Isaías 9
1 Mas não haverá mais tristeza para ela que estava em angústia. No primeiro tempo, ele desprezou a terra de Zebulom e a terra de Naftali; mas no segundo tempo ele a tornou gloriosa, pelo caminho do mar, além do Jordão, a Galiléia das nações.
Yet the darkenesse shall not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.
2 As pessoas que caminharam na escuridão viram uma grande luz. A luz brilhou sobre aqueles que viviam na terra da sombra da morte.
The people that walked in darkenes haue seene a great light: they that dwelled in the land of the shadowe of death, vpon them hath the light shined.
3 Você multiplicou a nação. Você aumentou a alegria deles. Eles se alegram diante de você de acordo com a alegria da colheita, assim como os homens se alegram quando dividem o saque.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased their ioye: they haue reioyced before thee according to the ioye in haruest, and as men reioyce when they deuide a spoyle.
4 Pelo jugo de seu fardo, e pelo bastão de seu ombro, a vara de seu opressor, vocês se quebraram como no dia de Midian.
For the yoke of their burthen, and the staffe of their shoulder and the rod of their oppressour hast thou broken as in the day of Midian.
5 Pois toda a armadura do homem armado na batalha ruidosa, e as vestes enroladas em sangue, será para queimar, combustível para o fogo.
Surely euery battell of the warriour is with noyse, and with tumbling of garments in blood: but this shall be with burning and deuouring of fire.
6 Pois uma criança nasce para nós. Um filho nos é dado; e o governo estará em seus ombros. Seu nome será chamado Conselheiro Maravilhoso, Deus Poderoso, Pai Eterno, Príncipe da Paz.
For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace,
7 Do aumento de seu governo e da paz não haverá fim, no trono de Davi, e em seu reino, para estabelecê-lo e sustentá-lo com justiça e com retidão a partir daquele momento, mesmo para sempre. O zelo de Javé dos Exércitos fará isso.
The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.
8 O Senhor enviou uma palavra para Jacob, e cai sobre Israel.
The Lord hath sent a worde into Iaakob, and it hath lighted vpon Israel.
9 All o povo saberá, incluindo Efraim e os habitantes de Samaria, que dizem com orgulho e arrogância de coração,
And all the people shall knowe, euen Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and presumption of the heart,
10 “Os tijolos caíram, mas vamos construir com pedra cortada. As figueiras de sicômoro foram cortadas, mas vamos colocar cedros em seu lugar”.
The brickes are fallen, but we will build it with hewen stones: the wilde figge trees are cut downe, but we will change them into ceders.
11 Therefore Yahweh colocará no alto contra ele os adversários de Rezin, e agitará seus inimigos,
Neuerthelesse the Lord will raise vp the aduersaries of Rezin against him, and ioyne his enemies together.
12 Os sírios na frente, e os filisteus por trás; e eles devorarão Israel de boca aberta. Por tudo isso, sua raiva não é desviada, mas sua mão ainda está estendida.
Aram before and the Philistims behinde, and they shall deuoure Israel with open mouth: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 No entanto, as pessoas não se voltaram para aquele que as atingiu, nem procuraram o Yahweh dos exércitos.
For the people turneth not vnto him that smiteth them, neither doe they seeke the Lord of hostes.
14 Therefore Yahweh cortará a cabeça e a cauda de Israel, ramo de palma e palheta, em um dia.
Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.
15 O ancião e o homem honrado é o chefe, e o profeta que ensina mentiras é a cauda.
The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.
16 Para aqueles que conduzem este povo, os desviam; e aqueles que são liderados por eles são destruídos.
For the leaders of the people cause them to erre: and they that are led by them are deuoured.
17 Portanto, o Senhor não se regozijará com seus jovens, nem terá compaixão de seus órfãos e viúvas; para todos é profano e um malfeitor, e cada boca fala loucuras. Por tudo isso, sua raiva não é desviada, mas sua mão ainda está estendida.
Therefore shall the Lord haue no pleasure in their yong men, neither will he haue compassion of their fatherlesse and of their widowes: for euery one is an hypocrite and wicked, and euery mouth speaketh follie: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out stil.
18 Pois a maldade queima como uma fogueira. Ela devora os sarças e os espinhos; sim, ele se acende na mata da floresta, e eles rolam para cima em uma coluna de fumaça.
For wickednesse burneth as a fire: it deuoureth the briers and the thornes and will kindle in the thicke places of the forest: and they shall mount vp like the lifting vp of smoke.
19 Através da ira de Yahweh dos exércitos, a terra é queimada; e as pessoas são o combustível para o fogo. Ninguém poupa seu irmão.
By the wrath of the Lord of hostes shall the land be darkened, and the people shall be as the meate of ye fire: no man shall spare his brother.
20 Uma pessoa devorará na mão direita, e terá fome; e ele comerá na mão esquerda, e eles não ficarão satisfeitos. Cada um comerá a carne de seu próprio braço:
And he shall snatch at the right hand, and be hungrie: and he shall eate on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied: euery one shall eate ye flesh of his owne arme.
21 Manasseh comendo Efraim e Efraim comendo Manasseh, e juntos estarão contra Judá. Por tudo isso, sua raiva não é desviada, mas sua mão ainda está estendida.
Manasseh, Ephraim: and Ephraim Manasseh, and they both shall be against Iudah yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
