso se tornará reto, e as formas ásperas de suavidade.
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways [shall be] made smooth;
6 Toda a carne verá a salvação de Deus””.
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
7 Ele disse portanto às multidões que saíram para serem batizadas por ele: “Filhos de víboras, que vos avisaram para fugir da ira vindoura?
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized by him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Portanto, produzam frutos dignos de arrependimento, e não comecem a dizer entre vós: 'Temos Abraão para nosso pai'; pois eu vos digo que Deus é capaz de criar filhos para Abraão a partir destas pedras!
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for [our] father: for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
9 Mesmo agora o machado também está na raiz das árvores. Toda árvore, portanto, que não produz bons frutos, é cortada e jogada no fogo”.
And now also the ax is laid to the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
10 As multidões lhe perguntaram: “O que então devemos fazer”?
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
11 Ele lhes respondeu: “Aquele que tem duas demãos, deixe-o dar a ele que não tem nenhuma”. Aquele que tem comida, deixe-o fazer o mesmo”.
He answereth and saith to them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath provisions, let him do likewise.
12 Os cobradores de impostos também vieram para serem batizados e lhe disseram: “Professor, o que devemos fazer”?
Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said to him, Master, what shall we do?
13 Ele disse a eles: “Não colete mais do que o que lhe for designado”.
And he said to them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
14 Soldados também lhe perguntaram, dizendo: “E nós? O que devemos fazer”? Ele disse a eles: “Extorquir de ninguém pela violência, nem acusar ninguém injustamente”. Contente-se com seu salário”.
And the soldiers likewise asked him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said to them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse [any] falsely, and be content with your wages.
15 Enquanto o povo estava na expectativa, e todos os homens raciocinavam em seus corações a respeito de João, se talvez ele fosse o Cristo,
And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts concerning John, whether he was the Christ, or not;
16 João respondeu a todos eles: “Eu de fato vos batizo com água, mas vem aquele que é mais poderoso do que eu, a correia de cujas sandálias eu não sou digno de soltar. Ele vos batizará no Espírito Santo e no fogo”.
John answered, saying to [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:
17 Seu ventilador de neve está em sua mão, e ele limpará completamente sua eira, e recolherá o trigo em seu celeiro; mas queimará o joio com fogo insaciável”.
Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather the wheat into his granary; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
18 Então, com muitas outras exortações, ele pregou boas novas ao povo,
And many other things in his exhortation he preached to the people.
19 mas Herodes, o tetrarca, sendo repreendido por ele por Herodíades, a esposa de seu irmão, e por todas as coisas más que Herodes tinha feito,
But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,
20 acrescentou isto também a todos eles, que ele calou João na prisão.
Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.
21 Agora quando todo o povo foi batizado, Jesus também havia sido batizado e estava orando. O céu foi aberto,
Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
22 e o Espírito Santo desceu em forma corpórea como uma pomba sobre ele; e uma voz saiu do céu, dizendo “Tu és meu Filho amado”. Em ti estou bem contente”.
And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
23 O próprio Jesus, quando começou a ensinar, tinha cerca de trinta anos, sendo o filho (como era suposto) de José, o filho de Heli,
And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, who was [the son] of Heli,
24 o filho de Matthat, o filho de Levi, o filho de Melchi, o filho de Jannai, o filho de José,
Who was [the son] of Matthat, who was [the son] of Levi, who was [the son] of Melchi, who was [the son] of Janna, who was [the son] of Joseph,
25 o filho de Mattathias, o filho de Amos, o filho de Nahum, o filho de Esli, o filho de Naggai,
Who was [the son] of Mattathias, who was [the son] of Amos, who was [the son] of Naum, who was [the son] of Esli, who was [the son] of Nagge,
26 o filho de Maath, o filho de Mattathias, o filho de Semein, o filho de José, o filho de Judá,
Who was [the son] of Maath, who was [the son] of Mattathias, who was [the son] of Semei, who was [the son] of Joseph, who was [the son] of Juda,
27 o filho de Joanã, o filho de Rhesa, o filho de Zerubbabel, o filho de Shealtiel, o filho de Neri,
Who was [the son] of Joanna, who was [the son] of Rhesa, who was [the son] of Zorobabel, who was [the son] of Salathiel, who was [the son] of Neri,
28 o filho de Melchi, o filho de Addi, o filho de Cosam, o filho de Elmodam, o filho de Er,
Who was [the son] of Melchi, who was [the son] of Addi, who was [the son] of Cosam, who was [the son] of Elmodam, who was [the son] of Er,
29 o filho de José, o filho de Eliezer, o filho de Jorim, o filho de Matthat, o filho de Levi,
Who was [the son] of Jose, who was [the son] of Eliezer, who was [the son] of Jorim, who was [the son] of Matthat, who was [the son] of Levi,
30 o filho de Simeão, o filho de Judá, o filho de José, o filho de Jonan, o filho de Eliakim,
Who was [the son] of Simeon, who was [the son] of Judah, who was [the son] of Joseph, who was [the son] of Jonan, who was [the son] of Eliakim,
31 o filho de Melea, o filho de Menan, o filho de Mattatha, o filho de Nathan, o filho de David,
Who was [the son] of Melea, who was [the son] of Menan, who was [the son] of Mattatha, who was [the son] of Nathan, who was [the son] of David,
32 o filho de Jesse, o filho de Obed, o filho de Boaz, o filho de Salmon, o filho de Nahshon,
Who was [the son] of Jesse, who was [the son] of Obed, who was [the son] of Booz, who was [the son] of Salmon, who was [the son] of Naasson,
33 o filho de Amminadab, o filho de Aram, o filho de Hezron, o filho de Perez, o filho de Judá,
Who was [the son] of Aminadab, who was [the son] of Aram, who was [the son] of Esrom, who was [the son] of Phares, who was [the son] of Judah,
34 o filho de Jacob, o filho de Isaac, o filho de Abraão, o filho de Terah, o filho de Nahor,
Who was [the son] of Jacob, who was [the son] of Isaac, who was [the son] of Abraham, who was [the son] of Terah, who was [the son] of Nahor,
35 o filho de Serug, o filho de Reu, o filho de Peleg, o filho de Eber, o filho de Shelah,
Who was [the son] of Serug, who was [the son] of Reu, who was [the son] of Peleg, who was [the son] of Heber, who was [the son] of Sala,
36 o filho de Cainan, o filho de Arphaxad, o filho de Shem, o filho de Noé, o filho de Lamech,
Who was [the son] of Cainan, who was [the son] of Arphaxad, who was [the son] of Shem, who was [the son] of Noah, who was [the son] of Lamech,
37 o filho de Matusalém, o filho de Enoque, o filho de Jared, o filho de Mahalaleel, o filho de Cainan,
Who was [the son] of Methuselah, who was [the son] of Enoch, who was [the son] of Jared, who was [the son] of Maleleel, who was [the son] of Cainan,
38 o filho de Enos, o filho de Seth, o filho de Adão, o filho de Deus.
Who was [the son] of Enos, who was [the son] of Seth, who was [the son] of Adam, who was [the son] of God.
