Gálatas 3
1 Gálatas tontos, quem vos enfeitiçou a não obedecer à verdade, diante de cujos olhos Jesus Cristo foi abertamente retratado entre vós como crucificado?
O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was earlier described among you, crucified?
2 Eu só quero aprender isto com vocês: Vocês receberam o Espírito pelas obras da lei, ou pela audição da fé?
I only want to learn this from you. Did ye receive the Spirit from works of law, or from a listening ear of faith?
3 Você é tão insensato? Tendo começado no Espírito, você está agora completo em carne e osso?
Are ye so foolish, having begun in Spirit, are ye now made perfect by flesh?
4 Did você sofre tantas coisas em vão, se de fato é em vão?
Did ye suffer so many things in vain? If it is indeed in vain.
5 aquele que vos fornece o Espírito e faz milagres entre vós, ele o faz pelas obras da lei, ou pelo ouvir da fé?
He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and who works miracles among you, is it from works of law or from a listening ear of faith?
6 Mesmo assim, Abraão “acreditou em Deus, e isso foi contado a ele como justiça”.
Just as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.
7 Saiba portanto que aqueles que são de fé são filhos de Abraão.
Ye know therefore that those from faith, these are sons of Abraham.
8 A Escritura, prevendo que Deus justificaria os gentios pela fé, pregou a Boa Nova de antemão a Abraão, dizendo: “Em vós todas as nações serão abençoadas”.
And the scripture having foreseen that God makes the Gentiles righteous from faith, proclaimed the good news in advance to Abraham: In thee all the nations will be blessed.
9 Portanto, aqueles que são de fé são abençoados com o fiel Abraão.
So then those from faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10 Para tantos quantos forem das obras da lei, estão sob uma maldição. Pois está escrito: “Malditos todos aqueles que não continuam em todas as coisas que estão escritas no livro da lei, para fazê-las”.
For as many as are from works of law are under a curse, for it is written, Cursed is every man who does not continue in all things written in the book of the law, to do them.
11 Agora que nenhum homem é justificado pela lei diante de Deus é evidente, pois, “O justo viverá pela fé”.
But that no man is made righteous by law before God, is evident, because, The righteous man will live from faith.
12 A lei não é de fé, mas, “O homem que os faz viverá por eles”.
And the law is not from faith, but the man who does them will live in them.
13 Cristo nos redimiu da maldição da lei, tendo se tornado uma maldição para nós. Pois está escrito: “Malditos todos os que penduram em uma árvore”,
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is every man who hangs on a tree.
14 para que a bênção de Abraão possa vir sobre os gentios através de Cristo Jesus, para que possamos receber a promessa do Espírito através da fé.
So that the blessing of Abraham might occur for the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.
15 Irmãos, falando em termos humanos, embora seja apenas um pacto de homem, ainda que quando foi confirmado, ninguém o torna nulo ou o acrescenta a ele.
Brothers (I speak according to a man), in the same way of a man, no man annuls or adds to a contract that has been ratified.
16 Agora as promessas foram ditas a Abraão e a seus descendentes. Ele não diz: “Aos descendentes”, como de muitos, mas como de um, “À sua descendência”, que é Cristo.
Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, And to the seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to thy seed, who is Christ.
17 Agora eu digo isto: Um pacto previamente confirmado por Deus em Cristo, a lei, que veio quatrocentos e trinta anos depois, não anula, de modo a fazer a promessa de nenhum efeito.
And I say this, a covenant previously confirmed by God in Christ, the law, which happened four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul in order to make the promise useless.
18 Pois se a herança é da lei, não é mais uma promessa; mas Deus a concedeu a Abraão por promessa.
For if the inheritance is from law, it is no longer from promise. But God has given it to Abraham through promise.
19 Então por que existe a lei? Ela foi acrescentada por causa das transgressões, até que os descendentes deveriam vir a quem a promessa foi feita. Ela foi ordenada através de anjos pela mão de um mediador.
Why then the law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the seed would come to whom it was promised, which was arranged through agents in the hand of a mediator.
20 Agora um mediador não está entre um, mas Deus é um só.
Now a mediator is not of one, but God is one.
21 A lei é então contra as promessas de Deus? Certamente que não! Pois se houvesse uma lei dada que pudesse dar vida, certamente a retidão teria sido da lei.
Is the law therefore against the promises of God? May it not happen! For if a law was given that could make alive, truly righteousness would be from law.
22 Mas a Escritura aprisionou todas as coisas sob o pecado, para que a promessa pela fé em Jesus Cristo pudesse ser dada àqueles que crêem.
But scripture confined all things under sin, so that the promise from faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Mas antes que a fé chegasse, éramos mantidos sob custódia sob a lei, confinados pela fé que depois deveria ser revelada.
But before faith came we were kept in custody under law, having been confined for faith that was going to be revealed.
24 Para que a lei se tornasse nosso tutor para nos levar a Cristo, para que pudéssemos ser justificados pela fé.
So that the law became our schoolmaster for Christ, so that we might be made righteous from faith.
25 Mas agora que a fé chegou, não estamos mais sob a tutela de um tutor.
But faith having come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 Pois todos vocês são filhos de Deus, através da fé em Cristo Jesus.
For ye are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 Pois tantos de vocês, quantos foram batizados em Cristo, se revestiram de Cristo.
For as many as were immersed into Christ have put on Christ.
28 Não há judeu nem grego, não há escravo nem homem livre, não há homem nem mulher; pois todos vós sois um em Cristo Jesus.
There is no Jew nor Greek, there is no bondman nor freeman, there is no male and female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 Se você é de Cristo, então você é descendente de Abraão e herdeiros de acordo com a promessa.
And if ye are Christ's, then ye are Abraham's seed and heirs according to promise.
