Josué 22
1 Então Josué chamou os rubenitas, os gaditas e a meia tribo de Manassés,
Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
2 e disse-lhes: “Vocês guardaram tudo o que Moisés, servo de Javé, lhes ordenou, e escutaram minha voz em tudo o que eu lhes ordenei.
and said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, and have hearkened to my voice in all that I commanded you.
3 Vocês não deixaram seus irmãos até hoje, mas cumpriram o dever do mandamento de Javé, vosso Deus.
Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, and ye have kept the charge of the commandment of Jehovah your God.
4 Agora Yahweh seu Deus deu descanso a seus irmãos, enquanto falava com eles. Agora, pois, voltai e ide para vossas tendas, para a terra de vossa posse, que Moisés, servo de Javé, vos deu além do Jordão.
And now Jehovah your God hath given rest to your brethren, as he said unto them; and now return, and get you unto your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan.
5 Somente tome cuidado para cumprir o mandamento e a lei que Moisés, servo de Javé, lhe ordenou, para amar a Javé seu Deus, para andar em todos os seus caminhos, para guardar seus mandamentos, para se apegar a ele e para servi-lo com todo o seu coração e com toda a sua alma”.
Only, take great heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
6 Então Josué os abençoou e os mandou embora; e eles foram para suas tendas.
And Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents.
7 Agora para a meia tribo de Manassés Moisés havia dado herança em Basã; mas Josué deu à outra metade entre seus irmãos além do Jordão para o oeste. Além disso, quando Josué os enviou para suas tendas, ele os abençoou,
And to half the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given [inheritance] in Bashan, and to the other half thereof had Joshua given among their brethren on this side the Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them also,
8 e falou com eles, dizendo: “Voltem com muita riqueza para suas tendas, com muito gado, com muita prata, com ouro, com bronze, com ferro, e com muita roupa. Dividam o saque de seus inimigos com seus irmãos”.
and spoke to them, saying, Return unto your tents with much wealth and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with copper, and with iron, and with clothing, in very great quantity; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
9 Os filhos de Rubem e os filhos de Gad e a meia tribo de Manassés voltaram, e partiram dos filhos de Israel para fora de Shiloh, que está na terra de Canaã, para irem para a terra de Gilead, para a terra de sua posse, que eles possuíam, de acordo com o mandamento de Yahweh por Moisés.
And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the country of Gilead, into the land of their possession, of which they had become possessed, according to the word of Jehovah through Moses.
10 Quando chegaram à região próxima ao Jordão, que está na terra de Canaã, os filhos de Rúben e os filhos de Gad e a meia tribo de Manassés construíram ali um altar junto ao Jordão, um grande altar para se olhar.
And they came to the districts of the Jordan that are in the land of Canaan; and the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, an altar of grand appearance.
11 Os filhos de Israel ouviram isto: “Eis que os filhos de Rúben e os filhos de Gad e a meia tribo de Manassés construíram um altar ao longo da fronteira da terra de Canaã, na região ao redor do Jordão, no lado que pertence aos filhos de Israel”.
And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the districts of the Jordan, separately from the children of Israel.
12 Quando os filhos de Israel ouviram falar disso, toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel se reuniu em Shiloh, para ir contra eles para a guerra.
And when the children of Israel heard [of it], the whole assembly of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.
13 Os filhos de Israel enviaram aos filhos de Rúben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manassés, para a terra de Gileade, Finéias, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote.
And the children of Israel sent to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
14 Com ele estavam dez príncipes, um príncipe da casa de seus pais para cada uma das tribos de Israel; e cada um deles era chefe da casa de seus pais entre os milhares de Israel.
and with him ten princes, of each father's house a prince, out of all the tribes of Israel; and each of them was head of a father's house, of the thousands of Israel.
15 Eles vieram aos filhos de Rúben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manassés, à terra de Gileade, e falaram com eles, dizendo:
And they came to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and spoke with them, saying,
16 “Toda a congregação de Javé diz: 'Que transgressão é essa que vocês cometeram contra o Deus de Israel, para se afastarem hoje de seguir a Javé, na medida em que vocês mesmos construíram um altar, para se rebelarem hoje contra Javé?
Thus saith the whole assembly of Jehovah: What wickedness is this which ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that ye have built yourselves an altar, rebelling this day against Jehovah?
17 A iniquidade de Peor é muito pouca para nós, da qual não nos limpamos até hoje, embora tenha vindo uma praga sobre a congregação de Iavé,
Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us? from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the assembly of Jehovah.
18 que hoje vocês devem se afastar de seguir Iavé? Será, já que hoje vocês se rebelam contra Iavé, que amanhã ele estará zangado com toda a congregação de Israel.
And ye turn away this day from following Jehovah; and it will be, that since ye rebel this day against Jehovah, to-morrow he will be wroth with the whole assembly of Israel.
19 Entretanto, se a terra de sua posse for impura, então passe para a terra da posse de Iavé, na qual habita o tabernáculo de Iavé, e tome posse entre nós; mas não se revolte contra Iavé, nem se revolte contra nós, ao construir um altar que não seja o altar de Iavé nosso Deus.
Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession is unclean, come over into the land of the possession of Jehovah, where Jehovah's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession amongst us; but rebel not against Jehovah, and rebel not against us, in building for yourselves an altar besides the altar of Jehovah our God.
20 Achan, o filho de Zerah, não cometeu uma transgressão na coisa devota, e a ira caiu sobre toda a congregação de Israel? Aquele homem não pereceu sozinho em sua iniqüidade'”.
Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing? and wrath fell on all the assembly of Israel, and he perished not alone in his iniquity.
21 Então os filhos de Rubem e os filhos de Gad e a meia tribo de Manassés responderam, e falaram aos chefes dos milhares de Israel,
And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered and said to the heads of the thousands of Israel,
22 “O Poderoso, Deus, Javé, o Poderoso, Deus, Javé, ele sabe; e Israel saberá”: se foi em rebelião, ou se em ofensa a Iavé (não nos salve hoje),
The God of gods, Jehovah, the God of gods, Jehovah, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know [it]; if it is in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah, — save us not this day!
23 que construímos um altar para nos afastarmos de seguir Iavé; ou se para oferecer holocausto ou oferta de refeição, ou se para oferecer sacrifícios de ofertas de paz, que o próprio Iavé o exija.
— that we have built for ourselves an altar to turn from following Jehovah, and if it is to offer up burnt-offering and oblation on it, and if to offer peace-offerings thereon, let Jehovah himself require it [from us];
24 “Se não tivermos feito isso por preocupação, e por uma razão, dizendo: “A seu tempo seus filhos poderão falar com nossos filhos, dizendo: “O que você tem a ver com Iavé, o Deus de Israel?
and if we have not done it from fear of this thing, saying, In future your children will speak to our children, saying, What have ye to do with Jehovah the God of Israel?
25 Pois Javé fez do Jordão uma fronteira entre nós e vocês, filhos de Rúben e filhos de Gad. Vocês não têm parte em Yahweh”. Assim seus filhos podem fazer com que nossos filhos deixem de temer a Iavé”.
Jehovah hath made the Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad, ye have no portion in Jehovah! And so shall your children make our children cease from fearing Jehovah.
26 “Portanto, dissemos: 'Vamos agora nos preparar para construir um altar, não para holocausto, nem para sacrifício;
And we said, Let us now set to work to build an altar, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice,
27 mas será uma testemunha entre nós e você, e entre nossas gerações depois de nós, para que possamos realizar o serviço de Iavé diante dele com nossas ofertas queimadas, com nossos sacrifícios, e com nossas ofertas de paz;' para que seus filhos não digam a nossos filhos no futuro, 'Você não tem parte em Iavé'.
but to be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we might do service to Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in future, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.
28 “Por isso dissemos: “Será, quando nos disserem a nós ou a nossas gerações no futuro, que diremos: “Eis o modelo do altar de Javé, que nossos pais fizeram, não para holocausto, nem para sacrifício; mas é uma testemunha entre nós e vós”.
And we said, If it shall be that in future they so say to us and to our generations, we will say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah which our fathers made, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice, but as a witness between us and you.
29 “Longe de nós que devemos nos rebelar contra Javé, e hoje nos afastamos de seguir a Javé, para construir um altar para holocausto, para oferta de refeição ou para sacrifício, além do altar de Javé nosso Deus que está diante de seu tabernáculo”!
Far be it from us that we should rebel against Jehovah, and turn this day from following Jehovah, in building an altar for burnt-offering, for oblation, and for sacrifice, besides the altar of Jehovah our God that is before his tabernacle.
30 Quando Phinehas, o sacerdote, e os príncipes da congregação, mesmo os chefes dos milhares de Israel que estavam com ele, ouviram as palavras que os filhos de Rubem e os filhos de Gad e os filhos de Manassés falaram, isso os agradou bem.
And when Phinehas the priest and the princes of the assembly and the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spoke, it was good in their sight.
31 Phinehas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, disse aos filhos de Rúben, aos filhos de Gad e aos filhos de Manassés: “Hoje sabemos que Javé está entre nós, porque vocês não cometeram esta transgressão contra Javé. Agora vocês livraram os filhos de Israel das mãos de Iavé”.
And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that Jehovah is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against Jehovah: now have ye delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.
32 Phinehas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, e os príncipes, voltaram dos filhos de Rúben, e dos filhos de Gad, da terra de Gilead, para a terra de Canaã, para os filhos de Israel, e trouxeram-lhes notícias novamente.
And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
33 Isto agradou aos filhos de Israel; e os filhos de Israel abençoaram a Deus, e não falaram mais em ir contra eles para a guerra, para destruir a terra em que os filhos de Rúben e os filhos de Gad viviam.
And the thing was good in the sight of the children of Israel, and the children of Israel blessed God, and no more said that they would go up in warfare against them, to destroy the land in which the children of Reuben and the children of Gad dwelt.
34 Os filhos de Rúben e os filhos de Gad chamaram o altar de “Uma testemunha entre nós de que Yahweh é Deus”.
And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad gave a name to the altar; for it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.
