Atos 1
1 O primeiro livro que escrevi, Teófilo, dizia respeito a tudo o que Jesus começou a fazer e a ensinar,
I indeed made the former treatise, O Theophilus, about all things that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 até o dia em que ele foi recebido, depois de ter dado o mandamento através do Espírito Santo aos apóstolos que ele havia escolhido.
until a day in which he was taken up, having commanded, through the Holy Spirit, the apostles whom he chose,
3 A estes ele também se mostrou vivo depois de ter sofrido, por muitas provas, aparecendo-lhes durante um período de quarenta dias e falando sobre o Reino de Deus.
to whom he also presented himself living, after his suffering, by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days, and speaking the things about the kingdom of God.
4 Being reunido com eles, ele lhes ordenou: “Não parta de Jerusalém, mas espere a promessa do Pai, que ouviu de mim”.
And being assembled together, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, Which, he said, ye heard from me.
5 Pois João realmente batizou em água, mas vós sereis batizados no Espírito Santo não muitos dias a partir de agora”.
Because John indeed immersed in water, but ye will be immersed in the Holy Spirit after not many of these days.
6 Portanto, quando se reuniram, perguntaram-lhe: “Senhor, estás agora restaurando o reino para Israel”?
Indeed therefore having come together, they questioned him, saying, Lord, do thou restore the kingdom to Israel at this time?
7 Ele lhes disse: “Não cabe a vocês conhecer os tempos ou as estações que o Pai estabeleceu dentro de sua própria autoridade.
And he said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father established in his own authority.
8 Mas vocês receberão poder quando o Espírito Santo vier sobre vocês”. Vós sereis minhas testemunhas em Jerusalém, em toda a Judéia e Samaria, e até os confins da terra”.
But ye will receive the power of the Holy Spirit that comes upon you. And ye will be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and as far as of the extremity of the earth.
9 Quando ele disse estas coisas, como eles estavam olhando, ele foi levado para cima, e uma nuvem o recebeu fora da vista deles.
And having said these things, as they were watching, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from their eyes.
10 Enquanto olhavam com firmeza para o céu enquanto ele ia, eis que dois homens estavam ao seu lado com roupas brancas,
And while they were gazing at his going into the sky, behold, two men had also stood by them in white apparel,
11 que também disseram: “Vocês, homens da Galiléia, por que estão olhando para o céu? Este Jesus, que foi recebido de vocês para o céu, voltará da mesma maneira que vocês o viram indo para o céu”.
who also said, Men, Galileans, why stand ye gazing into the sky? This Jesus who was taken up from you into the sky will so come, in that same way as ye saw him going into the sky.
12 Depois voltaram para Jerusalém da montanha chamada Olivet, que fica perto de Jerusalém, a um dia de sábado de viagem.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem having a sabbath day journey.
13 Quando chegaram, subiram para a sala superior onde estavam hospedados, ou seja, Pedro, João, Tiago, André, Filipe, Tomé, Bartolomeu, Mateus, Tiago, filho de Alfeu, Simão, o Zelote, e Judas, filho de Tiago.
And when they came in, they went up into the upper floor where they were lodging, including, Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.
14 Todos estes, com um só acordo, continuaram com firmeza em oração e súplica, junto com as mulheres e Maria, a mãe de Jesus, e com seus irmãos.
All these men were continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15 Nestes dias, Pedro levantou-se no meio dos discípulos (e o número de nomes era cerca de cento e vinte), e disse:
And in those days, Peter, having stood up in the midst of the disciples (and there was a multitude of names at the same place, about a hundred twenty), he said,
16 “Irmãos, era necessário que esta Escritura se cumprisse, que o Espírito Santo falou antes pela boca de Davi a respeito de Judas, que foi guia para aqueles que levaram Jesus.
Men, brothers, it was necessary for this scripture to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold through the mouth of David about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus,
17 Pois ele foi contado conosco, e recebeu sua parte neste ministério.
because he was numbered with us, and received a share of this ministry.
18 Agora este homem obteve um campo com a recompensa por sua maldade; e caindo de cabeça, seu corpo se abriu e todos os seus intestinos jorraram para fora.
(Indeed therefore this man obtained a field from the reward of his unrighteousness, and having become headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
19 Ficou conhecido de todos que viviam em Jerusalém que em sua língua esse campo era chamado de “Akeldama”, ou seja, “O campo de sangue”.
And it became known to all those dwelling at Jerusalem, so as to call that field in their own dialect, Akeldama, that is, The field of blood.)
20 Pois está escrito no livro de Salmos, “Que sua habitação seja desolada”. Que ninguém habite nela'. e, “Deixe outro tomar seu cargo”.
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation become desolate, and let no man be dwelling in it, and, Let another take his office.
21 “Dos homens, portanto, que nos acompanharam o tempo todo que o Senhor Jesus entrou e saiu entre nós,
It is necessary therefore, of the men who accompanied us during all the time during which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us,
22 desde o batismo de João até o dia em que ele foi recebido de nós, destes um deve se tornar testemunha conosco de sua ressurreição”.
having begun from the immersion of John to the day that he was taken up from us, for one of these to become a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 Eles apresentam dois: Joseph chamado Barsabbas, que também se chamava Justus, e Matthias.
And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 Eles oraram e disseram: “Tu, Senhor, que conheces os corações de todos os homens, mostra qual destes dois escolheste
And having prayed, they said, Thou, Lord, knowing the hearts of all men, show which one of these two thou have chosen
25 para participar deste ministério e apostolado do qual Judas se afastou, para que ele possa ir para seu próprio lugar”.
to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas transgressed to go to his own place.
26 Eles tiraram a sorte para eles, e a sorte caiu sobre Mathias; e ele foi contado com os onze apóstolos.
And they gave their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
