Joel 2
1 Tocar a trombeta em Zion, e soar um alarme na minha montanha sagrada! Que todos os habitantes da terra tremam, para o dia de Yahweh chegar, pois está perto:
Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is at hand;
2 Um dia de escuridão e escuridão, um dia de nuvens e escuridão espessa. Enquanto a aurora se espalhava pelas montanhas, um povo grande e forte; nunca houve o mesmo, nem haverá mais depois deles, mesmo para os anos de muitas gerações.
a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gross darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; — a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, to the years of generations and generations.
3 Um incêndio devora diante deles, e atrás deles, uma chama queima. A terra é como o jardim do Éden antes deles, e atrás deles, um desolado deserto. Sim, e ninguém escapou deles.
A fire devoureth before them, and behind them a flame burneth; the land is as a garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness: yea, and nothing escapeth them.
4 Sua aparência é como a aparência de cavalos, e eles correm como cavaleiros.
The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so they run.
5 Como o barulho das carruagens no topo das montanhas, elas saltam, como o ruído de uma chama de fogo que devora o restolho, como um povo forte, em uma série de batalhas.
Like the noise of chariots, on the tops of the mountains, they leap; like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Na presença deles, os povos estão angustiados. Todos os rostos ficaram pálidos.
Before them the peoples are in anguish: all faces turn pale.
7 Eles correm como homens poderosos. Eles escalam o muro como guerreiros. Cada um deles marcha em sua linha, e não se desviam do curso.
They run like mighty men; they climb the wall like men of war; and they march every one on his ways, and break not their ranks.
8 Um não empurra o outro. Cada um deles marcha em seu próprio caminho. Eles irrompem através das defesas e não se desunam.
Neither doth one press upon another; they march every one in his path; and fall amid weapons, but are not wounded.
9 Eles correm para a cidade. Eles correm sobre a parede. Eles sobem para dentro das casas. Eles entram pelas janelas como ladrões.
They spread themselves over the city; they run upon the wall; they climb up into the houses; they enter in by the windows like a thief.
10 A terra treme antes deles. Os céus tremem. O sol e a lua estão escurecidos, e as estrelas retiram seu brilho.
The earth quaketh before them; the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
11 Yahweh troveja sua voz diante de seu exército, pois suas forças são muito grandes; pois ele é forte e obedece a seu comando; para o dia de Yahweh é ótimo e muito impressionante, e quem pode suportar isso?
And Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for strong is he that executeth his word: for the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can bear it?
12 “Ainda agora”, diz Yahweh, “vire-se para mim com todo o seu coração”, e com jejum, e com choro, e com luto”.
Yet even now, saith Jehovah, turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning;
13 Rasgue seu coração e não suas peças de vestuário, e voltar-se para Yahweh, seu Deus; pois ele é gracioso e misericordioso, lento para a raiva, e abundante em bondade amorosa, e se arrepende de enviar calamidades.
and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Jehovah your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving-kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Quem sabe? Ele pode se virar e se render, e deixar uma bênção para trás, até mesmo uma oferta de refeição e uma oferta de bebida para Yahweh, seu Deus.
Who knoweth? He might return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, an oblation and a drink-offering for Jehovah your God?
15 Tocar a trombeta em Zion! Santificar um jejum. Convocar uma assembléia solene.
Blow the trumpet in Zion, hallow a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly;
16 Reúna o povo. Santificar a montagem. Reúna os mais velhos. Reúna as crianças, e aqueles que amamentam dos seios. Deixe o noivo sair de seu quarto, e a noiva fora de seu quarto.
gather the people, hallow the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride from her closet.
17 Deixem os sacerdotes, os ministros de Javé, chorar entre o alpendre e o altar, e deixá-los dizer: “Poupe seu povo, Yahweh, e não dê sua herança para censurar, que as nações devem governar sobre eles. Por que deveriam eles dizer entre os povos, Onde está o Deus deles?”
Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare, O Jehovah, thy people, and give not thine inheritance to reproach, that they should be a byword of the nations. Wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
18 Então Yahweh ficou com ciúmes por sua terra, e teve piedade de seu povo.
Then Jehovah will be jealous for his land, and will have pity on his people.
19 Yahweh respondeu ao seu povo, “Eis que vos enviarei grãos, vinho novo e azeite, e você ficará satisfeito com eles; e não farei mais de vocês uma reprovação entre as nações.
And Jehovah will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I send you corn, and new wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.
20 Mas removerei o exército do norte para longe de vocês, e a conduzirá para uma terra árida e desolada, sua frente para o mar oriental, e está de costas para o mar ocidental; e seu fedor virá à tona, e seu cheiro ruim vai subir”. Certamente ele tem feito grandes coisas.
And I will remove far off from you him [that cometh] from the north, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, his face toward the eastern sea, and his rear toward the hinder sea; and his stench shall come up, and his ill odour shall come up, for he hath exalted himself to do great things.
21 Terra, não tenha medo. Alegre-se e alegre-se, pois Yahweh fez grandes coisas.
— Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for Jehovah doeth great things.
22 Não tenham medo, seus animais do campo; para as pastagens do deserto nascem, pois a árvore dá seus frutos. A figueira e a videira rendem sua força.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring; for the tree beareth its fruit; the fig-tree and the vine yield full increase.
23 “Fiquem felizes então, filhos de Zion, e regozije-se em Yahweh, seu Deus; pois ele lhe dá a chuva precoce na medida exata, e ele faz com que a chuva desça para você, a chuva precoce e a última chuva, como antes.
And ye, children of Zion, be glad and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he giveth you the early rain in due measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the early rain, and the latter rain at the beginning [of the season].
24 As eiras estarão cheias de trigo, e as cubas transbordarão com vinho e óleo novos.
And the floors shall be full of corn, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
25 Vou restaurar para vocês os anos que o gafanhoto em enxame comeu, o grande gafanhoto, o gafanhoto, e a lagarta, meu grande exército, que eu enviei entre vocês.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 Você terá muito que comer e ficar satisfeito, e louvará o nome de Yahweh, seu Deus, que tem lidado maravilhosamente com você; e meu povo nunca mais ficará desapontado.
And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of Jehovah your God, who hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 Você saberá que eu estou entre Israel, e que eu sou Yahweh, seu Deus, e que não há mais ninguém; e meu povo nunca mais ficará desapontado.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I, Jehovah, [am] your God, and there is none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 “Acontecerá depois, que derramarei meu Espírito sobre toda a carne”; e seus filhos e suas filhas profetizarão. Seus velhos sonharão com sonhos. Seus jovens terão visões.
And it shall come to pass afterwards [that] I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.
29 And também sobre os criados e sobre as serviçais naqueles dias, Eu derramarei meu Espírito.
Yea, even upon the bondmen and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.
30 I mostrará maravilhas nos céus e na terra: sangue, fogo e pilares de fumaça.
And I will shew wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The o sol será transformado em escuridão, e a lua em sangue, antes que chegue o grande e terrível dia de Yahweh.
The sun shall be changed to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of Jehovah come.
32 It acontecerá que quem chamar pelo nome de Yahweh será salvo; pois no Monte Zion e em Jerusalém haverá quem escape, como disse Yahweh, e entre os remanescentes, aqueles que Yahweh chama.
And it shall be that whosoever shall call upon the name of Jehovah shall be saved: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as Jehovah hath said, and for the residue whom Jehovah shall call.
