Jeremias 22
1 Yahweh disse: “Vá até a casa do rei de Judá, e fale esta palavra lá:
Thus said the Lord, Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word;
2 'Ouça a palavra de Javé, rei de Judá, que está sentado no trono de Davi - você, seus servos, e seu povo que entra por estes portões.
And thou shalt say, Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
3 Yahweh diz: “Executem justiça e retidão, e libertem aquele que for roubado da mão do opressor”. Não cometa nenhum erro. Não faça violência ao estrangeiro, ao órfão de pai, ou à viúva. Não derrame sangue inocente neste lugar.
Thus hath said the Lord, Execute ye justice and righteousness, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor; and the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow shall ye not oppress, and do them no violence, and shed no innocent blood in this place.
4 Pois se você fizer isso de fato, então os reis sentados no trono de Davi entrarão pelas portas desta casa, cavalgando em carruagens e em cavalos - eles, seus servos e seu povo.
For if ye indeed will do this thing, then shall enter in through the gates of this house kings sitting after David upon his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
5 Mas se não ouvirdes estas palavras, juro por mim mesmo”, diz Yahweh, “que esta casa se tornará uma desolação”'”.
But if ye will not hear these words, then do I swear by myself, saith the Lord, that this house shall become a ruin.
6 Para Iavé diz a respeito da casa do rei de Judá: “Para mim, você é Gilead, o chefe do Líbano. No entanto, certamente farei de você um sertão selvagem, cidades que não são habitadas.
For thus hath said the Lord concerning the house of the king of Judah, A Gil'ad [though] thou art unto me, a summit of the Lebanon: yet I will surely change thee into a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.
7 Prepararei os destruidores contra vocês, todos com suas armas, e eles cortarão os cedros de sua escolha, e jogá-los no fogo.
And I will make ready against thee destroyers, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down the choice of thy cedars, and cast them into the fire.
8 “Muitas nações passarão por esta cidade, e cada uma perguntará a seu vizinho: 'Por que Javé fez isto a esta grande cidade?
And [when] many nations [then] pass by this city, they will say every man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath the Lord done the like unto this great city?
9 Então eles responderão: 'Porque abandonaram o pacto de Javé seu Deus, adoraram outros deuses, e os serviram'”.
Then shall they say, Because they had forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and bowed down unto other gods, and served them.
10 Não chore pelos mortos. Não o lamente; mas choramos amargamente por aquele que vai embora, pois ele não voltará mais, e não ver seu país natal.
Weep not for the dead, and do not bemoan him: weep sorely for him that goeth away; for he shall never return any more, and see the land of his birth.
11 Pois Yahweh diz tocando Shallum o filho de Josias, rei de Judá, que reinou no lugar de Josias, seu pai, e que saiu deste lugar: “Ele não voltará mais lá”.
For thus hath said the Lord respecting Shallum the son of Josiah the king of Judah, who reigneth in the place of Josiah his father, who is gone forth out of this place, He shall never return thither any more;
12 Mas ele morrerá no lugar onde eles o levaram cativo. Ele não verá mais esta terra”.
But in the place whither they have led him into exile, there shall he die; but this land shall he not see any more.
13 “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteteousness”, e seus quartos por injustiça; que usa o serviço de seu vizinho sem remuneração, e não lhe dá sua contratação;
Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; that maketh his neighbor work without wages, and giveth him not the reward for his labor;
14 que diz: 'Vou construir uma casa ampla e quartos espaçosos'. e corta janelas para si mesmo, com um teto de cedro, e pintado de vermelho.
That saith, I will build me a roomy house, and ample chambers, and cutteth himself out windows, and ceileth it with cedar, and painteth it with colors.
15 “Você deveria reinar porque você se esforça para se sobressair em cedro? Seu pai não comeu e não bebeu, e fazer justiça e retidão? Depois foi bem com ele.
Shalt thou reign, because thou strivest to excel with cedar buildings? behold, thy father ate and drank, but he executed justice and righteousness: then was it well with him!
