João 12
1 Então, seis dias antes da Páscoa, Jesus veio a Betânia, onde estava Lázaro, que havia morrido, a quem ele ressuscitou dos mortos.
Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, who He had raised from the dead.
2 Por isso, fizeram-lhe um jantar lá. Marta serviu, mas Lázaro foi um dos que se sentaram à mesa com ele.
There they made Him a supper, and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.
3 Então Maria pegou um quilo de pomada de nardo puro, muito precioso, e ungiu os pés de Jesus e limpou seus pés com seus cabelos. A casa foi enchida com o perfume da pomada.
Then Mary took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 Então Judas Iscariotes, filho de Simão, um de seus discípulos, que o trairia, disse:
Then one of Jesus’ disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who was about to betray Him, said,
5 “Por que este ungüento não foi vendido por trezentos denários e dado aos pobres?
“Why wasn’t this fragrant oil sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
6 Agora ele disse isto, não porque cuidava dos pobres, mas porque era um ladrão, e tendo a caixa de dinheiro, costumava roubar o que era colocado nela.
Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and since he had the money box, he used to steal from what was put into it.
7 Mas Jesus disse: “Deixe-a em paz”. Ela guardou isto para o dia do meu enterro.
Jesus therefore said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
8 Pois você sempre tem os pobres com você, mas nem sempre me tem”.
You will always have the poor among you, but you won’t always have me.”
9 Uma grande multidão, portanto, dos judeus soube que ele estava lá; e eles vieram, não somente por causa de Jesus, mas para que pudessem ver Lázaro, a quem ele ressuscitara dentre os mortos.
Then a great multitude of the Jews learned that He was there; and they came, not just for Jesus’ sake, but also so that they could see Lazarus, who He had raised from the dead.
10 Mas os chefes dos sacerdotes conspiraram para matar Lázaro também,
So the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too,
11 porque, por causa dele, muitos dos judeus foram embora e acreditaram em Jesus.
because on account of him many of the Jews were going away, and were believing in Jesus.
12 No dia seguinte, uma grande multidão havia chegado à festa. Quando souberam que Jesus estava chegando a Jerusalém,
The next day, when a great multitude that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 pegaram os galhos das palmeiras e foram ao seu encontro, e gritaram: “Hosana! Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor, o Rei de Israel”!
they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and shouted: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ The King of Israel!”
14 Jesus, tendo encontrado um burro jovem, sentou-se sobre ele. Como está escrito,
Then Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it, as it is written:
15 “Não tenha medo, filha de Sião. Eis que seu Rei vem, sentado sobre o jumentinho de um burro”.
“Don’t be afraid, Daughter of Zion; look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
16 Seus discípulos não entenderam estas coisas no início, mas quando Jesus foi glorificado, então eles se lembraram que estas coisas estavam escritas sobre ele, e que eles tinham feito estas coisas a ele.
His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
17 A multidão que estava com ele quando ele chamou Lázaro para fora do túmulo e o ressuscitou dos mortos estava testemunhando sobre isso.
So the crowd that had been with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to testify.
18 Por esta causa também a multidão foi ao seu encontro, pois souberam que ele tinha feito este sinal.
The crowd also met Him because they heard that He had done this sign.
19 Os fariseus, portanto, disseram entre si: “Vejam como vocês não fazem nada”. Eis que o mundo foi atrás dele”.
Then the Pharisees said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the whole world has gone after Him!”
20 Agora havia certos gregos entre aqueles que subiam para adorar na festa.
Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
21 Portanto, estes vieram a Filipe, que era de Betsaida da Galiléia, e lhe perguntaram, dizendo: “Senhor, queremos ver Jesus”.
Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and told him, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”
22 Filipe veio e disse a André, e por sua vez, André veio com Filipe, e eles disseram a Jesus.
Philip came and told Andrew, then Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.
23 Jesus lhes respondeu: “Chegou a hora de glorificar o Filho do Homem.
Jesus answered them, saying, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 Certamente vos digo, a menos que um grão de trigo caia na terra e morra, ele permanece por si só. Mas se ele morre, dá muito fruto.
Most assuredly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces many grains.
25 Aquele que ama sua vida, perdê-la-á. Aquele que odeia sua vida neste mundo, a manterá para a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, and anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 Se alguém me serve, deixe-o me seguir. Onde eu estiver, lá estará também o meu servo. Se alguém me serve, o Pai o honrará.
