1 Depois disso, David bateu nos filisteus e os subjugou; e David tirou o freio da cidade mãe da mão dos filisteus.
After this it came about that David attacked the Philistines and defeated them. So David took Metheg Ammah from the control of the Philistines.
2 Ele derrotou Moab e os mediu com a linha, fazendo-os deitar no chão; e mediu duas linhas até a morte, e uma linha completa para se manterem vivos. Os moabitas se tornaram servos de David, e trouxeram tributo.
Then he defeated Moab and measured their men with a line by making them lie down on the ground. He measured off two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. So the Moabites became servants to David and began to pay him tribute.
3 David também atingiu Hadadezer, filho de Rehob, rei de Zobah, quando ele foi recuperar seu domínio no rio.
David then defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, the king of Zobah, as Hadadezer was traveling to recover his rule by the Euphrates River.
4 David tirou dele mil setecentos cavaleiros e vinte mil homens de pé. Davi empurrou os cavalos das carruagens, mas reservou o suficiente deles para cem carruagens.
David captured from him 1,700 chariots and twenty thousand footmen. David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for a hundred chariots.
5 Quando os sírios de Damasco vieram para ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobah, David atingiu vinte e dois mil homens dos sírios.
When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand Aramean men.
6 Então Davi colocou guarnições na Síria de Damasco; e os sírios se tornaram servos de Davi, e trouxeram tributo. Yahweh deu vitória a Davi onde quer que ele fosse.
Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became servants to him and brought him tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
7 David pegou os escudos de ouro que estavam sobre os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe para Jerusalém.
David took the golden shields that were on Hadadezer's servants and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 De Betah e de Berothai, cidades de Hadadezer, o rei Davi tomou uma grande quantidade de bronze.
From Tebah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.
9 Quando Toi, rei de Hamath, soube que David havia atingido todo o exército de Hadadezer,
When Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer,
10 então Toi enviou seu filho Jorão ao rei David para saudá-lo e abençoá-lo, pois ele havia lutado contra Hadadezer e batido nele; pois Hadadezer tinha guerras com Toi. Jorão trouxe com ele vasos de prata, vasos de ouro e vasos de bronze.
Tou sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because David had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, and because Hadadezer had waged war against Tou. Hadoram brought with himself objects of silver, gold, and bronze.
11 O rei David também os dedicou a Iavé, com a prata e o ouro que ele dedicou a todas as nações que ele subjugou -
King David set aside these objects to Yahweh, together with the silver and gold from all the nations that he conquered—
12 da Síria, dos Moab, dos filhos de Amon, dos filisteus, de Amalek, e do saque de Hadadezer, filho de Rehob, rei de Zobah.
from Aram, Moab, the people of Ammon, the Philistines, and Amalek, along with all of the plundered goods of Hadadezer son of Rehob, the king of Zobah.
13 David ganhou uma reputação quando retornou do ataque a dezoito mil homens dos sírios no Vale do Sal.
David's name was well known when he returned from conquering the Arameans in the Valley of Salt, with their eighteen thousand men.
14 Ele colocou guarnições em Edom. Em todos os Edom, ele colocou guarnições, e todos os Edomitas se tornaram servos de Davi. Yahweh deu vitória a David para onde quer que ele fosse.
He placed garrisons throughout all of Edom, and all the Edomites became servants to him. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
15 David reinou sobre todo Israel; e David executou justiça e retidão para todo o seu povo.
David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and righteousness to all his people.
16 Joabe, filho de Zeruia, estava sobre o exército, Jeosafá, filho de Ailude, era registrador,
Joab son of Zeruiah was the commander of the army, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder.
17 Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes, Seraías, escriba,
Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests, and Seraiah was scribe.
18 Benaías, filho de Jeoiada, estava sobre os queretitas e os peletitas; e os filhos de Davi eram ministros chefes.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in charge of the Kerethites and Pelethites, and David's sons were the chief officials at the king's hand.
