Isaías 10
1 Ai daqueles que decretam decretos iníquos, e dos escritores que escrevem decretos opressivos
Alas! for them who ordain iniquitous decrees, —And, busy writers, who make a business of writing mischief:
2 para privar os necessitados da justiça, e para roubar os pobres entre meu povo de seus direitos, para que as viúvas sejam seu saque, e para que façam dos órfãos de pai sua presa!
Turning aside from judgment, the poor, And robbing, of justice, the oppressed of my people, —So that, widows, become, their spoil, And of the fatherless, they make prey.
3 O que você fará no dia da visita, e na desolação que virá de longe? Para quem fugirá em busca de ajuda? Onde você deixará sua riqueza?
What, then, will ye do for the day of visitation, And for the devastation, which from afar, shall come? Unto whom, will ye flee for help? And where will ye leave your gory?
4 Eles só se curvarão sob os prisioneiros, e cairá sob a escravidão. Por tudo isso, sua raiva não é desviada, mas sua mão ainda está estendida.
Without me, one hath bowed under a prisoner Yea under the slain, do they fall! For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
5 Alas Assírio, a vara da minha raiva, o bastão em cuja mão está a minha indignação!
Alas! for Assyria, the rod of mine anger, —Yea, the very staff in their hand, is, my displeasure:
6 Eu o enviarei contra uma nação profana, e contra as pessoas que me enfurecem, darei a ele uma ordem para tomar o saque e a presa, e para pisá-los como a lama das ruas.
Against an irreligious nation, will I send him, Yea against the people with whom I am wroth, will I command him, —To capture spoil And lay hold on prey, And cause them to be trodden down as the mire of the lanes.
7 However, ele não quer dizer isso, nem seu coração pensa assim; mas está em seu coração destruir, e cortar não poucas nações.
But as for him, not so, doth he deem, And in his heart, not so, doth he think, —For, to destroy, is in his heart, And to cut off nations, not a few;
8 Pois ele diz: “Não são todos os meus príncipes reis?
For he saith: —Are not, my generals, all alike, kings?
9 Calno não é como Carchemish? O Hamath não é como o Arpad? Samaria não é como Damasco?”
Is not, Calno, like Carchemish? Is not, Hamath, like Arpad? Is not, Samaria, like Damascus?
10 Como minha mão encontrou os reinos dos ídolos, cujas imagens gravadas excederam as de Jerusalém e de Samaria,
As my hand hath reached unto the kingdoms of idols, —whose images did excel them of Jerusalem and Samaria,
11 não será que, como fiz com Samaria e seus ídolos, também não o farei com Jerusalém e seus ídolos?
Shall I not as I have done to Samaria and her idols, so, do to Jerusalem and her images?
12 Portanto, acontecerá que quando o Senhor tiver realizado todo o seu trabalho no Monte Sião e em Jerusalém, castigarei o fruto do coração voluntariamente orgulhoso do rei da Assíria, e a insolência de seu ar arrogante.
Wherefore it shall come to pass—When My Lord shall finish his whole work upon Mount Zion and upon Jerusalem, I will bring punishment—Upon the fruit of the greatness of heart of the king of Assyria. And upon the vainglory of his uplifted eyes,
13 Pois ele disse: “Pela força da minha mão eu o fiz, e pela minha sabedoria, pois tenho entendimento”. Removi os limites dos povos, e roubei seus tesouros. Como um homem corajoso, eu derrubei seus governantes.
For he hath said—By the strength of mine own hand, have I effectually wrought, And by my wisdom—for I have discernment, —That I might remove the bounds of peoples, Yea their treasures, have I plundered That I might lay prostrate as a mighty one the inhabitants;
14 Minha mão encontrou as riquezas dos povos como um ninho, e como se reúne os ovos que estão abandonados, reuni toda a terra. Ninguém moveu a asa, nem abriu a boca, nem chilreou”.
And my hand hath found as a nest the wealth of the peoples, And as the gathering of eggs that are forsaken, all the earth, have, I, gathered, —And there was none to flap a wing, or open a mouth or chirp.
15 Um machado deve se vangloriar contra aquele que cortar com ele? Uma serra deve se exaltar sobre aquele que a serra com ela? Como se uma vara devesse levantar aqueles que a levantam, ou como se um bastão devesse levantar alguém que não é madeira.
Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? Or, the saw, magnify itself, against him that wieldeth it? As if a rod, could wield, them who lift it up! As if a staff, could raise, what is, not wood!
16 Portanto, o Senhor, Yahweh dos Exércitos, enviará entre seus magros magros; e sob sua glória uma queima será acesa como a queima do fogo.
