Jó 22
1 Então Elifaz, o Temanita, respondeu,
Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said,
2 “Um homem pode ser rentável para Deus? Certamente aquele que é sábio é rentável para si mesmo.
Is it not the Lord that teaches understanding and knowledge?
3 É algum prazer para o Todo-Poderoso que você seja justo? Ou é benéfico para ele que você faça seus caminhos perfeitos?
For what matters it to the Lord, if you were blameless in [your] works? or is it profitable that you should perfect your way?
4 É por sua piedade que ele o reprova, que ele entra com você em julgamento?
Will you maintain and plead your own cause? and will he enter into judgment with you?
5 Sua perversidade não é grande? Também não há fim para suas iniqüidades.
Is not your wickedness abundant, and your sins innumerable?
6 Pois você aceitou promessas de seu irmão por nada, e despiram a roupa nua.
And you have taken security of your brethren for nothing, and have taken away the clothing of the naked.
7 Você não deu água ao cansado para beber, e você tem retido o pão dos famintos.
Neither have you given water to the thirsty to drink, but have taken away the morsel of the hungry.
8 Mas, quanto ao homem poderoso, ele tinha a terra. O homem honrado, ele viveu nele.
And you have accepted the persons of some; and you have established those [that were already settled] on the earth.
9 Você mandou viúvas embora vazias, e os braços dos sem pai foram quebrados.
But you have sent widows away empty, and has afflicted orphans.
10 Portanto, as armadilhas estão ao seu redor. O medo repentino o perturba,
Therefore snares have compassed you, and disastrous war has troubled you.
11 ou escuridão, de modo que você não possa ver, e enchentes de águas o cobrem.
The light has proved darkness to you, and water has covered you on your lying down.
12 “Deus não está nas alturas do céu? Veja a altura das estrelas, como elas são altas!
Does not he that dwells in the high places observe? and has he not brought down the proud?
13 Você diz: 'O que Deus sabe? Ele pode julgar através da escuridão espessa?
And you has said, What does the Mighty One know? does he judge in the dark?
14 As nuvens grossas são uma cobertura para ele, para que ele não veja. Ele caminha sobre o cofre do céu'.
A cloud is his hiding-place, and he shall not be seen; and he passes through the circle of heaven.
15 Você manterá o caminho antigo, que os homens malvados pisaram,
Will you [not] mark the old way, which righteous men have trodden?
16 que foram arrancados antes de seu tempo, cuja fundação foi despejada como um riacho,
who were seized before their time: their foundations [are as] an overflowing stream.
17 que disse a Deus, “Parta de nós! e, “O que o Todo-Poderoso pode fazer por nós?
Who say, What will the Lord do to us? or what will the Almighty bring upon us?
18 Yet ele encheu suas casas de coisas boas, mas o conselho dos malvados está longe de mim.
Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel for the wicked is far from him.
19 Os justos o vêem e estão contentes. Os inocentes os ridicularizam,
The righteous have seen [it], and laughed, and the blameless one has derided [them].
20 saying, 'Certamente aqueles que se levantaram contra nós estão cortados'. O fogo consumiu seu remanescente”.
Verily their substance has been utterly destroyed, and the fire shall devour what is left of their [property].
21 “Familiarize-se com ele agora e fique em paz. Por ela, a boa vontade virá até você.
Be firm, I pray you, if you can endure; then your fruit shall prosper.
22 Por favor, receba instruções de sua boca, e deposite suas palavras em seu coração.
And receive a declaration from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.
23 Se você voltar para o Todo-Poderoso, você será construído, se você afastar a injustiça de suas tendas.
And if you shall turn and humble yourself before the Lord, you have [thus] removed unrighteousness far from your habitation.
24 Coloque seu tesouro na poeira, o ouro de Ophir entre as pedras dos riachos.
You shall lay up for yourself [treasure] in a heap on the rock; and Sophir [shall be] as the rock of the torrent.
25 O Todo-Poderoso será seu tesouro, e prata preciosa para você.
So the Almighty shall be your helper from enemies, and he shall bring you forth pure as silver that has been tried by fire.
26 Pois então você se deleitará com o Todo-Poderoso, e erguerá seu rosto para Deus.
Then shall you have boldness before the Lord, looking up cheerfully to heaven.
27 Você fará sua oração a ele, e ele o ouvirá. Você pagará seus votos.
And he shall hear you when you pray to him, and he shall grant you [power] to pay your vows.
28 Você também decretará uma coisa, e ela será estabelecida para você. A luz vai brilhar em seus caminhos.
And he shall establish to you again a habitation of righteousness and there shall be light upon your paths.
29 Quando eles se abaixarem, você dirá: “sejam levantados”. Ele salvará a pessoa humilde.
Because you have humbled yourself; and you shall say, [Man] has behaved proudly, but he shall save him that is of lowly eyes.
30 He entregará até mesmo aquele que não é inocente. Sim, ele será entregue através da limpeza de suas mãos”.
He shall deliver the innocent, and do you save yourself by your pure hands.
