Jeremias 48
1 De Moab. Yahweh dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Ai do Nebo! Pois é um desperdício colocado. O Kiriathaim está desapontado. É tomada. Misgab é envergonhado e decomposto.
Against Moab thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Woe to Nabo, for it is laid waste, and confounded: Cariathaim is taken: the strong city is confounded and hath trembled.
2 Os elogios de Moab já não são mais. Em Heshbon, eles inventaram o mal contra ela: Venha! Vamos impedi-la de ser uma nação”. Você também, Madmen, será levado ao silêncio. A espada o perseguirá.
There is no more rejoicing in Moab over Hesebon: they have devised evil. Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Therefore shalt thou in silence hold thy peace, and the sword shall follow thee.
3 O som de um grito de Horonaim, desolação e grande destruição!
A voice of crying from Oronaim: waste, and great destruction.
4 Moab é destruído. Seus pequeninos fizeram com que um grito fosse ouvido.
Moab is destroyed: proclaim a cry for her little ones.
5 Pois eles subirão pela subida de Luhith com lágrimas contínuas. Pois na descida de Horonaim eles ouviram a angústia do grito de destruição.
For by the ascent of Luith shall the mourner go up with weeping: for in the descent of Oronaim the enemies have heard a howling of destruction.
6 Fuja! Salvem suas vidas! Ser como o arbusto do zimbro no deserto.
Flee, save your lives: and be as heath in the wilderness.
7 Pois, porque você tem confiado em suas obras e em seus tesouros, você também será levado. Chemosh sairá para o cativeiro, seus padres e seus príncipes juntos.
For because thou hast trusted in thy bulwarks, and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chamos shall go into captivity, his priests, and his princes together.
8 O contratorpedeiro virá em todas as cidades, e nenhuma cidade escapará; o vale também perecerá, e a planície será destruída, como Yahweh já falou.
And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: and the valleys shall perish, and the plains shall be destroyed, for the Lord hath spoken:
9 Dê as asas à Moab, que ela possa voar e se afastar: e suas cidades se tornarão uma desolação, sem ninguém para morar neles.
Give a flower to Moab, for in its flower it shall go out: and the cities thereof shall be desolate, and uninhabited.
10 “Maldito é aquele que faz o trabalho de Javé de forma negligente; e amaldiçoado é aquele que mantém sua espada longe do sangue.
Cursed be he that doth the work of the Lord deceitfully: and cursed be he that withholdeth his sword from blood.
11 “Moab tem estado à vontade desde sua juventude, e ele se acomodou em suas borras, e não foi esvaziado de navio para navio, nem ele foi para o cativeiro; portanto, seu gosto permanece nele, e seu cheiro não é alterado.
Moab hath been fruitful from his youth, and hath rested upon his lees: and hath not been poured out from vessel to vessel, nor hath gone into captivity: therefore his taste hath remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 Portanto, eis que os dias vêm”, diz Yahweh, “que eu lhe enviarei aqueles que despejarem”, e eles o despejarão; e eles esvaziarão suas embarcações, e quebrar seus recipientes em pedaços.
Therefore behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will send him men that shall order and overturn his bottles, and they shall cast him down, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles one against another.
13 Moab terá vergonha de Chemosh, como a casa de Israel tinha vergonha de Betel, sua confiança.
And Moab shall be ashamed of Chamos, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, in which they trusted.
14 “Como se diz: “Somos homens poderosos”, e homens corajosos para a guerra”?
How do you say: We are valiant, and stout men in battle?
15 Moab é um resíduo depositado, e eles subiram em suas cidades, e seus jovens escolhidos foram para o abate”. diz o Rei, cujo nome é Yahweh dos Exércitos.
Moab is laid waste, and they have cast down her cities: and her choice young men are gone down to the slaughter: saith the king, whose name is the Lord of hosts.
16 “A calamidade de Moab está próxima de chegar, e sua aflição se apressa rapidamente.
The destruction of Moab is near to come: the calamity thereof shall come on exceeding swiftly.
17 Todos vocês que estão ao seu redor, lamentam-no; e todos vocês que conhecem seu nome, dizem, “Como o pessoal forte está quebrado”, a bela vara”!
Comfort him, all you that are round about him, and all you that know his name, say: How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod?
18 “Sua filha que mora em Dibon, desça de sua glória, e sentar-se na sede; pois o destruidor de Moab se deparou com você. Ele destruiu seus bastiões.
Come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst, O dwelling of the daughter of Dibon: because the spoiler of Moab is come up to thee, he hath destroyed thy bulwarks.
19 Habitante de Aroer, fique a caminho e assista. Pergunte a ele quem foge, e a ela quem foge; dizer: “O que foi feito?
Stand in the way, and look out, O habitation of Aroer: inquire of him that fleeth: and say to him that hath escaped: What Is done?
20 Moab está desapontado; pois está quebrado. Lamentai e chorai! Diga pelo Arnon, que o Moab é um resíduo.
Moab is confounded, because he is overthrown: howl ye, and cry, tell ye it in Amen, that Moab is wasted.
21 O julgamento foi feito no país simples... em Holon, em Jahzah, em Mephaath,
And judgment is come upon the plain country: upon Helon, and upon Jasa, and upon Mephaath.
22 em Dibon, em Nebo, em Beth Diblathaim,
And upon Dibon, and upon Nabo, and upon the house of Deblathaim,
23 sobre Kiriathaim, sobre Beth Gamul, sobre Beth Meon,
And upon Cariathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmaon,
24 em Kerioth, em Bozrah, e em todas as cidades da terra de Moab, longe ou perto.
And upon Carioth, and upon Bosra: and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25 O chifre de Moab está cortado, e seu braço está quebrado”, diz Yahweh.
