Isaías 14
1 Pois Yahweh terá compaixão de Jacó, e ainda assim escolherá Israel, e os colocará em sua própria terra. O estrangeiro se unirá a eles, e eles se unirão à casa de Jacó.
For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Jacob.
2 Os povos os levarão, e os levarão para o seu lugar. A casa de Israel os possuirá na terra de Iavé para servos e para servas. Levarão como cativos aqueles de quem foram cativos; e governarão sobre seus opressores.
The peoples will take them, and bring them to their place. The house of Israel will possess them in the LORD’s land for servants and for handmaids. They will take as captives those whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
3 Acontecerá no dia em que Iavé lhe dará descanso de sua tristeza, de seus problemas e do duro serviço em que foi obrigado a servir,
It will happen in the day that the LORD will give you rest from your sorrow, from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve,
4 que você vai retomar esta parábola contra o rei da Babilônia e dizer: “Como o opressor cessou! A cidade dourada cessou!”
that you will take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, “How the oppressor has ceased! The golden city has ceased!”
5 Javé quebrou o bastão dos ímpios, o cetro dos governantes,
The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,
6 que feriu os povos em fúria com um golpe contínuo, que governou as nações em cólera, com uma perseguição que ninguém conteve.
who struck the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that no one restrained.
7 A terra inteira está em repouso e em silêncio. Eles se desdobram em canções.
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet. They break out in song.
8 Sim, os ciprestes se alegram com você, com os cedros do Líbano, dizendo: “Desde que você se humilhou, nenhum lenhador se levantou contra nós”.
Yes, the cypress trees rejoice with you, with the cedars of Lebanon, saying, “Since you are humbled, no lumberjack has come up against us.”
9 O Sheol de baixo se moveu para que você se encontre com você em sua vinda. Atiça os espíritos que partiram para você, até mesmo todos os governantes da terra. Ergueu de seus tronos todos os reis das nações. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol (Sheol h7585) from beneath has moved for you to meet you at your coming. It stirs up the departed spirits for you, even all the rulers of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
10 Todos eles responderão e lhe perguntarão: “Você também se tornou tão fraco quanto nós? Vocês se tornaram como nós”?
They all will answer and ask you, “Have you also become as weak as we are? Have you become like us?”
11 Sua pompa é levada até o Sheol, com o som de seus instrumentos de cordas. As larvas estão espalhadas sob você, e os vermes o cobrem. (Sheol h7585)
Your pomp is brought down to Sheol (Sheol h7585), with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.
12 Como você caiu do céu, brilhante, filho do amanhecer! Como tu foste cortado no chão, que derrubaste as nações!
How you have fallen from heaven, shining one, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!
13 Você disse em seu coração: “Eu subirei ao céu! Exaltarei meu trono acima das estrelas de Deus! Sentar-me-ei na montanha da assembléia, no extremo norte!
You said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the far north!
14 Subirei acima das alturas das nuvens! Far-me-ei como o Altíssimo!”
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!”
Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (Sheol h7585), to the depths of the pit.
16 Aqueles que vos virem olharão fixamente para vós. Eles o ponderarão, dizendo: “É este o homem que fez a terra tremer, que sacudiu reinos,
Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying, “Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,
17 que fez o mundo como um deserto, e derrubou suas cidades, que não libertou seus prisioneiros para sua casa”?
who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities, who did not release his prisoners to their home?”
18 Todos os reis das nações dormem em glória, todos em sua própria casa.
All the kings of the nations sleep in glory, everyone in his own house.
19 Mas você é lançado fora de seu túmulo como um ramo abominável, vestido com os mortos que são empurrados através da espada, que descem às pedras do poço; como um cadáver pisado.
But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot.
20 Você não se juntará a eles no enterro, porque destruiu sua terra. Vocês mataram seu povo. A progênie dos malfeitores não será nomeada para sempre.
You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The offspring of evildoers will not be named forever.
21 Prepare-se para o abate de seus filhos por causa da iniqüidade de seus pais, que não se levantam e possuem a terra, e enchem a superfície do mundo de cidades.
Prepare for slaughter of his children because of the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities.
22 “Eu me levantarei contra eles”, diz Yahweh dos Exércitos, “e cortarei o nome da Babilônia e os restos, e filho e filho do filho”, diz Yahweh.
“I will rise up against them,” says the LORD of Armies, “and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son’s son,” says the LORD.
23 “Também farei dela uma possessão para o porco-espinho, e piscinas de água”. Vou varrê-la com a vassoura da destruição”, diz Yahweh dos Exércitos.
“I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” says the LORD of Armies.
24 Yahweh de Exércitos jurou, dizendo: “Certamente, como eu pensei, assim acontecerá; e como eu propus, assim será:
The LORD of Armies has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
25 que quebrarei o assírio em minha terra, e o pisarei em minhas montanhas”. Então, seu jugo os deixará, e seu fardo deixará seus ombros.
that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and tread him under foot on my mountains. Then his yoke will leave them, and his burden leave their shoulders.
26 Este é o plano que é determinado para toda a terra. Esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.
This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.
27 Pois Yahweh de Exércitos planejou, e quem pode detê-lo? Sua mão está estendida, e quem pode virá-la de volta?”.
For the LORD of Armies has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”
28 Este fardo foi no ano em que o rei Ahaz morreu.
This burden was in the year that King Ahaz died.
29 Não se alegre, ó Philistia, todos vocês, porque a vara que os atingiu está quebrada; pois da raiz da serpente surgirá uma víbora, e seus frutos serão uma serpente voadora ardente.
Do not rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root an adder will emerge, and his fruit will be a fiery flying serpent.
30 O primogênito dos pobres comerá, e os necessitados se deitarão em segurança; e eu matarei sua raiz com a fome, e seu remanescente será morto.
The firstborn of the poor will eat, and the needy will lie down in safety; and I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant will be killed.
31 Howl, gate! Chora, cidade! Vocês estão derretidos, Filístia, todos vocês; pois a fumaça sai do norte, e não há nenhum estragador em suas fileiras.
Howl, gate! Cry, city! You are melted away, Philistia, all of you; for smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.
32 O que eles responderão aos mensageiros da nação? Que Yahweh fundou Zion, e nela os aflitos de seu povo se refugiarão.
What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.
