Jeremias 46
1 A palavra de Yahweh que chegou a Jeremias, o profeta, a respeito das nações.
The word of Jehovah which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
2 Do Egito: sobre o exército do Faraó Neco, rei do Egito, que estava junto ao rio Eufrates em Carchemish, que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, atingiu no quarto ano de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá.
Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh-neco king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.
3 “Prepare o balde e o escudo, e se aproximar para a batalha!
Prepare ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
4 Aproveitem os cavalos e levantem-se, seus cavaleiros, e levantem-se com seus capacetes. Polir as lanças, colocar os casacos de correio.
Harness the horses, and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail.
5 Por que eu já vi isso? Eles estão consternados e recuados. Seus poderosos são espancados, fugiram à pressa, e não olhe para trás. O terror está de todos os lados”. diz Yahweh.
Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.
6 “Não deixe o rápido fugir, nem a fuga do homem poderoso. No norte, junto ao rio Eufrates eles tropeçaram e caíram.
Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen.
7 “Quem é este que se levanta como o Nilo, como rios cujas águas sobem?
Who is this that riseth up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?
8 O Egito se eleva como o Nilo, como rios cujas águas sobem. Ele diz: “Eu me levantarei”. Cobrirei a terra”. Vou destruir cidades e seus habitantes”.
Egypt riseth up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he saith, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and the inhabitants thereof.
9 Subam, seus cavalos! Raiva, seus carruagens! Deixe os homens poderosos saírem: Cush and Put, que maneja o escudo; e os Ludim, que manuseiam e dobram o arco.
Go up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, that handle the shield; and the Ludim, that handle and bend the bow.
10 Pois esse dia é do Senhor, Yahweh dos Exércitos, um dia de vingança, que ele possa vingar-se de seus adversários. A espada devorará e será saciada, e beberá o seu sangue; pois o Senhor, Yahweh dos Exércitos, tem um sacrifício no país do norte, junto ao rio Eufrates.
For that day is [a day] of the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
11 Vá até Gilead e tome bálsamo, filha virgem do Egito. Você usa muitos medicamentos em vão. Não há cura para você.
Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain dost thou use many medicines; there is no healing for thee.
12 As nações já ouviram falar de sua vergonha, e a terra está cheia de seu choro; pois o homem poderoso tropeçou contra os poderosos, ambos caem juntos”.
The nations have heard of thy shame, and the earth is full of thy cry; for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.
13 A palavra que Javé falou a Jeremias o profeta, como Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, deveria vir e atingir a terra do Egito:
The word that Jehovah spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
14 “Declare in Egypt, publicar em Migdol, e publicar em Memphis e em Tahpanhes; dizer: 'Levante-se e prepare-se, pois a espada devorou ao seu redor”.
Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand forth, and prepare thee; for the sword hath devoured round about thee.
15 Por que seus fortes são varridos? Eles não ficaram de pé, porque Yahweh os empurrou.
Why are thy strong ones swept away? they stood not, because Jehovah did drive them.
16 Ele fez muitos para tropeçar. Sim, eles caíram uns sobre os outros. Eles disseram: 'Levantem-se! Vamos novamente ao nosso próprio povo”, e para a terra do nosso nascimento, da espada opressora”.
He made many to stumble, yea, they fell one upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
17 Eles gritaram lá: 'O Faraó rei do Egito é apenas um barulho'; ele deixou passar o tempo designado”.
They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath let the appointed time pass by.
18 “Como eu vivo”, diz o Rei, cujo nome é Yahweh dos exércitos, “certamente como o Tabor entre as montanhas”, e como Carmel junto ao mar, portanto, ele virá.
As I live, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
19 Sua filha que mora no Egito, mobiliar-se para ir para o cativeiro; para Memphis se tornará uma desolação, e será queimado, sem habitante.
O thou daughter that dwellest in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up, without inhabitant.
20 “O Egito é uma novilha muito bonita; mas a destruição do norte já chegou. Chegou.
Egypt is a very fair heifer; [but] destruction out of the north is come, it is come.
21 Também seus homens contratados no meio dela são como bezerros do estábulo, pois eles também voltam atrás. Eles fugiram juntos. Eles não ficaram de pé, pois o dia de sua calamidade chegou sobre eles, o momento de sua visita.
Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand: for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation.
22 Seu som irá como a serpente, pois eles marcharão com um exército, e vêm contra ela com machados, como cortadores de madeira.
The sound thereof shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
23 Eles cortarão sua floresta”, diz Yahweh, “embora não possa ser pesquisado; porque eles são mais do que os gafanhotos, e são inumeráveis.
They shall cut down her forest, saith Jehovah, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
24 A filha do Egito ficará desapontada; ela será entregue nas mãos do povo do norte”.
The daughter of Egypt shall be put to shame; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
25 Yahweh dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Eis que castigarei Amon de Não, e Faraó, e Egito, com seus deuses e seus reis, até mesmo o Faraó, e aqueles que confiam nele.
Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him:
26 Eu os entregarei na mão daqueles que procuram suas vidas, e na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e na mão de seus servos”. Depois será habitada, como nos velhos tempos”, diz Yahweh.
and I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith Jehovah.
27 “Mas não tenha medo, Jacob meu servo. Não fique consternado, Israel; pois, eis que eu o salvarei de longe, e sua descendência da terra de seu cativeiro. Jacob retornará, e estará tranqüilo e à vontade. Ninguém o fará ter medo.
But fear not thou, O Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
28 Não tenha medo, ó Jacob meu servo”, diz Yahweh, “pois estou com você”; pois farei um fim completo de todas as nações para onde os conduzi, mas não farei de vocês um fim completo, mas vou corrigi-lo na medida certa, e de forma alguma o deixará impune”.
Fear not thou, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; for I am with thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee; but I will not make a full end of thee, but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished.
