Deuteronômio 5
1 Moisés chamou a todo Israel e disse-lhes: “Ouvi, Israel, os estatutos e as ordenanças que hoje vos falo aos ouvidos, para que as aprendais, e observai para as fazer”.
Then Moses called all Israiel, and saide vnto them, Heare, O Israel, the ordinances and the lawes which I propose to you this day, that yee may learne them, and take heede to obserue them.
2 Yahweh, nosso Deus, fez um pacto conosco em Horeb.
The Lord our God made a couenant with vs in Horeb.
3 Yahweh não fez este pacto com nossos pais, mas conosco, mesmo nós, que estamos todos aqui vivos hoje”.
The Lord made not this couenant with our fathers onely, but with vs, euen with vs all here aliue this day.
4 Javé falou com você cara a cara na montanha fora do meio do incêndio,
The Lord talked with you face to face in the Mount, out of the middes of the fire.
5 (eu estava entre Javé e você naquela época, para lhe mostrar a palavra de Javé; pois você estava com medo por causa do incêndio, e não subiu à montanha) dizendo,
(At that time I stoode betweene the Lord and you, to declare vnto you ye word of the Lord: for ye were afraid at the sight of the fire, and went not vp into the mount, and he said,
6 “Eu sou Yahweh, vosso Deus, que vos tirei da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão”.
I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the lande of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 “Vocês não terão outros deuses diante de mim.
Thou shalt haue none other gods before my face.
8 “Você não deve fazer uma imagem esculpida para si mesmo - qualquer semelhança do que está no céu acima, ou do que está na terra abaixo, ou do que está nas águas abaixo da terra.
Thou shalt make thee no grauen image or any likenesse of that that is in heauen aboue, or which is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters vnder the earth.
9 Não te curvarás diante deles, nem os servirás, pois eu, Yahweh teu Deus, sou um Deus ciumento, visitando a iniqüidade dos pais sobre os filhos e sobre a terceira e quarta geração daqueles que me odeiam
Thou shalt neither bowe thy selfe vnto them, nor serue them: for I the Lord thy God am a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, euen vnto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:
10 e demonstrando bondade amorosa para com milhares daqueles que me amam e guardam meus mandamentos.
And shewing mercie vnto thousandes of them that loue me, and keepe my commandements.
11 “Você não usará indevidamente o nome de Javé, seu Deus; pois Javé não o considerará sem culpa quem usar indevidamente seu nome.
Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not holde him giltlesse that taketh his Name in vaine.
12 “Observe o dia de sábado, para mantê-lo santo, como Yahweh seu Deus lhe ordenou.
Keepe the Sabbath day, to sanctifie it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Você trabalhará seis dias e fará todo o seu trabalho;
Sixe dayes thou shalt labour, and shalt doe all thy worke:
14 mas o sétimo dia é um sábado para Javé seu Deus, no qual você não fará nenhum trabalho - nem você, nem seu filho, nem sua filha, nem seu servo macho, nem sua serva fêmea, nem seu boi, nem seu burro, nem qualquer um de seus animais, nem seu estranho que está dentro de suas portas; para que seu servo macho e sua serva fêmea possam descansar tão bem quanto você.
But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not doe any worke therein, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, nor thy man seruant, nor thy mayd, nor thine oxe, nor thine asse, neither any of thy cattel, nor the stranger that is within thy gates: that thy man seruant and thy mayde may rest aswell as thou.
15 Você deve se lembrar que você foi um servo na terra do Egito, e Javé seu Deus o tirou de lá por uma mão poderosa e por um braço estendido. Portanto, Javé, vosso Deus, ordenou-vos que guardásseis o sábado.
For, remember that thou wast a seruant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence by a mightie hand and a stretched out arme: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to obserue the Sabbath day.
16 “Honre seu pai e sua mãe, como Javé seu Deus lhe ordenou, para que seus dias sejam longos e para que possam ir bem com você na terra que Javé seu Deus lhe dá.
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath comanded thee, that thy dayes may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
17 “Você não deve assassinar.
Thou shalt not kill.
18 “Você não deve cometer adultério.
Neither shalt thou commit adulterie.
19 “Você não deve roubar.
Neither shalt thou steale.
20 “Você não prestará falso testemunho contra seu próximo.
Neither shalt thou beare false witnesse against thy neighbour.
