João 21
1 Depois destas coisas, Jesus revelou-se novamente aos discípulos no mar de Tiberíades. Ele se revelou desta maneira.
After these things, Jesus showed Himself to the disciples again, at the Sea of Tiberias. He showed Himself in the following way.
2 Simão Pedro, Tomé chamado Didymus, Natanael de Caná na Galiléia, e os filhos de Zebedeu, e outros dois de seus discípulos estavam juntos.
Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.
3 Simão Pedro disse-lhes: “Eu vou pescar”. Eles lhe disseram: “Nós também vamos com você”. Eles saíram imediatamente e entraram no barco. Naquela noite, eles não pegaram nada.
Simon Peter told them, “I’m going fishing.” They said to him, “We’ll go with you, too.” They went out immediately and got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
4 Mas quando o dia já havia chegado, Jesus estava na praia; no entanto, os discípulos não sabiam que era Jesus.
Now when the morning had come, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples didn’t know that it was Jesus.
5 Jesus então lhes disse: “Crianças, têm algo para comer?”. Eles lhe responderam: “Não”.
Therefore Jesus asked them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, do you?” “No,” they answered Him.
6 Ele disse-lhes: “Lancem a rede no lado direito do barco, e encontrarão alguma”. Eles o lançaram, portanto, e agora não conseguiram atraí-lo para a multidão de peixes.
He told them, “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll find some.” So, they cast the net, and then they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish.
7 Aquele discípulo, portanto, a quem Jesus amava disse a Pedro: “É o Senhor! Assim, quando Simon Peter ouviu que era o Senhor, envolveu seu casaco (pois estava nu), e se jogou no mar.
Therefore that disciple who Jesus sincerely loved told Peter, “It’s the Lord!” So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he had taken it off), and threw himself into the sea.
8 Mas os outros discípulos vieram no pequeno barco (pois não estavam longe da terra, mas a cerca de duzentos cúbitos de distância), arrastando a rede cheia de peixes.
The other disciples came in the little boat, for they weren’t far from land, but about two hundred cubits away, dragging the net full of fish.
9 Então, quando saíram em terra, viram um fogo de brasas ali, com o peixe e o pão colocados sobre ele.
So when they came ashore, they saw a charcoal fire already burning, with fish and bread placed on it.
10 Jesus disse-lhes: “Tragam alguns dos peixes que acabaram de pescar”.
Jesus told them, “Bring some of the fish that you just caught.”
11 Simon Peter subiu, e puxou a rede para terra, cheia de cento e cinqüenta e três grandes peixes. Mesmo sendo tantos, a rede não foi rasgada.
Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of one hundred fifty-three large fish. Although there were so many, the net wasn’t torn.
12 Jesus disse a eles: “Venham e tomem o café da manhã! Nenhum dos discípulos ousou perguntar-lhe: “Quem é você?” sabendo que era o Senhor.
Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” They knew that it was the Lord.
13 Então Jesus veio e levou o pão, deu a eles, e o peixe também.
Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.
14 Esta é agora a terceira vez que Jesus é revelado a seus discípulos, depois de ter ressuscitado dos mortos.
This is now the third time that Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.
15 Então, quando eles tinham tomado o café da manhã, Jesus disse a Simão Pedro: “Simão, filho de Jonas, você me ama mais do que estes?”. Ele lhe disse: “Sim, Senhor; Vós sabeis que tenho afeto por vós”. Ele lhe disse: “Alimente meus cordeiros”.
When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you sincerely love me more than these?” He answered, “Yes, Lord. You know that I love You.” “Feed my lambs,” Jesus replied.
16 Ele disse a ele uma segunda vez: “Simon, filho de Jonas, você me ama?” Ele lhe disse: “Sim, Senhor; Vós sabeis que tenho afeto por vós”. Ele lhe disse: “Cuide das minhas ovelhas”.
He asked him a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you sincerely love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord. You know that I love You.” “Shepherd my sheep,” He replied.
17 Ele disse a ele pela terceira vez: “Simon, filho de Jonas, você tem carinho por mim?” Peter ficou triste porque perguntou a ele pela terceira vez: “Você tem carinho por mim”? Ele disse a ele: “Senhor, tu sabes tudo. Tu sabes que eu tenho afeto por ti”. Jesus lhe disse: “Alimente minhas ovelhas”.
He asked the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because He asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He answered, “Lord, You know everything. You know that I love You.” “Feed My sheep,” Jesus replied.
18 Certamente eu lhe digo, quando você era jovem, você se vestia e caminhava onde queria. Mas quando você for velho, estenderá suas mãos, e outro o vestirá e o levará para onde você não quer ir”.
“Most assuredly, I tell you, when you were younger, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted to; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you don’t want to go.”
19 Agora ele disse isto, significando com que tipo de morte ele glorificaria a Deus. Quando ele disse isto, disse-lhe: “Siga-me”.
He said this to indicate what kind of death he would glorify God with. When He had said this, He told Peter, “Follow me!”
20 Então Pedro, voltando-se, viu um discípulo seguindo-o. Este era o discípulo que Jesus amava, aquele que também havia se apoiado no peito de Jesus no jantar e perguntou: “Senhor, quem te vai trair?
Then Peter, turning around, saw a disciple following. This was the disciple who Jesus sincerely loved, the one who had also leaned on Jesus’ breast at the supper and asked, “Lord, who is going to betray You?”
21 Pedro, vendo-o, disse a Jesus: “Senhor, que dizer deste homem?”.
Peter therefore, seeing him, asked Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?”
22 Jesus lhe disse: “Se eu desejo que ele fique até eu vir, o que é isso para você? Você me segue”.
Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”
23 Este ditado, portanto, saiu entre os irmãos que este discípulo não iria morrer. Mas Jesus não lhe disse que ele não morreria, mas: “Se eu desejo que ele fique até que eu venha, o que é isso para você”?
Because of this answer, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple wouldn’t die, but Jesus didn’t tell him that he wouldn’t die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”
24 Este é o discípulo que testemunha sobre estas coisas, e escreveu estas coisas. Sabemos que sua testemunha é verdadeira.
This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and who wrote these things. We know that his testimony is true.
25 Há também muitas outras coisas que Jesus fez, que se todas elas fossem escritas, suponho que nem mesmo o próprio mundo teria espaço para os livros que seriam escritos.
There are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself couldn’t contain the books that would be written. Amen.
