Jeremias 35
1 A palavra que veio de Javé a Jeremias nos dias de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, dizendo:
The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
2 “Ide à casa dos recabitas, falai com eles, e levai-os à casa de Javé, a um dos quartos, e dai-lhes vinho para beber”.
Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of Jehovah, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3 Depois levei Jaazanias, filho de Jeremias, filho de Habazzinias, com seus irmãos, todos os seus filhos e toda a casa dos recabitas;
Then I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites,
4 e os trouxe para a casa de Yahweh, para o quarto dos filhos de Hanan, filho de Igdaliah, o homem de Deus, que estava junto ao quarto dos príncipes, que estava acima do quarto de Maaséias, filho de Shallum, o guardião da soleira.
and brought them into the house of Jehovah, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door.
5 Coloquei diante dos filhos da casa dos recabitas taças cheias de vinho, e taças; e lhes disse: “Bebam vinho!
And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine and cups, and I said to them, “Drink ye wine.”
6 Mas eles disseram: “Não beberemos vinho; pois Jonadab, o filho de Rechab, nosso pai, nos ordenou, dizendo: 'Não bebereis vinho, nem vós nem vossos filhos, para sempre'.
But they said, “We will not drink wine; for Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, ye nor your sons, forever;
7 Não construirás uma casa, não semearás semente, não plantarás uma vinha, nem terás nenhuma; mas todos os teus dias habitarás em tendas, para que vivas muitos dias na terra em que vives como nômades”.
neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents, that ye may live long in the land wherein ye are strangers.
8 Obedecemos à voz de Jonadab, o filho de Rechab, nosso pai, em tudo o que ele nos ordenou, de não beber vinho todos os nossos dias, nós, nossas esposas, nossos filhos ou nossas filhas;
And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters;
9 e de não construir casas para nós mesmos habitarmos. Não temos vinha, campo ou semente;
nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed;
10 mas vivemos em barracas, e obedecemos, e fizemos de acordo com tudo o que Jonadab nosso pai nos ordenou.
but we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us.
11 Mas quando Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, subiu à terra, dissemos: 'Venha! Vamos a Jerusalém por medo do exército dos caldeus, e por medo do exército dos sírios; assim habitaremos em Jerusalém””.
But it came to pass when Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldaeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Jerusalem.”
12 Então veio a palavra de Javé a Jeremias, dizendo:
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying,
13 “Javé dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: 'Vá e diga aos homens de Judá e aos habitantes de Jerusalém: “Não receberão instrução para ouvir minhas palavras?” diz Javé.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and say to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will ye not receive instruction, to hearken to my words? saith Jehovah.
14 “As palavras de Jonadab, filho de Rechab, que ele ordenou a seus filhos que não bebessem vinho, são executadas; e até hoje eles não bebem nenhuma, pois obedecem ao mandamento de seu pai; mas eu vos falei, levantando-me cedo e falando, e vós não me escutastes.
The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have been performed; for they have drunk no wine to this day, but have obeyed the commandment of their father. I also have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking, but ye have not hearkened to me.
15 Enviei também a vós todos os meus servos, os profetas, levantando-se cedo e enviando-os, dizendo: 'Cada um de vós deve voltar agora de seu mau caminho, emendar seus atos e não ir atrás de outros deuses para servi-los'. Então habitareis na terra que vos dei e a vossos pais;' mas não inclinastes vossos ouvidos, nem me escutastes.
And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every one from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.
16 Os filhos de Jonadab, o filho de Rechab, cumpriram o mandamento de seu pai que ele lhes ordenou, mas este povo não me escutou”'.
Since then the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, and this people have not hearkened to me;
17 “Portanto, Javé, o Deus dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: 'Eis que trarei sobre Judá e sobre todos os habitantes de Jerusalém todo o mal que pronunciei contra eles, porque lhes falei, mas eles não ouviram; e eu os chamei, mas eles não responderam'”.
therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, all the evil which I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, and they have not hearkened, and I have called to them, and they have not answered.
18 Jeremias disse à casa dos recabitas: “Javé dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: 'Porque obedecestes ao mandamento de Jonadab vosso pai, e guardastes todos os seus preceitos, e fizestes conforme tudo o que ele vos ordenou',
And to the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all which he commanded you,
19 portanto Javé dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, diz: 'Jonadab, o filho de Recabe, não lhe faltará um homem para estar diante de mim para sempre'”.
therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: There shall not fail in the land of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, men to stand before me forever.
