1 Então Bildad, o Shuhite, respondeu,
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
2 “Por quanto tempo você vai falar estas coisas? Será que as palavras de sua boca serão um vento forte?
“How long will you go on saying such things? The words of your mouth are a blustering wind.
3 Será que Deus perverte a justiça? Ou será que o Todo-Poderoso perverte a justiça?
Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?
4 Se seus filhos tiverem pecado contra ele, ele os entregou na mão de sua desobediência.
When your children sinned against Him, He gave them over to their rebellion.
5 Se você quiser buscar a Deus com diligência, faça sua súplica ao Todo-Poderoso.
But if you would earnestly seek God and ask the Almighty for mercy,
6 Se você fosse puro e íntegro, certamente agora ele despertaria para você, e fazer prosperar a habitação de sua retidão.
if you are pure and upright, even now He will rouse Himself on your behalf and restore your righteous estate.
7 Though seu início foi pequeno, no entanto, seu último fim aumentaria muito.
Though your beginnings were modest, your latter days will flourish.
8 “Por favor, informe-se sobre as gerações passadas. Saiba mais sobre o aprendizado de seus pais.
Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers.
9 (Pois nós somos apenas de ontem, e não sabemos nada, porque nossos dias na terra são uma sombra).
For we were born yesterday and know nothing; our days on earth are but a shadow.
10 Não lhe ensinarão, diga-lhe, e proferir palavras do coração deles?
Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding?
11 “O papiro pode crescer sem lama? Os juncos podem crescer sem água?
Does papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Do reeds flourish without water?
12 Enquanto ainda está em seu verde, não cortado, ele murcha antes de qualquer outra palheta.
While the shoots are still uncut, they dry up quicker than grass.
13 Assim são os caminhos de todos os que se esquecem de Deus. A esperança do homem sem Deus perecerá,
Such is the destiny of all who forget God; so the hope of the godless will perish.
14 cuja confiança se desfará, cuja confiança é uma teia de aranha.
His confidence is fragile; his security is in a spider’s web.
15 Ele se apoiará em sua casa, mas ela não vai ficar de pé. Ele se agarrará a ela, mas ela não perdurará.
He leans on his web, but it gives way; he holds fast, but it does not endure.
16 Ele está verde antes do sol. Seus rebentos saem ao longo de seu jardim.
He is a well-watered plant in the sunshine, spreading its shoots over the garden.
17 Suas raízes estão enroladas ao redor da pilha de rochas. Ele vê o lugar das pedras.
His roots wrap around the rock heap; he looks for a home among the stones.
18 Se ele for destruído de seu lugar, então o negará, dizendo: “Eu não o vi”.
If he is uprooted from his place, it will disown him, saying, ‘I never saw you.’
19 Eis aqui a alegria de seu caminho. Fora da terra, outros irão brotar.
Surely this is the joy of his way; yet others will spring from the dust.
20 “Vejam, Deus não vai jogar fora um homem irrepreensível, nem defenderá os malfeitores.
Behold, God does not reject the blameless, nor will He strengthen the hand of evildoers.
21 Ele ainda vai encher sua boca de risos, seus lábios com gritos.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with a shout of joy.
22 Aqueles que o odeiam estarão vestidos de vergonha. A tenda dos ímpios não será mais”.
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
