Jó 20
1 Então Zophar, o Naamathite, respondeu,
Then Sophar the Minaean answered and said,
2 “Portanto, meus pensamentos me respondem, mesmo por causa da minha pressa que está em mim.
I did not suppose that you would answer thus: neither do you understand more than I.
3 Ouvi a repreensão que me envergonha. O espírito da minha compreensão me responde.
I will hear my shameful reproach; and the spirit of my understanding answers me.
4 Don você não sabe isto dos velhos tempos, desde que o homem foi colocado na terra,
Hast you [not] known these things of old, from the time that man was set upon the earth?
5 que o triunfo dos ímpios é curto, a alegria dos ímpios, mas por um momento?
But the mirth of the ungodly is a signal downfall, and the joy of transgressors is destruction:
6 Embora sua altura se eleve até os céus, e sua cabeça alcança as nuvens,
although his gifts should go up to heaven, and his sacrifice reach the clouds.
7 yet ele perecerá para sempre como seu próprio esterco. Aqueles que o viram dirão: “Onde ele está?
For when he shall seem to be now established, then he shall utterly perish: and they that knew him shall say, Where is he?
8 Ele vai voar como um sonho, e não será encontrado. Sim, ele será afugentado como uma visão da noite.
Like a dream that has fled away, he shall not be found; and he has fled like a vision of the night.
9 O olho que o viu não o verá mais, nem seu lugar o verá mais.
The eye has looked upon him, but shall not [see him] again; and his place shall no longer perceive him.
10 Seus filhos buscarão o favor dos pobres. Suas mãos devolverão sua riqueza.
Let [his] inferiors destroy his children, and let his hands kindle the fire of sorrow.
11 Seus ossos estão cheios de sua juventude, mas a juventude se deitará com ele no pó.
His bones have been filled with [vigour of] his youth, and it shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 “Embora a maldade seja doce em sua boca, embora ele o esconda debaixo da língua,
Though evil be sweet in his mouth, [though] he will hide it under his tongue;
13 though ele o poupa, e não o deixa ir, mas mantenha-o ainda dentro de sua boca,
though he will not spare it, and will not leave it, but will keep it in the midst of his throat:
14 yet sua comida em seu intestino está virada. É o veneno da cobra dentro dele.
yet he shall not at all be able to help himself; the gall of an asp is in his belly.
15 Ele engoliu riquezas, e as vomitará novamente. Deus vai expulsá-los de sua barriga.
[His] wealth unjustly collected shall be vomited up; a messenger [of wrath] shall drag him out of his house.
16 He irá sugar o veneno da cobra. A língua da víbora vai matá-lo.
And let him suck the poison of serpents, and let the serpent's tongue kill him.
17 Ele não vai olhar para os rios, os fluxos de mel e manteiga.
Let him not see the milk of the pastures, nor the supplies of honey and butter.
18 Ele vai restaurar aquilo pelo qual trabalhou e não vai engolir. Ele não se regozijará de acordo com a substância que recebeu.
He has laboured unprofitably and in vain, [for] wealth of which he shall not taste: [it is] as a lean thing, unfit for food, which he can’t swallow.
19 Pois ele tem oprimido e abandonado os pobres. Ele tirou violentamente uma casa e não vai construí-la.
For he has broken down the houses of many mighty men: and he has plundered an habitation, though he built [it] not.
20 “Porque ele não conhecia nenhum sossego dentro dele, ele não salvará nada daquilo em que ele se deleita.
There is no security to his possessions; he shall not be saved by his desire.
21 Não havia mais nada que ele não devorasse, portanto, sua prosperidade não perdurará.
There is nothing remaining of his provisions; therefore his goods shall not flourish.
22 Na plenitude de sua suficiência, a angústia o ultrapassará. A mão de todos que estão na miséria virá sobre ele.
But when he shall seem to be just satisfied, he shall be straitened; and all distress shall come upon him.
23 Quando ele estiver prestes a encher sua barriga, Deus lançará sobre ele a ferocidade de sua ira. Vai chover sobre ele enquanto ele come.
If by any means he would fill his belly, let [God] send upon him the fury of wrath; let him bring a torrent of pains upon him.
24 He irá fugir da arma de ferro. A seta de bronze o atingirá através dele.
And he shall by no means escape from the power of the sword; let the brazen bow wound him.
25 Ele o tira para fora, e ele sai de seu corpo. Sim, o ponto cintilante sai de seu fígado. Os terrores estão sobre ele.
And let the arrow pierce through his body; and let the stars be against his dwelling-place: let terrors come upon him.
26 Toda a escuridão é depositada para seus tesouros. Um incêndio não planejado o devorará. Ele consumirá o que for deixado em sua tenda.
And let all darkness wait for him: a fire that burns not out shall consume him; and let a stranger plague his house.
27 Os céus revelarão sua iniqüidade. A terra se levantará contra ele.
And let the heaven reveal his iniquities, and the earth rise up against him.
28 O aumento de sua casa irá partir. Eles se apressarão no dia de sua ira.
Let destruction bring his house to an end; let a day of wrath come upon him.
29 Esta é a porção de um homem perverso de Deus, a herança a ele designada por Deus”.
This is the portion of an ungodly man from the Lord, and the possession of his goods [appointed him] by the all-seeing [God].