16 Ele julgou a causa dos pobres e necessitados; então, foi bem. Isto não era para me conhecer?” diz Yahweh.
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then was it well: is not this the proper knowledge of me? saith the Lord.
17 Mas seus olhos e seu coração são apenas para sua cobiça, por derramamento de sangue inocente, pela opressão, e por fazer violência”.
But thy eyes and thy heart are directed on nothing but upon thy own gain, and upon innocent blood to shed it, and upon oppression, and upon extortion, to practise them.
18 Portanto Yahweh diz a respeito de Jehoiakim, o filho de Josias, rei de Judá: “Eles não vão lamentar por ele, dizendo: “Ah meu irmão!” ou, “Ah irmã!”. Eles não vão lamentar por ele, dizendo “Ah, Senhor!” ou “Ah, sua glória!
Therefore thus hath said the Lord concerning Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, They shall not lament for him, with, “Woe, my brother!” and, “Woe, sister!” they shall not lament for him, with “Woe, lord!” and, “Woe, to his glory!”
19 Ele será enterrado com o enterro de um burro, arrastados e expulsos para além das portas de Jerusalém”.
With the burial of an ass shall he be buried, dragged about and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
20 “Vá até o Líbano, e grite. Levante sua voz em Bashan, e choro de Abarim; para todos os seus amantes foram destruídos.
Ascend the Lebanon, and cry aloud; and let thy voice resound in Bashan; and cry aloud from 'Aharim; for crushed are all thy lovers.
21 Eu falei com você em sua prosperidade, mas você disse: “Eu não vou ouvir”. Este tem sido o seu caminho desde a sua juventude, que você não obedeceu à minha voz.
I spoke unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy very youth, that thou didst not hearken to my voice.
22 O vento vai alimentar todos os seus pastores, e seus amantes irão para o cativeiro. Certamente então você vai se envergonhar e confundido por toda sua maldade.
The wind shall scatter abroad all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded because of all thy wickedness.
23 Habitante do Líbano, que faz seu ninho nos cedros, o quanto você vai ter pena de você quando as dores vierem sobre você, a dor como a de uma mulher em trabalho!
O inhabitress of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how full of grace wilt thou be! when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
24 “Como eu vivo”, diz Javé, “embora Coniah, o filho de Jeoiaquim, rei de Judá, fosse o signatário à minha direita, eu ainda o arrancaria dali”.
As I live, saith the Lord, though Conyahu the son of Jehoyakim the king of Judah were a signet upon my right hand, yet for a surety would I thence pluck thee;
25 Eu o entregaria na mão daqueles que procuram sua vida, e na mão daqueles de quem você tem medo, até mesmo na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e na mão dos caldeus”.
And I will give thee into the hand of those that seek thy life, and into the hand of those of whom thou art afraid, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
26 Eu te expulsarei com tua mãe que te levou para outro país, onde não nasceste; e lá morrerás.
And I will hurl thee out, and thy mother that hath born thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
27 Mas para a terra à qual sua alma deseja voltar, lá eles não voltarão”.
But to the land whitherward they direct their soul to return, thither shall they not return.
28 Este homem Coniah é um vaso desprezado e quebrado? Ele é um navio no qual ninguém se deleita? Por que eles são expulsos, ele e sua prole, e lançadas em uma terra que eles não conhecem?
Is this man Conyahu a despised broken image? or a vessel without value? wherefore are they hurled out, he and his seed, and are cast forth into a land which they know not?
29 O terra, terra, terra, ouça a palavra de Yahweh!
O land, land, land! hear the word of the Lord.
30 diz Yahweh, “Registre este homem como sem filhos”, um homem que não prosperará em seus dias; pois não mais um homem de sua descendência prosperará, sentado no trono de David e governando em Judá”.
Thus hath said the Lord, Write ye down this man as childless, as a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no man of his seed shall succeed to sit upon the throne of David, and to rule any more in Judah.
