Josué 1
1 Agora após a morte de Moisés, servo de Iavé, Iavé falou a Josué, filho de Freira, servo de Moisés, dizendo:
Now after the death of His servant Moses, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying,
2 “Moisés, meu servo, está morto”. Agora, pois, levantai-vos, atravessai este Jordão, vós e todo este povo, para a terra que lhes estou dando, até mesmo aos filhos de Israel”.
“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore arise, you and all these people, and cross over the Jordan into the land that I am giving to the children of Israel.
3 Eu vos dei cada lugar que a sola de vosso pé pisará, como eu disse a Moisés.
I have given you every place where the sole of your foot will tread, just as I promised to Moses.
4 Do deserto e deste Líbano até o grande rio, o rio Eufrates, toda a terra dos hititas, e até o grande mar em direção ao pôr do sol, será sua fronteira.
Your territory shall extend from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great River Euphrates—all the land of the Hittites—and west as far as the Great Sea.
5 Nenhum homem será capaz de estar diante de você todos os dias de sua vida. Como eu estive com Moisés, assim eu estarei com vocês. Não vos falharei nem vos abandonarei.
No one shall stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
6 “Seja forte e corajoso; pois você fará com que este povo herde a terra que jurei a seus pais lhes dar.
Be strong and courageous, for you shall give these people the inheritance of the land that I swore to their fathers I would give them.
7 “Sejam fortes e muito corajosos. Tende o cuidado de observar para fazer de acordo com toda a lei que Moisés, meu servo, vos ordenou. Não se desvie dela para a mão direita ou para a esquerda, para que possa ter bom êxito onde quer que vá.
Above all, be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe all the law that My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go.
8 Este livro da lei não sairá de sua boca, mas meditará nele dia e noite, para que você possa observar para fazer de acordo com tudo o que nele está escrito; pois então você fará seu caminho prosperar, e então você terá bom êxito.
This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do.
9 Eu não te ordenei? Seja forte e corajoso. Não tenha medo. Não se assuste, pois Yahweh seu Deus está com você onde quer que você vá”.
Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
10 Então Josué comandou os oficiais do povo, dizendo:
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people:
11 “Passem pelo meio do acampamento e comandem o povo, dizendo: 'Preparem comida; porque dentro de três dias vocês devem passar por este Jordão, para entrar para possuir a terra que Yahweh vosso Deus vos dá para possuir'”.
“Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you will cross the Jordan to go in and take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.’”
12 Josué falou aos rubenitas, e aos gaditas, e à meia tribo de Manassés, dizendo:
But to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,
13 “Lembrai-vos da palavra que Moisés, servo de Javé, vos ordenou, dizendo: 'Javé, vosso Deus, vos dá descanso, e vos dará esta terra.
“Remember what Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you when he said, ‘The LORD your God will give you rest, and He will give you this land.’
14 Vossas esposas, vossos pequenos e vosso gado viverão na terra que Moisés vos deu além do Jordão; mas vós passareis diante de vossos irmãos armados, todos os homens valentes, e os ajudareis
Your wives, your young children, and your livestock may remain in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But all your mighty men of valor must be armed for battle to cross over ahead of your brothers and help them,
15 até que Javé tenha dado descanso a vossos irmãos, como ele vos deu, e eles também possuíram a terra que Javé vosso Deus lhes dá. Então retornareis à terra de vossa posse e a possuireis, que Moisés, servo de Javé, vos deu além do Jordão, em direção ao nascer do sol”.
until the LORD gives them rest as He has done for you, and your brothers also possess the land that the LORD your God is giving them. Then you may return to the land of your inheritance and take possession of that which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the east side of the Jordan.”
16 Eles responderam a Joshua, dizendo: “Tudo o que você nos ordenou, faremos e para onde quer que você nos envie, iremos”.
So they answered Joshua, “Everything you have commanded us we will do, and everywhere you send us we will go.
17 Assim como ouvimos Moisés em todas as coisas, também nós o ouviremos a você”. Somente Yahweh, seu Deus, possa estar com você, como estava com Moisés.
Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you. And may the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses.
18 Quem se rebelar contra seu mandamento e não escutar suas palavras em tudo o que você lhe ordenar, será ele mesmo condenado à morte. Sede apenas fortes e corajosos”.
Anyone who rebels against your order and does not obey your words, all that you command him, will be put to death. Above all, be strong and courageous!”
