Isaías 21
1 O fardo da natureza selvagem do mar. À medida que os redemoinhos no Sul varrem, ele vem do sertão, de uma terra fantástica.
The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.
2 Uma visão dolorosa é declarada a mim. O homem traiçoeiro lida traiçoeiramente, e o destruidor destrói. Sobe, Elam; ataca! Eu parei todos os suspiros da Mídia.
A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing.
3 Portanto, minhas coxas estão cheias de angústia. As dores me tomaram, como as dores de uma mulher em trabalho de parto. Estou com tanta dor que não consigo ouvir. Estou tão consternado que não consigo ver.
Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labour. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I am so dismayed that I can’t see.
4 Meu coração treme. O horror me assustou. O crepúsculo que eu desejava se transformou em tremor para mim.
My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.
5 Eles preparam a mesa. Eles preparam o relógio. Eles comem. Eles bebem. Levantem-se, seus príncipes, olear o escudo!
They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield!
6 Pois o Senhor me disse: “Vão, ponham um vigia. Deixem-no declarar o que ele vê.
For the Lord said to me, “Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.
7 Quando ele vir uma tropa, cavaleiros aos pares, uma tropa de burros, uma tropa de camelos, ele escutará diligentemente com grande atenção”.
When he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with great attentiveness.”
8 Ele chorou como um leão: “Senhor, eu fico continuamente na torre de vigia durante o dia, e todas as noites fico no meu posto.
He cried like a lion: “Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.
9 Eis que aí vem uma tropa de homens, cavaleiros em pares”. Ele respondeu: “Caído, caído é Babilônia; e todas as imagens gravadas de seus deuses são quebradas até o chão”.
Behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs.” He answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.
10 Você é minha debulha, e o grão do meu chão”! O que ouvi de Javé dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, eu o declarei a vocês”.
You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!” That which I have heard from the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
11 O fardo da Dumah. Uma pessoa me chama de Seir: “Vigia, e a noite? Guardião, e a noite?”
The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”
12 O vigia disse: “A manhã vem, e também a noite”. Se você quiser perguntar, pergunte. Volte novamente”.
The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will enquire, enquire. Come back again.”
13 The carga sobre a Arábia. Vocês se hospedarão na mata da Arábia, suas caravanas de Dedanites.
The burden on Arabia. You will lodge in the thickets in Arabia, you caravans of Dedanites.
14 Eles trouxeram água para aquele que tinha sede. Os habitantes da terra de Tema encontraram os fugitivos com seu pão.
They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.
15 Pois eles fugiram das espadas, da espada desembainhada, do arco dobrado e do calor da batalha.
For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.
16 Pois o Senhor me disse: “Dentro de um ano, como um trabalhador vinculado por contrato o contaria, toda a glória de Kedar falhará,
For the Lord said to me, “Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail,
17 e o resíduo do número dos arqueiros, os homens poderosos dos filhos de Kedar, serão poucos; pois Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, o disse”.
and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken it.”