If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor them.
27 “Agora minha alma está perturbada. O que devo dizer? 'Pai, salva-me desta vez?'. Mas eu vim a este tempo por esta causa.
“Now my soul has become troubled; and what will I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? No, for this purpose I came to this time.
28 Pai, glorifica o teu nome”! Então uma voz saiu do céu, dizendo: “Eu o glorifiquei e o glorificarei novamente”.
Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from Heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
29 Por isso, a multidão que ficou de pé e ouviu dizer que havia trovejado. Outros disseram: “Um anjo falou com ele”.
Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 Jesus respondeu: “Esta voz não veio por mim, mas para o seu bem”.
Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
31 Agora é o julgamento deste mundo. Agora o príncipe deste mundo será expulso.
Now judgment is upon this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
32 E eu, se eu for levantado da terra, atrairei todas as pessoas para mim”.
And I, if I am lifted up from the Earth, will draw everyone to myself.”
33 Mas ele disse isto, significando com que tipo de morte ele deve morrer.
He was saying this to indicate the kind of death He was about to die.
34 A multidão lhe respondeu: “Ouvimos da lei que o Cristo permanece para sempre”. Como se diz: “O Filho do Homem deve ser levantado”? Quem é este Filho do Homem?” (aiōn g165)
Therefore the crowd answered Him, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever, so how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” (aiōn g165)
35 Jesus, portanto, disse-lhes: “Ainda que a luz esteja um pouco com vocês”. Caminhe enquanto você tem a luz, que a escuridão não o ultrapassa. Aquele que caminha na escuridão não sabe para onde está indo.
Jesus told them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you don’t know where you are going.
36 Enquanto vocês têm a luz, acreditem na luz, para que vocês possam se tornar filhos da luz”. Jesus disse estas coisas, e ele se afastou e se escondeu delas.
Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.
37 Mas embora ele tivesse feito tantos sinais diante deles, ainda assim eles não acreditaram nele,
Although He had performed so many signs in front of them, they still didn’t believe in Him,
38 para que a palavra do profeta Isaías se cumprisse, que ele falou: “Senhor, quem acreditou em nosso relatório? A quem foi revelado o braço do Senhor”?
so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And who has the arm of the LORD been revealed to?”
39 Por esta causa eles não podiam acreditar, pois Isaías disse novamente:
Therefore they couldn’t believe, because Isaiah said again:
40 “Ele cegou-lhes os olhos e endureceu-lhes o coração, para que eles não vejam com os olhos, e percebem com o coração, e se voltaria, e eu os curaria”.
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts and turn — and I would heal them.”
41 Isaías disse estas coisas quando viu sua glória, e falou dele.
Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.
42 Entretanto, mesmo muitos dos governantes acreditaram nele, mas por causa dos fariseus não o confessaram, para que não fossem expulsos da sinagoga,
Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they weren’t confessing Him, for fear that they might be put out of the synagogue;
43 pois amavam mais o louvor dos homens do que o louvor de Deus.
because they sincerely loved men’s approval more than God’s approval.
44 Jesus gritou e disse: “Quem crê em mim, crê não em mim, mas naquele que me enviou”.
Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me doesn’t just believe in me, but in Him who sent me.
45 Aquele que me vê, vê aquele que me enviou.
Whoever sees me sees Him who sent me.
46 Eu vim como uma luz para o mundo, para que quem acredita em mim não permaneça na escuridão.
I have come into the world as light, that everyone who believes in me should not stay in darkness.
47 Se alguém ouve minhas palavras e não acredita, eu não o julgo. Pois eu vim não para julgar o mundo, mas para salvar o mundo.
If anyone hears the words I speak, and doesn’t keep them, I don’t judge them; because I didn’t come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Aquele que me rejeita, e não recebe meus ditos, tem um que o julga. A palavra que eu falei o julgará no último dia.
Whoever rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges them. The words that I spoke are what will judge him at the last day.
49 Pois eu não falei de mim mesmo, mas o Pai que me enviou me deu um mandamento, o que eu deveria dizer e o que eu deveria falar.
For I haven’t spoken on my own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent me has given me commandment, what to say, and what to speak.
