2 Samuel 12
1 Yahweh enviou Nathan para David. Ele veio até ele e lhe disse: “Havia dois homens em uma cidade: um rico e o outro pobre.
And YHWH sends Nathan to David, and he comes to him, and says to him: “Two men have been in one city, one rich and one poor.
2 O homem rico tinha muitos rebanhos e rebanhos,
The rich has very many flocks and herds,
3 mas o homem pobre não tinha nada, exceto um cordeirinho de ovelha, que ele havia comprado e criado. Ele cresceu junto com ele e com seus filhos. Comia de sua própria comida, bebia de seu próprio copo, deitava-se em seu seio e era como uma filha para ele.
but the poor one has nothing, except one little ewe-lamb which he has bought and keeps alive. And it grows up together with him and with his sons. It eats of his morsel, and it drinks from his cup, and it lies in his bosom, and it is as a daughter to him.
4 Um viajante veio ao homem rico, e não queria pegar de seu próprio rebanho e de seu próprio rebanho para se preparar para o viajante que tinha vindo até ele, mas pegou o cordeiro do homem pobre e o preparou para o homem que tinha vindo até ele”.
And a traveler comes to the rich man, and he spares to take from his own flock, and from his own herd, to prepare for the traveling [man] who has come to him; and he takes the ewe-lamb of the poor man and prepares it for the man who has come to him.”
5 A raiva de David queimou quente contra o homem, e ele disse a Nathan: “Como Yahweh vive, o homem que fez isso merece morrer!
And the anger of David burns against the man exceedingly, and he says to Nathan, “YHWH lives, surely the man who is doing this [is] a son of death,
6 Ele deve restaurar o cordeiro quatro vezes, porque ele fez esta coisa e porque não teve piedade”!
and [for] the ewe-lamb he repays fourfold, because that he has done this thing, and because that he had no pity.”
7 Nathan disse a David: “Você é o homem! Isto é o que Javé, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Eu te ungi rei sobre Israel, e te livrei da mão de Saul”.
And Nathan says to David, “You [are] the man! Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: I anointed you for king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul;
8 Eu te dei a casa de teu senhor e as esposas de teu senhor em teu seio, e te dei a casa de Israel e de Judá; e se isso tivesse sido muito pouco, eu teria acrescentado a ti muitas outras coisas assim.
and I give to you the house of your lord, and the wives of your lord, into your bosom, and I give the house of Israel and Judah to you; and if [that is] too little, then I add such and such [things] to you.
9 Por que você desprezou a palavra de Javé, para fazer o que é mau aos olhos dele? Você golpeou Urias, o hitita, com a espada, tomou sua esposa para ser sua esposa e o matou com a espada dos filhos de Amon.
Why have you despised the word of YHWH, to do evil in His eyes? You have struck Uriah the Hittite by the sword, and you have taken his wife for a wife for yourself, and you have slain him by the sword of the sons of Ammon.
10 Agora, portanto, a espada nunca sairá de sua casa, porque você me desprezou e tomou Uriah, a esposa do hitita, para ser sua esposa'.
And now, the sword does not turn aside from your house for all time, because you have despised Me, and take the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be for a wife for yourself;
11 “Isto é o que diz Javé: “Eis que levantarei o mal contra ti de tua própria casa; e tomarei tuas esposas diante de teus olhos e as darei ao teu próximo, e ele se deitará com tuas esposas à vista deste sol”.
thus said YHWH: Behold, I am raising up calamity against you, out of your [own] house, and have taken your wives before your eyes, and given [them] to your neighbor, and he has lain with your wives before the eyes of this sun;
12 Pois fizestes isto em segredo, mas farei isto diante de todo Israel, e diante do sol”.
for you have done [it] in secret, and I do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.”
13 David disse a Nathan: “Eu pequei contra Yahweh”. Nathan disse a David: “Yahweh também afastou seu pecado. Você não vai morrer.
And David says to Nathan, “I have sinned against YHWH.” And Nathan says to David, “Also—YHWH has caused your sin to pass away; you do not die;
14 Entretanto, porque com este ato você deu grande ocasião aos inimigos de Yahweh de blasfemar, a criança que nasceu para você certamente morrerá”.
only, because you have caused the enemies of YHWH to greatly despise by this thing, also—the son who is born to you surely dies.”
15 Então Nathan partiu para sua casa. Yahweh atingiu a criança que a esposa de Uriah aborreceu para David, e ele estava muito doente.
And Nathan goes to his house, and YHWH strikes the boy, whom the wife of Uriah has borne to David, and it is incurable;
16 David, portanto, implorou a Deus pela criança; e David jejuou, e entrou e passou a noite no chão.
and David seeks God for the youth, and David keeps a fast, and has gone in and lodged, and lain on the earth.
