2 Samuel 16

1 Quando David estava um pouco além do topo, eis que Ziba, o criado de Mephibosheth, o encontrou com um par de burros selados, e sobre eles duzentos pães, cem cachos de passas, cem frutas de verão, e um recipiente de vinho.

When Dauid was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the seruant of Mephibosheth mette him with a couple of asses sadled, and vpon them two hundreth cakes of bread, and an hundreth bunches of raisins, and an hundreth of dryed figges, and a bottel of wine.

2 O rei disse a Ziba: “O que você quer dizer com isso?”. Ziba disse: “Os burros são para a casa do rei montar; e o pão e a fruta de verão para os jovens comerem; e o vinho, para que aqueles que estão desmaiados no deserto possam beber”.

And the King said vnto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, They be asses for the kings housholde to ride on, and bread and dryed figges for the yong men to eate, and wine, that the faint may drinke in the wildernesse.

3 O rei disse: “Onde está o filho de seu mestre?” Ziba disse ao rei: “Eis que ele está em Jerusalém; pois disse: 'Hoje a casa de Israel me restaurará o reino de meu pai'”.

And the king sayde, But where is thy masters sonne? Then Ziba answered the King, Beholde, he remayneth in Ierusalem: for he sayde, This day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdome of my father.

4 Então o rei disse a Ziba: “Eis que tudo o que pertence a Mephibosheth é seu”. Ziba disse: “Eu me curvo”. Deixai-me encontrar favor à vossa vista, meu senhor, ó rei”.

Then said the King to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that perteined vnto Mephibosheth. And Ziba saide, I beseech thee, let me finde grace in thy sight, my lord, O King.

5 Quando o rei Davi chegou a Bahurim, eis que saiu um homem da família da casa de Saul, cujo nome era Shimei, o filho de Gera. Ele saiu e praguejou ao vir.

And when king Dauid came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the familie of the house of Saul, named Shimei the sonne of Gera: and he came out, and cursed.

6 Ele atirou pedras em Davi e em todos os servos do rei Davi, e todo o povo e todos os homens poderosos estavam à sua direita e à sua esquerda.

And he cast stones at Dauid, and at all the seruants of King Dauid: and all the people, and all the men of warre were on his right hande, and on his left.

7 Shimei disse quando amaldiçoou: “Vai-te, vai-te, homem de sangue, e malvado!

And thus sayde Shimei when hee cursed, Come forth, come foorth thou murtherer, and wicked man.

8 Yahweh voltou sobre você todo o sangue da casa de Saul, em cujo lugar você reinou! Javé entregou o reino nas mãos de Absalão, seu filho! Eis que foste apanhado por tua própria maldade, porque és um homem de sangue”!

The Lord hath brought vpon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned: and the Lord hath deliuered thy kingdome into the hand of Absalom thy sonne: and beholde, thou art taken in thy wickednesse, because thou art a murtherer.

9 Então Abishai, filho de Zeruia, disse ao rei: “Por que este cão morto amaldiçoaria meu senhor, o rei? Por favor, deixe-me ir lá e tirar-lhe a cabeça”.

Then saide Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah vnto the King, Why doeth this dead dog curse my lord the King? let me goe, I pray thee, and take away his head.

10 O rei disse: “O que eu tenho a ver com vocês, filhos de Zeruia? Porque ele amaldiçoa, e porque Javé lhe disse: 'Amaldiçoa Davi', que então dirá: 'Por que vocês o fizeram?'”.

But the King saide, What haue I to doe with you, ye sonnes of Zeruiah? for he curseth, eue because the Lord hath bidden him curse Dauid: who dare then say, Wherfore hast thou done so?

11 David disse a Abishai e a todos os seus servos: “Eis que meu filho, que saiu de minhas entranhas, procura minha vida”. Quanto mais este Benjamita, agora? Deixe-o em paz e deixe-o amaldiçoar, pois Yahweh o convidou.

And Dauid sayd to Abishai, and to all his seruants, Beholde, my sonne which came out of mine owne bowels, seeketh my life: then howe much more now may this sonne of Iemini? Suffer him to curse: for the Lord hath bidden him.

12 Pode ser que Yahweh olhe para o mal feito a mim, e que Yahweh me pague bem pela maldição de mim hoje”.

It may be that the Lord will looke on mine affliction, and doe me good for his cursing this day.

13 Então David e seus homens foram pelo caminho; e Shimei foi pela encosta ao seu lado e amaldiçoou enquanto ele ia, atirou pedras sobre ele e jogou pó.

And as Dauid and his men went by the way, Shimei went by the side of the mountaine ouer against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones against him, and cast dust.

14 O rei e todas as pessoas que estavam com ele chegaram cansados; e ele se refrescou ali.

Then came the King and all the people that were with him wearie, and refreshed them selues there.

15 Absalom e todo o povo, os homens de Israel, vieram a Jerusalém, e Ahithophel com ele.

And Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Ierusalem, and Ahithophel with him.

16 Quando Hushai, o Arquiteto, amigo de Davi, veio a Absalom, Hushai disse a Absalom: “Viva o rei! Longa vida ao rei!”

And when Hushai the Archite Dauids friend was come vnto Absalom, Hushai said vnto Absalom, God saue the King, God saue the King.

17 Absalom disse a Hushai: “É esta sua gentileza para com seu amigo? Por que você não foi com seu amigo?”

Then Absalom sayd to Hushai, Is this thy kindenes to thy friend? Why wentest thou not with thy friend?

18 Hushai disse a Absalom: “Não; mas quem quer que Iavé e este povo e todos os homens de Israel tenham escolhido, eu serei dele, e ficarei com ele.

Hushai then answered vnto Absalom, Nay, but whome the Lord, and this people, and all the men of Israel chuse, his will I be, and with him will I dwell.

19 Novamente, a quem devo servir? Não deveria eu servir na presença de seu filho? Como tenho servido na presença de seu pai, assim estarei na sua presença”.

And moreouer vnto whome shall I doe seruice? not to his sonne? as I serued before thy father, so will I before thee.

20 Então Absalom disse a Ahithophel: “Dê a seu conselho o que devemos fazer”.

Then spake Absalom to Ahithophel, Giue counsell what we shall doe.

21 Ahithophel disse a Absalom: “Vá até as concubinas de seu pai que ele deixou para ficar com a casa”. Então todo Israel ouvirá que você é abominado por seu pai”. Então as mãos de todos que estão com você serão fortes”.

And Ahithophel said vnto Absalom, Goe in to thy fathers concubines, which he hath left to keepe the house: and when all Israel shall heare, that thou art abhorred of thy father, the hands of all that are with thee, shall be strong.

22 Assim, espalharam uma tenda para Absalom no topo da casa, e Absalom foi até as concubinas de seu pai, à vista de todo Israel.

So they spread Absalom a tent vpon the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his fathers concubines in the sight of all Israel.

23 O conselho de Ahithophel, que ele deu naqueles dias, era como se um homem fosse inquirido no santuário interior de Deus. Todos os conselhos de Ahithophel eram assim, tanto com David como com Absalom.

And the counsell of Ahithophel which he counseled in those dayes, was like as one had asked counsell at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with Dauid and with Absalom.