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
26 “Deixe-o bêbado, pois ele se engrandeceu contra Yahweh. Moab vai chafurdar em seu vômito, e ele também estará em zombaria.
Make him drunk, because he lifted up himself against the Lord: and Moab shall dash his hand in his own vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
27 Pois Israel não foi um escárnio para você? Ele foi encontrado entre ladrões? Por todas as vezes que você fala dele, você abana a cabeça.
For Israel hath been a derision unto thee: as though thou hadst found him amongst thieves: for thy words therefore, which thou hast spoken against him, thou shalt be led away captive.
28 Vocês, habitantes de Moab, deixam as cidades e moram na rocha. Seja como a pomba que faz seu ninho sobre a boca do abismo.
Leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, you that dwell in Moab: and be ye like the dove that maketh her nest in the mouth of the hole in the highest place.
29 “Já ouvimos falar do orgulho de Moab. Ele está muito orgulhoso de sua altura, de seu orgulho, sua arrogância, e a arrogância de seu coração.
We have heard the pride of Moab, he is exceeding proud: his haughtiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the loftiness of his heart.
30 Eu conheço sua ira”, diz Yahweh, “que não é nada”; suas jactâncias não fizeram nada.
I know, saith the Lord, his boasting, and that the strength thereof is not according to it, neither hath it endeavoured to do according as it was able.
31 Portanto, lamentarei por Moab. Sim, eu clamarei por todos os Moab. Eles farão o luto pelos homens de Kir Heres.
Therefore will I lament for Moab, and I will cry out to all Moab, for the men of the brick wall that mourn.

O vineyard of Sabama, I will weep for thee, with the mourning of Jazer: thy branches are gone over the sea, they are come even to the sea of Jazer: the robber hath rushed in upon thy harvest and thy vintage.

Joy and gladness is taken away from Carmel, and from the land of Moab, and I have taken away the wine out of the presses: the treader of the grapes shall not sing the accustomed cheerful tune.
34 Desde o grito de Heshbon até a Elealeh, mesmo para Jahaz, eles pronunciaram sua voz, desde Zoar até Horonaim, passando por Eglath Shelishiyah; pois as águas de Nimrim também se tornarão desoladas.
From the cry of Hesebon even to Eleale, and to Jasa, they have uttered their voice: from Segor to Oronaim, as a heifer of three years old: the waters also of Nemrim shall be very bad.
35 Moreover Vou fazer cessar em Moab”, diz Yahweh, “aquele que oferece no lugar alto, e aquele que queima incenso para seus deuses.
And I will take away from Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth in the high places, and that sacrificeth to his gods.
36 Portanto, meu coração soa para Moab como flautas, e meu coração soa como flautas para os homens de Kir Heres. Portanto, a abundância que ele obteve pereceu.
Therefore my heart shall sound for Moab like pipes: and my heart a sound like pipes for the men of the brick wall: because he hath done more than he could, therefore they have perished.
37 Para cada cabeça é careca, e cada barba cortada. Há recortes em todas as mãos, e pano de saco na cintura.
For every head shall be bald, and every beard shall be shaven: all hands shall be tied together, and upon every back there shall be haircloth.
38 Em todos os telhados da casa de Moab, e, em suas ruas, há lamentações por toda parte; pois quebrei o Moab como um navio no qual ninguém se deleita”, diz Yahweh.
Upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof general mourning: because I have broken Moab as an useless vessel, saith the Lord.
39 “Como está quebrado! Como eles lamentam! Como Moab virou as costas com vergonha! Assim Moab se tornará um escárnio e um terror para todos os que estão ao seu redor”.
How is it overthrown, and they have howled! How hath Moab bowed down the neck, and is confounded! And Moab shall be a derision, and an example to all round about him.
40 Para Iavé diz: “Eis que ele voará como uma águia”, e estenderá suas asas contra Moab.
Thus saith the Lord: Behold he shall fly as an eagle, and shall stretch forth his wings to Moab.
41 Kerioth é tomado, e as fortalezas são apreendidas. O coração dos homens poderosos de Moab naquele dia será como o coração de uma mulher em suas dores.
Carioth is taken, and the strong holds are won: and the heart of the valiant men of Moab in that day shall be as the heart of a woman in labour.
42 Moab será destruído por ser um povo, porque ele se engrandeceu contra Yahweh.
And Moab shall cease to be a people: because he hath gloried against the Lord.
43 Terror, o poço e a armadilha estão sobre você, habitante de Moab”, diz Yahweh.
Fear, and the pit, and the snare come upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.
44 “Aquele que foge do terror cairá no poço; e aquele que se levantar do poço será levado na armadilha, pois eu o trarei, mesmo em Moab, o ano de sua visitação”, diz Yahweh.
He that shall flee from the fear, shall fall into the pit: and he that shall get up out of the pit, shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon Moab the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.
45 “Aqueles que fugiram ficam de pé sem forças sob a sombra de Heshbon; por um incêndio que saiu de Heshbon, e uma chama do meio de Sihon, e devorou a esquina da Moab, e a coroa da cabeça dos tumultuados.
They that fled from the snare stood in the shadow of Hesebon: but there came a fire out of Kesebon, and a flame out of the midst of Seen, and it shall devour part of Moab. and the crown of the head of the children of tumult.
46 Ai de você, ó Moab! As pessoas de Chemosh estão desfeitas; para seus filhos são levados em cativeiro, e suas filhas em cativeiro.
Woe to thee, Moab, thou hast perished, O people of Chamos: for thy sons, and thy daughters are taken captives.
47 “No entanto, nos últimos dias, vou reverter o cativeiro de Moab”. diz Yahweh. Até agora é o julgamento de Moab.
And I will bring back the captivity of Moab in the last days, saith the Lord. Hitherto the judgments of Moab.
