Deuteronômio 11
1 Portanto, você amará a Javé seu Deus, e guardará sempre suas instruções, seus estatutos, suas ordenanças e seus mandamentos.
Therefore you shall 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, and keep his instructions, his statutes, his judgments, and his mitzvot ·instructions·, always.
2 Saiba este dia - pois não falo com seus filhos que não conheceram, e que não viram o castigo de Javé seu Deus, sua grandeza, sua mão poderosa, seu braço estendido,
Know this day: for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Adonai your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm,
3 seus sinais e suas obras, que ele fez no meio do Egito ao Faraó, rei do Egito, e a toda sua terra;
his signs, and his works, which he did in the middle of Egypt [Abode of slavery] to Pharaoh the king of Egypt [Abode of slavery], and to all his land;
4 e o que ele fez ao exército do Egito, aos seus cavalos, e às suas carruagens; como ele fez com que as águas do Mar Vermelho transbordassem enquanto eles os perseguiam, e como Javé os destruiu até hoje;
and what he did to the army of Egypt [Abode of slavery], to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea] to overflow them as they pursued you, and how Adonai has destroyed them to this day;
5 e o que ele fez com você no deserto até que você chegou a este lugar;
and what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came to this place;
6 e o que ele fez a Datã e Abirão, os filhos de Eliab, o filho de Rúben - como a terra abriu sua boca e os engoliu, com suas casas, suas tendas e todos os seres vivos que os seguiram, no meio de todo Israel;
and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben [See, a son!]; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the middle of all Israel [God prevails];
7 mas seus olhos viram toda a grande obra de Javé que ele fez.
but your eyes have seen all of Adonai’s great work which he did.
8 Portanto, guardareis todo o mandamento que vos ordeno hoje, para que sejais fortes, e entreis e possuais a terra que ides possuir;
Therefore you shall keep every mitzvah ·instruction· which I enjoin you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land, where you go over to possess it;
9 e para que possais prolongar vossos dias na terra que Iavé jurou a vossos pais dar a eles e a seus descendentes, uma terra que mana leite e mel.
and that you may prolong your days in the land, which Adonai swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10 Pois a terra que você vai possuir não é como a terra do Egito da qual você saiu, onde você semeou sua semente e a regou com seu pé, como um jardim de ervas;
For the land, where you go in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], that you came out of, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;
11 mas a terra que você vai possuir é uma terra de colinas e vales que bebe água da chuva do céu,
but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of the sky,
12 uma terra que Yahweh seu Deus cuida. Yahweh os olhos de seu Deus estão sempre nela, desde o início do ano até o final do ano.
a land which Adonai your God cares for. Adonai your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.
13 Acontecerá, se ouvirdes diligentemente meus mandamentos que vos ordeno hoje, de amar a Javé vosso Deus, e de servi-lo com todo vosso coração e com toda vossa alma,
It shall happen, if you shall sh'ma ·hear obey· diligently to my mitzvot ·instructions· which I enjoin you today, to 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, and to abad ·serve· him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 que eu darei a chuva por vossa terra em sua estação, a chuva precoce e esta última chuva, para que possais colher em vosso grão, vosso novo vinho e vosso óleo.
that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
15 que darei grama em seus campos para seu gado, e você comerá e ficará cheio.
I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
16 Tenha cuidado, para que seu coração não seja enganado, e você se afaste para servir a outros deuses e adorá-los;
Be careful, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and abad ·serve· other deities, and hawa ·bow low, prostrate· to worship them;
17 e a ira de Javé seja acesa contra você, e ele cale o céu para que não haja chuva, e a terra não dê seus frutos; e você pereça rapidamente da boa terra que Javé lhe dá.
and Adonai’s anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there is no rain, and the land does not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Adonai gives you.
18 Por isso, deposite estas minhas palavras em seu coração e em sua alma. Amarrá-las-eis por um sinal em vossa mão, e elas serão para as frontais entre vossos olhos.
Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
19 Você as ensinará a seus filhos, falando deles quando se sentar em sua casa, quando caminhar pelo caminho, quando se deitar e quando se levantar.
You shall teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
20 Escrevê-los-á nos umbrais de sua casa e em seus portões;
You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates;
21 para que seus dias e os de seus filhos se multipliquem na terra que Javé jurou a seus pais dar-lhes, como os dias dos céus sobre a terra.
that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Adonai swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
22 Pois se guardardes diligentemente todos estes mandamentos que eu vos ordeno - amá-lo, amar a Javé vosso Deus, caminhar em todos os seus caminhos e apegar-se a ele -
For if you shall diligently keep all these mitzvot ·instructions· which I enjoin you, to do them, to 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, to walk in all his ways, and to dabak ·cling to, worship· to him;
23 então Javé expulsará todas estas nações de diante de vós, e despojareis nações maiores e mais poderosas do que vós mesmos.
then will Adonai drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
24 Todo lugar em que a planta de vosso pé pisar será vosso: do deserto e do Líbano, do rio Eufrates, até o mar ocidental, será vossa fronteira.
Every place whereon the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates [Fruitful], even to the western sea shall be your border.
25 Nenhum homem será capaz de estar diante de vocês. Yahweh seu Deus colocará o medo de você e o pavor de você em toda a terra que você pisar, como ele falou com você.
No man will be able to stand before you. Adonai your God will lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you tread on, as he has spoken to you.
26 Eis que hoje vos proponho uma bênção e uma maldição:
Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:
27 a bênção, se ouvirdes os mandamentos de Javé vosso Deus, que eu vos ordeno hoje;
the blessing, if you sh'ma ·hear obey· the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai your God, which I enjoin you today;
28 e a maldição, se não ouvirdes os mandamentos de Javé vosso Deus, mas vos desviardes do caminho que eu vos ordeno hoje, para irdes atrás de outros deuses que não conheceis.
and the curse, if you do not sh'ma ·hear obey· the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai your God, but turn aside out of the way which I enjoin you today, to go after other deities, which you have not known.
29 Acontecerá, quando Yahweh teu Deus te trouxer à terra que vais possuir, que colocarás a bênção no Monte Gerizim, e a maldição no Monte Ebal.
It shall happen, when Adonai your God brings you into the land where you go to possess it, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.
30 Aren eles não estão além do Jordão, por trás do caminho do pôr do sol, na terra dos cananeus que habitam no Arabah, perto de Gilgal, ao lado dos carvalhos de Moreh?
Are not they beyond the Jordan [Descender], behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites [Descendants of Humbled] who dwell in the Arabah, near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
31 Para que vocês passem o Jordão para entrar e possuir a terra que Yahweh vosso Deus lhes dá, e vocês a possuirão e habitarão nela.
For you are to pass over the Jordan [Descender] to go in to possess the land which Adonai your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32 Observareis para cumprir todos os estatutos e as ordenanças que vos proponho hoje.
You shall observe to do all the statutes and the judgments which I set before you today.
