Deuteronômio 27
1 Moisés e os anciãos de Israel comandaram o povo, dizendo: “Guardai todo o mandamento que eu vos ordeno hoje”.
And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep the whole commandment which I command you this day.
2 Será no dia em que passarás o Jordão para a terra que Javé teu Deus te dá, que levantarás grandes pedras e as revestirás com gesso.
And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set up for thyself great stones, and cover them with plaster;
3 Nelas escreverás todas as palavras desta lei, quando tiveres passado, para que possas entrar na terra que Javé teu Deus te dá, terra que mana leite e mel, como Javé, o Deus de teus pais, te prometeu.
And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, so soon as thou art passed over; in order that thou mayest go in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey; as the Lord, the God of thy fathers, hath spoken unto thee.
4 Será, quando tiverdes atravessado o Jordão, que levantareis estas pedras, que vos ordeno hoje, no Monte Ebal, e as revestireis com gesso.
And it shall be so soon as ye are gone over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, on mount 'Ebal; and thou shalt cover them with plaster.
5 Ali construireis um altar para Yahweh vosso Deus, um altar de pedras. Não usareis nenhuma ferramenta de ferro sobre elas.
And thou shalt build there an altar unto the Lord thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6 Construireis para Javé o altar de pedras não cortadas de vosso Deus. Oferecereis sobre ele holocaustos a Javé, vosso Deus.
Of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of the Lord thy God; and thou shalt offer thereupon burnt-offerings unto the Lord thy God;
7 Sacrificareis ofertas de paz, e ali comereis. Alegrar-te-ás perante Iavé teu Deus.
And thou shalt slay peace-offerings, and eat [them] there; and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God.
8 Escreverás nas pedras todas as palavras desta lei muito claramente”.
And thou shalt write upon the statues all the words of this law, very plainly.
9 Moisés e os sacerdotes levíticos falaram a todo Israel, dizendo: “Silêncio e escute, Israel! Hoje vocês se tornaram o povo de Yahweh, seu Deus.
And Moses with the priests, the Levites, spoke unto all Israel, saying, Be attentive, and hearken, O Israel! this day art thou become a people unto the Lord thy God.
10 Obedecereis portanto à voz de Iavé vosso Deus e cumprireis seus mandamentos e seus estatutos, que eu hoje vos ordeno”.
Thou shalt therefore hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
11 Moisés ordenou ao povo no mesmo dia, dizendo:
And Moses commanded the people on the same day, saying,
12 “Estes estarão no Monte Gerizim para abençoar o povo, quando você tiver atravessado o Jordão: Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issachar, Joseph e Benjamin.
These shall stand upon mount Gerizzim to bless the people, when ye are come over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
13 Estes ficarão no Monte Ebal para a maldição: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, e Naftali.
And these shall stand for the sake of the curse upon mount 'Ebal: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 Com voz alta, os levitas dirão a todos os homens de Israel:
And the Levites shall commence, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15 'Maldito é o homem que faz uma imagem gravada ou fundida, uma abominação para Javé, o trabalho das mãos do artífice, e a coloca em segredo'. Todas as pessoas devem responder e dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be the man who maketh a graven or molten image, the abomination of the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place; and all the people shall answer, and say, Amen.
16 'Maldito é aquele que desonra seu pai ou sua mãe'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that holdeth in light esteem his father or his mother; and all the people shall say, Amen.
17 'Maldito é aquele que remove o marco de seu vizinho'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that removeth the landmark of his neighbor; and all the people shall say, Amen.
18 'Maldito é aquele que conduz o cego perdido na estrada'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that causeth the blind to wander out of the way; and all the people shall say, Amen.
19 'Maldito é aquele que retém a justiça do estrangeiro, sem pai e viúva'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that perverteth the cause of the stranger, of the fatherless, and of the widow; and all the people shall say, Amen.
20 'Maldito aquele que se deita com a esposa de seu pai, porque desonra a cama de seu pai'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt; and all the people shall say, Amen.
21 'Maldito é aquele que se deita com qualquer tipo de animal'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast; and all the people shall say, Amen.
22 'Maldito é aquele que se deita com sua irmã, a filha de seu pai ou a filha de sua mãe'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother; and all the people shall say, Amen.
23 'Maldito é aquele que se deita com sua sogra'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law; and all the people shall say, Amen.
24 'Maldito é aquele que mata secretamente seu vizinho'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor secretly; and all the people shall say, Amen.
25 'Maldito aquele que aceita um suborno para matar uma pessoa inocente'. Todas as pessoas devem dizer: “Amém”.
Cursed be he that taketh a bribe to slay a person, an innocent blood; and all the people shall say, Amen.
26 'Maldito aquele que não defende as palavras desta lei ao fazê-las'. Todas as pessoas dirão: 'Amém'”.
Cursed be he that executeth not the words of this law to do them; and all the people shall say, Amen.