21 “Você não cobiçará a esposa de seu vizinho. Nem desejará a casa de seu vizinho, seu campo, ou seu criado, ou sua criada, seu boi, ou seu burro, ou qualquer coisa que seja de seu vizinho”.
Neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, neither shalt thou desire thy neighbours house, his fielde, nor his man seruant, nor his mayd, his oxe, nor his asse, nor ought that thy neighbour hath.
22 Yahweh pronunciou estas palavras a toda a sua assembléia na montanha, do meio do fogo, da nuvem e da escuridão espessa, com uma grande voz. Ele não acrescentou mais nada. Ele as escreveu em duas tábuas de pedra, e as deu a mim.
These wordes the Lord spake vnto all your multitude in the mount out of the mids of the fire, the cloude and the darkenes, with a great voyce, and added no more thereto: and wrote them vpon two tables of stone, and deliuered them vnto me.
23 Quando ouvistes a voz do meio da escuridão, enquanto a montanha ardia de fogo, chegastes perto de mim, mesmo todos os chefes de vossas tribos, e vossos anciãos;
And when ye heard the voyce out of the middes of the darkenes, (for the mountaine did burne with fire) then ye came to me, all the chiefe of your tribes, and your Elders:
24 e dissestes: “Eis que Javé nosso Deus nos mostrou sua glória e sua grandeza, e nós ouvimos sua voz do meio do fogo”. Vimos hoje que Deus fala com o homem, e ele vive.
And ye sayd, Beholde, the Lord our God hath shewed vs his glory and his greatnes, and we haue heard his voyce out of the middes of the fire: we haue seene this day that God doeth talke with man, and he liueth.
25 Agora, portanto, por que devemos morrer? Porque este grande fogo nos consumirá. Se ouvirmos mais a voz de Yahweh, nosso Deus, então morreremos.
Now therefore, why should we dye? for this great fire wil consume vs: if we heare ye voyce of the Lord our God any more, we shall dye.
26 Pois quem, de toda a carne, ouviu a voz do Deus vivo falando do meio do fogo, como nós, e viveu?
For what flesh was there euer, that heard the voyce of the liuing God speaking out of the middes of the fire as we haue, and liued?
27 Aproxime-se, e ouça tudo o que Javé nosso Deus dirá, e nos diga tudo o que Javé nosso Deus lhe diz; e nós o ouviremos, e o faremos”.
Go thou neere and heare all that the Lord our God saith: and declare thou vnto vs all that the Lord our God saith vnto thee, and we will heare it, and doe it.
28 Javé ouviu a voz de suas palavras quando você falou comigo; e Javé me disse: “Eu ouvi a voz das palavras deste povo que eles lhe falaram. Eles disseram bem tudo o que falaram”.
Then the Lord heard the voyce of your wordes, when ye spake vnto me: and the Lord sayd vnto me, I haue heard the voyce of ye wordes of this people, which they haue spoken vnto thee: they haue well sayd, all that they haue spoken.
29 Oh, que houvesse tal coração neles que eles me temessem e guardassem sempre todos os meus mandamentos, para que pudesse estar bem com eles e com seus filhos para sempre!
Oh that there were such an heart in them to feare me, and to keepe all my commandements alway: that it might go well with them, and with their children for euer.
30 “Vá dizer-lhes: 'Voltem para suas tendas'.
Go, say vnto them, Returne you into your tentes.
31 Mas quanto a você, fique aqui ao meu lado, e eu lhe direi todos os mandamentos, e os estatutos, e as ordenanças, que você lhes ensinará, para que os façam na terra que eu lhes dou para possuir”.
But stand thou here with me, and I wil tell thee all the commandements, and the ordinances, and the lawes, which thou shalt teach them: that they may doe them in the land which I giue them to possesse it.
32 Portanto, você deve observar para fazer como Yahweh seu Deus lhe ordenou. Não vos desviareis para a direita nem para a esquerda.
Take heede therefore, that ye doe as the Lord your God hath commanded you: turne not aside to the right hand nor to the left,
33 Você caminhará em todo o caminho que Iavé seu Deus lhe ordenou, para que viva e esteja bem consigo, e para que prolongue seus dias na terra que você possuirá.
But walke in all the wayes which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may liue, and that it may goe well with you: and that ye may prolong your dayes in the land which ye shall possesse.
