Oséias 4
1 Ouçam a palavra de Yahweh, filhos de Israel, pois Yahweh tem uma acusação contra os habitantes da terra: “De fato, não há verdade, nem bondade, nem o conhecimento de Deus na terra.
Hear the word of the Lord, you children of Israel: for the Lord [has] a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 There é praguejar, mentir, assassinar, roubar, e cometer adultério; rompem limites, e o derramamento de sangue causa derramamento de sangue.
Cursing, and lying, and murder, and theft, and adultery abound in the land, and they mingle blood with blood.
3 Portanto, a terra vai lamentar, e todos que nele habitam se perderão, com todos os seres vivos que há nela, até mesmo os animais do campo e as aves do céu; sim, os peixes do mar também morrem.
Therefore shall the land mourn, and shall be diminished with all that dwell in it, with the wild beasts of the field, and the reptiles of the earth, and with the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea shall fail:
4 “No entanto, que nenhum homem leve uma acusação, nem que nenhum homem acuse; para o seu povo são como aqueles que apresentam acusações contra um padre.
that neither any one may plead, nor any one reprove [another]; but my people are as a priest spoken against.
5 Você vai tropeçar no dia, e o profeta também tropeçará com você durante a noite; e eu destruirei sua mãe.
Therefore they shall fall by day, and the prophet with you shall fall: I have compared your mother to night.
6 Meu povo é destruído por falta de conhecimento. Como você rejeitou o conhecimento, eu também o rejeitarei, que você pode não ser um padre para mim. Porque você esqueceu a lei de seu Deus, Eu também esquecerei seus filhos.
My people are like as if they had no knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall not minister as priest to me: and [as] you has forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
7 Como eles se multiplicaram, pecaram contra mim. Vou transformar sua glória em vergonha.
According to their multitude, so they sinned against me: I will turn their glory into shame.
8 Eles se alimentam do pecado do meu povo, e se preocupam com sua iniqüidade.
They will devour the sins of my people, and will set their hearts on their iniquities.
9 Será como as pessoas, como o padre; e eu os punirei por seus caminhos, e os reembolsará por seus atos.
And the priest shall be as the people: and I will avenge on them their ways, and I will recompense to them their counsels.
10 Eles comerão, e não terão o suficiente. Eles farão de prostituta, e não aumentarão; porque abandonaram a escuta de Yahweh.
And they shall eat, and shall not be satisfied: they have gone a-whoring, and shall by no means prosper: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.
11 Prostituição, vinho, e vinho novo tiram o entendimento.
The heart of my people has gladly engaged in fornication and wine and strong drink.
12 Meu povo consulta com seu ídolo de madeira, e responder a um pau de madeira. De fato, o espírito da prostituição os desviou, e têm sido infiéis ao seu Deus.
They asked counsel by [means of] signs, and they reported answer to them by their staves: they have gone astray in a spirit of whoredom, and gone grievously a-whoring from their God.
13 Eles se sacrificam no topo das montanhas, e queimar incenso nas colinas, debaixo de carvalhos, choupos e terebintos, porque sua tonalidade é boa. Portanto, suas filhas se fazem de prostituta, e suas noivas cometem adultério.
They have sacrificed on the tops of the mountains, and on the hills they have sacrificed under the oak and poplar, and under the shady tree, because the shade was good: therefore your daughters shall go a-whoring, and your daughters-in-law shall commit adultery.
14 Não castigarei suas filhas quando elas se prostituem, nem suas noivas quando elas cometem adultério; porque os homens se consomem com prostitutas, e se sacrificam com as prostitutas do santuário; Assim, as pessoas sem entendimento virão à ruína.
And I will not visit upon your daughters when they shall commit fornication, nor your daughters-in-law when they shall commit adultery: for they themselves mingled themselves with harlots, and sacrificed with polluted ones, and the people that understood not entangled itself with a harlot.
15 “Embora você, Israel, faça de prostituta, mas não deixe Judah ofender; e não venha para Gilgal, nem ir até Beth Aven, nem jurar: “Como Yahweh vive”.
But you, O Israel, be not ignorant, and go you not, [men of] Juda, to Galgala; and go not up to the house of On, and swear not by the living Lord.
16 Para Israel, o comportamento tem sido extremamente teimoso, como uma novilha teimosa. Então como Yahweh os alimentará como um cordeiro em um prado?
For Israel was maddened like a mad heifer: now the Lord will feed them as a lamb in a wide place.
17 Ephraim está unido aos ídolos. Deixe-o em paz!
Ephraim, joined with idols, has laid stumbling blocks in his own way.
18 A bebida deles se tornou azeda. Eles se fazem de prostituta continuamente. Seus governantes amam muito seu modo vergonhoso.
He has chosen the Chananites: they have grievously gone a-whoring: they have loved dishonor through her insolence.
19 O vento a envolveu em suas asas; e eles ficarão desapontados por causa de seus sacrifícios.
You are a blast of wind in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their altars.
