2 Crônicas 18

1 Agora Jehoshaphat tinha riquezas e honra em abundância; e ele se aliou a Ahab.

And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.

2 Depois de alguns anos, ele foi para Ahab, para Samaria. Ahab matou ovelhas e gado para ele em abundância, e para as pessoas que estavam com ele, e o levou a subir com ele para Ramoth Gilead.

And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.

3 Acabe, rei de Israel, disse a Jehoshaphat, rei de Judá: “Você irá comigo para Ramoth Gilead? Ele lhe respondeu: “Eu sou como você é, e meu povo como seu povo”. Estaremos com vocês na guerra”.

And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.

4 Jehoshaphat disse ao rei de Israel: “Por favor, pergunte primeiro pela palavra de Yahweh”.

And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.

5 Então o rei de Israel reuniu os profetas, quatrocentos homens, e disse-lhes: “Devemos ir a Ramoth Gilead para a batalha, ou devo eu deixar de suportar? Eles disseram: “Suba, pois Deus o entregará nas mãos do rei”.

Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.

6 Mas Jehoshaphat disse: “Não há aqui além disso um profeta de Javé, para que possamos inquiri-lo?”

But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?

7 O rei de Israel disse a Jeosafá: “Ainda há um homem por quem podemos perguntar a Javé; mas eu o odeio, pois ele nunca profetiza o bem a meu respeito, mas sempre o mal”. Ele é Micaías, o filho de Inlá”. Jehoshaphat disse: “Não deixe o rei dizer isso”.

And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.

8 Então o rei de Israel chamou um oficial e disse: “Traga rapidamente Micaías, o filho de Imla”.

And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.

9 Now o rei de Israel e Jeosafá o rei de Judá sentaram-se cada um em seu trono, vestidos com suas vestes, e estavam sentados em um lugar aberto na entrada do portão de Samaria; e todos os profetas profetizavam diante deles.

And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.

10 Zedequias, filho de Chenaaná, fez-se chifres de ferro e disse: “Javé diz: 'Com estes empurrarás os sírios, até que sejam consumidos'”.

And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.

11 Todos os profetas profetizaram assim, dizendo: “Subam a Ramoth Gilead, e prosperem; pois Yahweh a entregará nas mãos do rei”.

And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.

12 O mensageiro que foi chamar Micaías falou com ele, dizendo: “Eis que as palavras dos profetas declaram o bem ao rei com uma só boca”. Que sua palavra, portanto, seja como uma delas, e fale bem”.

And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.

13 Micaiah disse: “Como Yahweh vive, direi o que meu Deus diz”.

And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.

14 Quando ele chegou ao rei, o rei lhe disse: “Micaías, vamos a Ramoth Gilead para a batalha, ou devo eu resistir? Ele disse: “Suba, e prospere. Eles serão entregues em suas mãos”.

So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.

15 O rei lhe disse: “Quantas vezes te conjuro que não fales comigo senão a verdade em nome de Iavé”?

And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?

16 Ele disse: “Eu vi todo Israel espalhado pelas montanhas, como ovelhas que não têm pastor”. Yahweh disse: “Estas não têm dono”. Que cada um deles volte para sua casa em paz”.

Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.

17 O rei de Israel disse a Jehoshaphat: “Eu não te disse que ele não profetizaria o bem a meu respeito, mas o mal?”

And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?

18 Micaías disse: “Portanto, ouçam a palavra de Javé: Vi Javé sentado em seu trono, e todo o exército do céu de pé à sua direita e à sua esquerda.

Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.

19 Yahweh disse: “Quem vai atrair Ahab, rei de Israel, para que ele suba e caia em Ramoth Gilead? Um falou dizendo desta maneira, e outro dizendo desta maneira.

And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.

20 Um espírito saiu, apresentou-se diante de Javé, e disse: 'Eu o seduzirei'. “Yahweh disse a ele, 'Como?

Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?

21 “Ele disse: “Eu irei e serei um espírito mentiroso na boca de todos os seus profetas”. “Ele disse: 'Vocês o seduzirão e prevalecerão também. Ide e fazei-o”.

And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.

22 “Agora, portanto, eis que Javé pôs um espírito mentiroso na boca destes vossos profetas; e Javé falou mal de vós”.

Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.

23 Então Zedequias, filho de Chenaaná, aproximou-se e bateu na bochecha de Micaías, e disse: “Para que lado o Espírito de Javé foi de mim para falar com você?

Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?

24 Micaiah disse: “Eis que vereis naquele dia, quando entrardes em uma sala interior para vos esconderdes”.

And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.

25 O rei de Israel disse: “Pegue Micaías e leve-o de volta para Amon, o governador da cidade, e para Joás, filho do rei;

And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,

26 e diga: 'O rei diz: “Ponha este companheiro na prisão e alimente-o com pão de aflição e com água de aflição, até que eu volte em paz'”.

And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.

27 Micaiah disse: “Se você voltar em paz, Yahweh não falou por mim”. Ele disse: “Ouçam, vocês, todos vocês!”

And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.

28 Então o rei de Israel e Jeosafá, rei de Judá, subiram a Ramoth Gilead.

So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.

29 O rei de Israel disse a Jeosafá: “Eu me disfarçarei e irei para a batalha; mas vocês vestem suas vestes”. Então, o rei de Israel se disfarçou; e eles foram para a batalha.

And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.

30 Agora o rei da Síria havia comandado os capitães de suas carruagens, dizendo: “Não lute com pequenos ou grandes, exceto apenas com o rei de Israel”.

And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.

31 Quando os capitães das carruagens viram Jehoshaphat, disseram: “É o rei de Israel”! Por isso, voltaram-se para lutar contra ele. Mas Jeosafá gritou, e Javé o ajudou; e Deus os levou a se afastarem dele.

And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.

32 Quando os capitães das carruagens viram que não era o rei de Israel, voltaram atrás, deixando de persegui-lo.

For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.

33 Um certo homem desenhou seu arco ao acaso, e atingiu o rei de Israel entre as articulações da armadura. Por isso ele disse ao motorista da carruagem: “Vire-se e me leve para fora da batalha, pois estou gravemente ferido”.

Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.

34 A batalha aumentou naquele dia. Entretanto, o rei de Israel se apoiou em sua carruagem contra os sírios até a noite; e por volta do pôr-do-sol, ele morreu.

And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
