1 Então Elifaz, o Temanita, respondeu,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and sayde,
2 “Se alguém se aventurar a falar com você, você ficará de luto? Mas quem pode se impedir de falar?
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieued? but who can withholde himselfe from speaking?
3 Veja, você já instruiu muitos, você fortaleceu as mãos fracas.
Behold, thou hast taught many, and hast strengthened the wearie hands.
4 Suas palavras apoiaram aquele que estava caindo, você tornou os joelhos frágeis e firmes.
Thy wordes haue confirmed him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the weake knees.
5 Mas agora chegou até você, e você desmaia. Isso o toca, e você está perturbado.
But now it is come vpon thee, and thou art grieued: it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
6 Sua piedade não é sua confiança? A integridade de seus caminhos não é sua esperança?
Is not this thy feare, thy confidence, thy pacience, and the vprightnesse of thy wayes?
7 “Lembre-se, agora, quem pereceu, sendo inocente? Ou onde foram os cortes verticais?
Remember, I pray thee: who euer perished, being an innocent? or where were the vpright destroyed?
8 According ao que tenho visto, aqueles que lavram a iniqüidade e semear problemas, colher o mesmo.
As I haue seene, they that plow iniquitie, and sowe wickednesse, reape the same.
9 Pelo sopro de Deus eles perecem. Pela explosão de sua raiva eles são consumidos.
With the blast of God they perish, and with the breath of his nostrels are they cosumed.
10 O rugido do leão, e a voz do leão feroz, os dentes dos leões jovens, estão quebrados.
The roaring of the Lion, and the voyce of the Lionesse, and the teeth of the Lions whelpes are broken.
11 O velho leão perece por falta de presa. As crias da leoa estão dispersas no exterior.
The Lyon perisheth for lacke of pray, and the Lyons whelpes are scattered abroade.
12 “Agora uma coisa foi trazida secretamente para mim. Meu ouvido recebeu um sussurro disso.
But a thing was brought to me secretly, and mine eare hath receiued a litle thereof.
13 Em pensamentos das visões da noite, quando o sono profundo cai sobre os homens,
In the thoughtes of ye visions of the night, when sleepe falleth on men,
14 o medo veio sobre mim, e tremendo, o que fez todos os meus ossos tremerem.
Feare came vpon me, and dread which made all my bones to tremble.
15 Então um espírito passou diante do meu rosto. Os cabelos da minha carne se levantaram.
And the wind passed before me, and made the heares of my flesh to stande vp.
16 Ficou parado, mas eu não conseguia discernir sua aparência. Um formulário estava diante dos meus olhos. Silêncio, então eu ouvi uma voz, dizendo,
Then stoode one, and I knewe not his face: an image was before mine eyes, and in silence heard I a voyce, saying,
17 'O homem mortal deve ser mais justo que Deus? Será que um homem deve ser mais puro que seu Criador?
Shall man be more iust then God? or shall a man be more pure then his maker?
18 Eis que ele não deposita confiança em seus servos. Ele acusa seus anjos de erro.
Beholde, he founde no stedfastnesse in his Seruants, and laid follie vpon his Angels.
19 Quanto mais aqueles que moram em casas de barro, cuja base está no pó, que são esmagados diante da traça!
Howe much more in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which shalbe destroyed before the moth?
20 Between de manhã e à noite eles são destruídos. Eles perecem para sempre sem nada a ver com isso.
They be destroyed from the morning vnto the euening: they perish for euer, without regarde.
21 O cordão da barraca deles não está arrancado dentro deles? Eles morrem, e isso sem sabedoria”.
Doeth not their dignitie goe away with them? do they not die, and that without wisdom?
