Jeremias 47

1 A palavra de Yahweh que chegou a Jeremias, o profeta, a respeito dos filisteus, antes do Faraó atingir Gaza.

2 diz Yahweh: “Eis que as águas sobem do norte, e se tornará um fluxo transbordante, e transbordará a terra e tudo o que nela se encontra, a cidade e aqueles que nela habitam. Os homens vão chorar, e todos os habitantes da terra irão lamentar.

3 Ao ruído da estampagem dos cascos de seus cascos fortes, na correria de suas carruagens, no estrondo de suas rodas, os pais não olham para trás para seus filhos porque suas mãos são tão débeis,

for the noise of boost of armed men, and of werriours of hym, and for mouyng of hise cartis, and multitude of hise wheelis. Fadris bihelden not sones with clumsid hondis,

4 por causa do dia que vem para destruir todos os filisteus, para cortar de Tyre e Sidon todos os ajudantes que restarem; para Yahweh destruirá os filisteus, o remanescente da ilha de Caphtor.

7 “Como você pode ficar quieto? desde que Yahweh lhe deu um comando? Contra Ashkelon, e contra a orla marítima, lá ele o nomeou”.

Hou schal it reste, whanne the Lord comaundide to it ayens Ascalon, and ayens the see coostis therof, and there hath seide to it?
