Jó 17
1 “Meu espírito está consumido. Meus dias estão extintos e o túmulo está pronto para mim.
My breath is corrupt: my dayes are cut off, and the graue is readie for me.
2 Com certeza, há zombadores comigo. Meu olho se detém na provocação deles.
There are none but mockers with mee, and mine eye continueth in their bitternesse.
3 “Agora dê um juramento. Seja uma garantia para mim com você mesmo. Quem vai bater as mãos comigo?
Lay downe nowe and put me in suretie for thee: who is hee, that will touch mine hand?
4 Pois você escondeu o coração deles da compreensão, portanto, você não os exaltará.
For thou hast hid their heart from vnderstanding: therefore shalt thou not set them vp on hie.
5 Aquele que denuncia seus amigos por saque, até mesmo os olhos de seus filhos falharão.
For the eyes of his children shall faile, that speaketh flattery to his friends.
6 “Mas ele me fez uma palavra de ordem do povo. Eles cuspiram na minha cara.
Hee hath also made mee a byword of the people, and I am as a Tabret before them.
7 Meu olho também está embaçado por causa da dor. Todos os meus membros são como uma sombra.
Mine eye therefore is dimme for griefe, and all my strength is like a shadowe.
8 Os homens íntegros ficarão espantados com isso. O inocente se agitará contra o ímpio.
The righteous shalbe astonied at this, and the innocent shalbe moued against ye hypocrite.
9 No entanto, os justos se agarrarão a seu caminho. Aquele que tem as mãos limpas se tornará cada vez mais forte.
But the righteous wil holde his way, and he whose hands are pure, shall increase his strength.
10 Mas, quanto a todos vocês, voltem. Não vou encontrar um homem sábio entre vocês.
All you therefore turne you, and come nowe, and I shall not finde one wise among you.
11 Meus dias já passaram. Meus planos estão rompidos, como são os pensamentos do meu coração.
My dayes are past, mine enterprises are broken, and the thoughts of mine heart
12 Eles transformam a noite em dia, dizendo “A luz está próxima” na presença da escuridão.
Haue changed the nyght for the day, and the light that approched, for darkenesse.
13 Se eu procuro o Sheol como minha casa, se eu tiver espalhado meu sofá na escuridão, (Sheol h7585)
Though I hope, yet the graue shall bee mine house, and I shall make my bed in the darke. (Sheol h7585)
14 if Eu disse à corrupção: 'Você é meu pai'. e ao verme, “Minha mãe,” e “Minha irmã,
I shall say to corruption, Thou art my father, and to the worme, Thou art my mother and my sister.
15 onde então está minha esperança? Quanto à minha esperança, quem a verá?
Where is then now mine hope? or who shall consider the thing, that I hoped for?