Therefore, shall the Lord, Yahweh of hosts, Send, among his fat ones, leanness, And under his glory, shall he kindle a kindling, like the kindling of fire;
17 A luz de Israel será para um fogo, e seu Santo para uma chama; e ele queimará e devorará seus espinhos e suas sarças em um dia.
So shall, the Light of Israel, become, a fire, And his Holy One, a flame, Which shall burn and consume his thorns and his briars, in one day;
18 Ele consumirá a glória de sua floresta e de seu campo fértil, tanto a alma quanto o corpo. Será como quando um portador padrão desmaia.
And the glory of his forest and of his garden land, both soul and body, shall it bring to an end, —And it shall be like the wasting away of a consumptive.
19 O remanescente das árvores de sua floresta será pequeno, para que uma criança possa escrever seu número.
And, the remnant of his forest-trees, few in number, shall become, —yea, a child, might describe them!
20 Acontecerá naquele dia que o remanescente de Israel, e aqueles que escaparam da casa de Jacó, não mais se apoiarão naquele que os atingiu, mas se apoiarão em Iavé, o Santo de Israel, na verdade.
And it shall come to pass in that day, That the remnant of Israel. And the escaped of the house of Jacob Shall, no more again, lean upon him that smote them, —But shall lean upon Yahweh the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 Um remanescente voltará, mesmo o remanescente de Jacó, para o Deus poderoso.
A remnant, shall return, The remnant of Jacob, —unto the mighty GOD;
22 Pois embora seu povo, Israel, seja como a areia do mar, somente um remanescente dele retornará. Uma destruição é determinada, transbordando de retidão.
For though thy people, O Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, A [mere] remnant, shall return of them, —A full end decreed, bringeth in, justice, like a flood;
23 Pois o Senhor, Javé dos Exércitos, fará um fim completo, e isso determinado, por toda a terra.
For, a full end and that a decreed one, is My Lord Yahweh of hosts executing in the midst of all the earth.
24 Portanto, o Senhor, Javé dos Exércitos, diz: “Meu povo que habita em Sião, não tenha medo do assírio, ainda que ele lhe bata com a vara, e levante seu bastão contra você, como fez o Egito”.
Therefore, thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, Do not fear O my people dwelling in Zion, because of Assyria, —When with his rod, he would smite thee, And when his staff, he would lift up against thee in the manner of Egypt;
25 Por muito pouco tempo ainda, e a indignação contra vocês será consumada, e minha raiva será direcionada à sua destruição”.
For, yet a very little while, and displeasure shall end, Yea, mine anger, over their destruction.
26 Yahweh dos exércitos agitará um flagelo contra ele, como na matança de Midian na rocha do Oreb. Sua vara estará sobre o mar, e ele a erguerá como fez contra o Egito.
And Yahweh of hosts, will brandish over him, a scourge—Like the smiting of Midian at the rock Oreb, —And his staff being over the sea, He will lift it up in the manner of Egypt;
27 Acontecerá nesse dia que seu fardo sairá de seu ombro, e seu jugo de seu pescoço, e o jugo será destruído por causa do óleo da unção.
And it shall come to pass, in that day, That his burden shall remove from off thy shoulder, And his yoke from off thy neck, —Yea, the yoke shall be broken because of fatness.
28 Ele veio para Aiath. Ele passou pela Migron. Em Michmash, ele armazena sua bagagem.
He hath come in unto Ayyath, Hath passed through Migron, —At Michmash, storeth his baggage:
29 Eles passaram por cima do passe. Ocuparam seu alojamento em Geba. Ramah treme. Gibeah de Saul fugiu.
They have passed over the pass, Geba is his halting-place, —Terror-stricken is Ramah, Gibeah of Saul, hath fled!
30 Chora em voz alta com sua voz, filha de Gallim! Ouça, Laishah! Pobre Anathoth!
Make shrill thy voice, O daughter of Gallim! Hearken, O Laishah, Answer, O Anathoth!
31 Madmenah é um fugitivo. Os habitantes de Gebim fogem por segurança.
Madmenah, hath fled, —The inhabitants of Gebim, have gone into safety:
32 Neste mesmo dia, ele vai parar em Nob. Ele aperta sua mão na montanha da filha de Sião, a colina de Jerusalém.
While yet to-day, in Nob, he tarrieth, He brandisheth his hand toward The mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.
33 Eis que o Senhor, Yahweh dos Exércitos, limpará os ramos com terror. O alto será cortado, e o alto será baixado.
Behold! the Lord, Yahweh of hosts, is about to lop off a tree-crown, with a crash, —Then shall, they who are lifted on high, be hewn down, And, the lofty, be laid low;
34 He cortará a mata da floresta com ferro, e o Líbano cairá pelo Poderoso.
Then will he fell the thickets of the forest with iron, —And, Lebanon by a majestic one shall fall.