17 Os anciãos de sua casa se levantaram ao seu lado, para criá-lo da terra; mas ele não quis, e não comeu pão com eles.
And [the] elderly of his house rise against him, to raise him up from the earth, and he has not been willing, nor has he eaten bread with them;
18 No sétimo dia, a criança morreu. Os criados de David tiveram medo de dizer-lhe que a criança estava morta, pois disseram: “Eis que, enquanto a criança ainda estava viva, nós falamos com ele e ele não escutou nossa voz”. Como ele então se machucará se lhe dissermos que a criança está morta”?
and it comes to pass on the seventh day, that the boy dies, and the servants of David fear to declare to him that the boy is dead, for they said, “Behold, in the boy being alive we spoke to him, and he did not listen to our voice; and how do we say to him, The boy is dead? Then he has done evil.”
19 Mas quando David viu que seus criados estavam sussurrando juntos, David percebeu que a criança estava morta; e David disse a seus criados: “A criança está morta”? Eles disseram: “Ele está morto”.
And David sees that his servants are whispering, and David understands that the boy is dead, and David says to his servants, “Is the boy dead?” And they say, “Dead.”
20 Então David levantou-se da terra, lavou-se e ungiu-se, e mudou de roupa; e entrou na casa de Yahweh, e adorou. Depois veio para sua própria casa; e quando pediu, puseram pão diante dele e ele comeu.
And David rises from the earth, and bathes and anoints [himself], and changes his raiment, and comes into the house of YHWH, and bows himself, and comes to his house, and asks and they place bread for him, and he eats.
21 Então seus servos lhe disseram: “O que é isso que você fez? Você jejuou e chorou pela criança enquanto ela estava viva, mas quando a criança estava morta, você se levantou e comeu pão”.
And his servants say to him, “What [is] this thing you have done? Because of the living boy you have fasted and you weep, and when the boy is dead you have risen and eat bread.”
22 Ele disse: “Enquanto a criança ainda estava viva, eu jejuei e chorei; pois eu disse: 'Quem sabe se Yahweh não será gracioso comigo, para que a criança possa viver?
And he says, “While the boy is alive I have fasted and I weep, for I said, Who knows [if] YHWH pities me and the boy has lived?
23 Mas agora ele está morto. Por que eu deveria jejuar? Posso trazê-lo de volta? Eu irei até ele, mas ele não voltará para mim”.
And now, he has died, why [is] this—I fast? Am I able to bring him back again? I am going to him, and he does not return to me.”
24 David confortou Betsabá sua esposa, e foi até ela, e deitou-se com ela. Ela deu à luz um filho, e ele chamou-o de Salomão. Javé o amava;
And David comforts his wife Bathsheba, and goes in to her, and lies with her, and she bears a son, and he calls his name Solomon; and YHWH has loved him,
25 e enviou pela mão de Natã o profeta, e lhe deu o nome de Jedidias, em nome de Javé.
and sends by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and calls his name Jedidiah, because of YHWH.
26 Now Joab lutou contra Rabbah das crianças de Ammon, e tomou a cidade real.
And Joab fights against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, and captures the royal city,
27 Joab enviou mensageiros a David, e disse: “Eu lutei contra Rabbah”. Sim, eu tomei a cidade das águas.
and Joab sends messengers to David and says, “I have fought against Rabbah—I have also captured the city of waters;
28 Agora, portanto, reúnam o resto do povo, acampem-se contra a cidade e tomem-na; para que eu não tome a cidade, e ela seja chamada pelo meu nome”.
and now, gather the rest of the people, and encamp against the city, and capture it, lest I capture the city, and my name has been called on it.”
29 David reuniu todo o povo e foi para Rabbah, lutou contra ela e a levou.
And David gathers all the people, and goes to Rabbah, and fights against it, and captures it;
30 Ele tirou a coroa do rei deles de sua cabeça; e seu peso era um talento de ouro, e nele havia pedras preciosas; e foi colocado na cabeça de Davi. Ele trouxe uma grande quantidade de pilhagem para fora da cidade.
and he takes the crown of their king from off his head, and its weight [is] a talent of gold, and precious stones, and it is on the head of David; and he has brought out the spoil of the city—very much;
31 Ele trouxe para fora as pessoas que estavam nela, e as colocou para trabalhar sob serras, sob picaretas de ferro, sob eixos de ferro, e as fez ir para o forno de tijolos; e o fez para todas as cidades das crianças de Ammon. Então Davi e todo o povo retornaram a Jerusalém.
and he has brought out the people who [are] in it, and sets [them] to the saw, and to cutting instruments of iron, and to axes of iron, and has caused them to pass over into the brick-kiln; and so he does to all the cities of the sons of Ammon; and David turns back, and all the people, to Jerusalem.
