2 Reis 24

1 Em seus dias surgiu Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e Jehoiakim tornou-se seu servo por três anos. Então ele se voltou e se rebelou contra ele.

In his days came up Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and Jehoyakim became his servant for three years: and then he returned and rebelled against him.

2 Javé enviou contra ele bandas dos caldeus, bandas dos sírios, bandas dos moabitas e bandas das crianças de Amon, e os enviou contra Judá para destruí-lo, de acordo com a palavra de Javé, que ele falou por seus servos, os profetas.

And the Lord sent against him predatory bands of the Chaldeans, and predatory bands of the Syrians, and predatory bands of the Moabites, and predatory bands of the children of 'Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by means of his servants the prophets.

3 Certamente por ordem de Javé isto veio sobre Judá, para tirá-los de sua vista pelos pecados de Manassés, segundo tudo o que ele fez,

But only at the order of the Lord came this upon Judah, to remove the same out of his sight, for the sins of Menasseh, in accordance with all that he had done;

4 e também pelo sangue inocente que derramou; pois ele encheu Jerusalém de sangue inocente, e Javé não perdoaria.

And also for the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; wherefore the Lord would not pardon.

5 Agora o resto dos atos de Jeoiaquim, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoyakim, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.

6 So Jehoiakim dormiu com seus pais, e Jehoiachin, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

And Jehoyakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoyachin his son became king in his stead.

7 O rei do Egito não saiu mais de sua terra; pois o rei da Babilônia havia levado, do riacho do Egito ao rio Eufrates, tudo o que pertencia ao rei do Egito.

And the king of Egypt came no more again out of his land; for the king of Babylon had taken from the brook of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that had pertained to the king of Egypt.

8 Jehoiachin tinha dezoito anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém três meses. O nome de sua mãe era Nehushta, filha de Elnatã de Jerusalém.

Eighteen years old was Jehoyachin when he became king, and three months did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Nechushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

9 Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Javé, de acordo com tudo o que seu pai havia feito.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, all just as that his father had done.

10 Naquele tempo os servos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, subiram a Jerusalém, e a cidade foi sitiada.

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was put in a state of siege.

11 Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, veio à cidade enquanto seus servos a sitiavam,

And Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came against the city, while his servants were besieging it.

12 e Jeoiaquim, rei de Judá, foi ter com o rei da Babilônia - ele, sua mãe, seus servos, seus príncipes e seus oficiais; e o rei da Babilônia o capturou no oitavo ano de seu reinado.

And Jehoyachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his court-officers: and the king of Babylon took him [captive] in the eighth year of his reign.

13 Ele realizou de lá todos os tesouros da casa de Iavé e os tesouros da casa do rei, e cortou em pedaços todos os vasos de ouro que Salomão, rei de Israel, tinha feito no templo de Iavé, como Iavé tinha dito.

And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon the king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, as the Lord had spoken.

14 Ele levou toda Jerusalém, e todos os príncipes, e todos os poderosos homens de valor, mesmo dez mil cativos, e todos os artesãos e ferreiros. Não ficou ninguém, exceto os mais pobres da terra.

And he led away as exiles all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand exiles, and all the craftsmen and locksmiths: there was none left, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

15 Ele levou Joaquim para a Babilônia, com a mãe do rei, as esposas do rei, seus oficiais e os principais homens da terra. Ele os levou para o cativeiro de Jerusalém para a Babilônia.

And he led away Jehoyachin as exile to Babylon; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his court-officers, and the mighty men of the land, he led into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

16 Todos os homens de poder, mesmo sete mil, e os artesãos e ferreiros mil, todos eles fortes e aptos para a guerra, até mesmo eles o rei da Babilônia trouxe cativos para a Babilônia.

And all the men of might, seven thousand [in number], and the craftsmen and the locksmiths a thousand [in number], all strong men, apt for war; and the king of Babylon brought them into exile to Babylon.

17 O rei da Babilônia fez de Matanias, irmão do pai de Joaquim, rei em seu lugar, e mudou seu nome para Zedequias.

And the king of Babylon made Mattanyah his uncle king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

18 Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias de Libnah.

Twenty and one years old was Zedekiah when he became king, and eleven years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Chamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

19 Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Javé, de acordo com tudo o que Jehoiaquim tinha feito.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, all just as Jehoyakim had done.

20 Pois através da ira de Iavé, isto aconteceu em Jerusalém e Judá, até que ele os expulsou de sua presença. Então Zedequias se rebelou contra o rei da Babilônia.

For through the anger of the Lord it occurred in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
