Oséias 12

1 Ephraim alimenta-se do vento, e persegue o vento leste. Ele multiplica continuamente as mentiras e a desolação. Eles fazem um pacto com a Assíria, e o petróleo é transportado para o Egito.

Ephraim, feedeth on wind, and pursueth the east wind, all the day, falsehood and force, doth he magnify, —and, a covenant with Assyria, would they solemnize, and, oil into Egypt, must be borne along.

2 Yahweh também tem uma controvérsia com Judah, e castigará Jacob de acordo com seus modos; de acordo com suas escrituras, ele lhe pagará.

But, a controversy, hath Yahweh with Judah, —so that he may bring punishment on Jacob, according to his ways, According to his doings, repay him.

3 No útero, ele pegou seu irmão pelo calcanhar, e em sua virilidade ele lutou com Deus.

In the womb, took he his brother by the heel; and, in his manly vigour, strove he with God:

4 Indeed, ele lutou com o anjo, e prevaleceu; ele chorou, e lhe fez súplicas. Ele o encontrou em Betel, e lá ele falou conosco...

Yea he strove against a Messenger, and prevailed, he wept, and made supplication unto him, —At Bethel, he found him, and, there, he spake with us;

5 even Yahweh, o Deus dos Exércitos. Yahweh é seu nome de renome!

And, Yahweh, is God of host, —Yahweh, is his memorial.

6 Portanto, recorra ao seu Deus. Manter a gentileza e a justiça, e esperar continuamente por seu Deus.

Thou, therefore, by thy God, shalt return, —lovingkindness and justice, do thou keep, so wait thou for thy God, continually.

7 Um comerciante tem escamas desonestas em sua mão. Ele adora defraudar.

A trafficker! in his hand, are balances of deceit, to oppress, he loveth.

8 Ephraim disse: “Certamente eu me tornei rico. Eu me encontrei rico. Em toda a minha riqueza não encontrarão em mim nenhuma iniquidade que seja pecado”.

So then Ephraim said, Surely I have gotten me riches, I have found wealth for myself, —in all my toils, they cannot find in me perversity which is sin.

9 “Mas eu sou Yahweh, vosso Deus, da terra do Egito. Mais uma vez farei você morar em barracas, como nos dias da festa solene.

But, I, Yahweh, have been thy God, from the land of Egypt, —I will yet make thee dwell in tents, as in the days of appointed meeting.

10 Também falei com os profetas, e eu tenho visões multiplicadas; e pelo ministério dos profetas eu tenho usado parábolas.

And I will lay my word upon the prophets, yea, I myself, have magnified, vision, —and, by the hand of the prophets, will I use similitudes.

11 If Gilead é perverso, certamente eles não valem nada. Em Gilgal eles sacrificam os touros. De fato, seus altares são como montões de areia nos sulcos do campo.

If, Gilead, is in sorrow, surely false, have they been, In Gilgal, have they sacrificed, bullocks, —their very altars, shall become as heaps upon the furrows of the field.

12 Jacob fugiu para o país de Aram. Israel serviu para conseguir uma esposa. Para uma esposa, ele cuidava de rebanhos e rebanhos.

When Jacob fled to the country of Syria, then Israel served for a wife, and, for a wife, he watched over a flock.

13 Por um profeta Yahweh trouxe Israel do Egito, e por um profeta, ele foi preservado.

And, by a prophet, Yahweh, brought up, Israel out of Egypt, —and, by a prophet, was he watched over.

14 Ephraim tem provocado amargamente a raiva. Portanto, seu sangue será deixado sobre ele, e seu Senhor retribuirá seu desprezo.

Ephraim hath provoked, very bitterly, —his own blood, therefore, upon him, will he leave, and, his reproach, shall his Lord, bring back to him.
