Jó 34
1 Moreover Elihu respondeu,
And Eliu continued his discourse, and said:
2 “Ouçam minhas palavras, homens sábios. Dê ouvidos a mim, você que tem conhecimento.
Hear ye, wise men, my words, and ye learned, hearken to me:
3 Para o ouvido tenta palavras, como o paladar saboreia os alimentos.
For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.
4 Let nós escolhemos para nós o que é certo. Deixe-nos saber entre nós o que é bom.
Let us choose to us judgment, and let us see among ourselves what is the best.
5 Pois Jó disse: 'Eu sou justo', Deus me tirou o direito.
For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment.
6 Notwithstanding meu direito eu sou considerado um mentiroso. Minha ferida é incurável, embora eu esteja sem desobediência”.
For in judging me there is a lie: my arrow is violent without any sin.
7 Como é o homem, Job, que bebe desprezo como a água,
What man is there like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
8 que vai em empresa com os trabalhadores da iniquidade, e caminha com homens malvados?
Who goeth in company with them that work iniquity, and walketh with wicked men?
9 Pois ele disse: 'Não beneficia um homem nada que ele deve se deleitar com Deus”.
For he hath said: Man shall not please God, although he run with him.
10 “Portanto, escutem-me, homens de entendimento: Longe de Deus, que ele deva fazer a maldade, do Todo-Poderoso, que ele deveria cometer iniquidade.
Therefore, ye men of understanding, hear me: far from god be wickedness, and iniquity from the Almighty.
11 Para o trabalho de um homem que ele lhe renderá, e fazer com que cada homem encontre de acordo com seus caminhos.
For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them.
12 Sim, com certeza, Deus não fará maldade, nem a justiça pervertida do Todo-Poderoso.
For in very deed God will not condemn without cause, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
13 Quem o colocou no comando da Terra? Ou quem o nomeou em todo o mundo?
What other hath he appointed over the earth? or whom hath he set over the world which he made?
14 Se ele se impôs a si mesmo, se ele reunisse para si seu espírito e seu fôlego,
If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself.
15 toda a carne pereceria junta, e o homem se transformaria novamente em pó.
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.
16 “Se agora você tem entendimento, ouça isto. Ouça a voz das minhas palavras.
If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.
17 Deve governar até mesmo quem odeia a justiça? Condenará aquele que é justo e poderoso,
Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?
18 que diz a um rei, 'Vile! ou para os nobres, 'Wicked!'?
Who saith to the king: Thou art an apostate: who calleth rulers ungodly?
19 Ele não respeita as pessoas dos príncipes, nem respeitam mais os ricos do que os pobres, pois todos eles são obra de suas mãos.
Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.
20 Em um momento eles morrem, mesmo à meia-noite. O povo é abalado e morre. Os poderosos são levados sem uma mão.
They shall suddenly die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and they shall pass, and take away the violent without hand.
21 “Pois seus olhos estão sobre os caminhos de um homem. Ele vê todos os seus passos.
For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he considereth all their steps.
22 Não há escuridão, nem escuridão grossa, onde os trabalhadores da iniqüidade podem se esconder.
There is no darkness, and there is no shadow of death, where they may be hid who work iniquity.
23 Pois ele não precisa mais considerar um homem, que ele deve ir diante de Deus em julgamento.
For it is no longer in the power of man to enter into judgment with God.
24 Ele quebra os homens poderosos em pedaços de maneiras que já descobriu, e coloca outros em seu lugar.
He shall break in pieces many and innumerable, and shall make others to stand in their stead.
25 Portanto, ele toma conhecimento de seus trabalhos. Ele os derruba durante a noite, para que sejam destruídos.
For he knoweth their works: and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed.
26 Ele os considera homens malvados à vista dos outros;
He hath struck them, as being wicked, in open sight.
27 porque eles se afastaram de segui-lo, e não daria atenção a nenhuma de suas maneiras,
Who as it were on purpose have revolted from him, and would not understand all his ways:
28 de modo que eles fizeram com que o grito dos pobres viesse até ele. Ele ouviu o grito dos aflitos.
So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.
29 Quando ele dá a tranquilidade, quem então pode condenar? Quando ele esconde seu rosto, quem então pode vê-lo? Ele está acima de uma nação ou de um homem,
For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?
30 that o homem sem Deus pode não reinar, que não haja ninguém para ludibriar o povo.
Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?
31 “Pois tem algo a dizer a Deus, “Sou culpado, mas não ofenderei mais.
Seeing then I have spoken of God, I will not hinder thee in thy turn.
32 Ensine-me o que eu não vejo. Se eu fiz iniquidade, não farei mais isso”?
If I have erred, teach thou me: if I have spoken iniquity, I will add no more.
33 Será que sua recompensa será como você deseja, que você a recuse? Pois você deve escolher, e não eu. Portanto, fale o que você sabe.
Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? for thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.
34 Homens de entendimento me dirão, sim, todo homem sábio que me ouve:
Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
35 'Job fala sem conhecimento. Suas palavras são sem sabedoria'.
But Job hath spoken foolishly, and his words sound not discipline.
36 Gostaria que o trabalho fosse tentado até o fim, por causa de sua resposta como homens malvados.
My father, let Job be tried even to the end: cease not from the man of iniquity.
37 Pois ele acrescenta a rebeldia ao seu pecado. Ele bate palmas entre nós, e multiplica suas palavras contra Deus”.
Because he addeth blasphemy upon his sins, let him be tied fast in the mean time amongst us: and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.
