1 Samuel 2
1 Hannah rezou, e disse, “Meu coração exulta em Yahweh! Meu chifre é exaltado em Yahweh. Minha boca está dilatada sobre meus inimigos, porque me regozijo com a sua salvação.
At that time Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the LORD in whom my horn is exalted. My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, for I rejoice in Your salvation.
2 Não há ninguém tão santo como Yahweh, pois não há ninguém além de você, nem existe nenhuma rocha como nosso Deus.
There is no one holy like the LORD. Indeed, there is no one besides You! And there is no Rock like our God.
3 “Não continue falando de forma tão orgulhosa. Não deixe que a arrogância saia de sua boca, pois Yahweh é um Deus de conhecimento. Por ele, as ações são pesadas.
Do not boast so proudly, or let arrogance come from your mouth, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by Him actions are weighed.
4 “Os arcos dos homens poderosos estão quebrados. Aqueles que tropeçaram estão armados com força.
The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble are equipped with strength.
5 Aqueles que estavam cheios se alugaram para o pão. Aqueles que estavam com fome estão satisfeitos. Sim, a árida suportou sete. Ela, que tem muitos filhos, definha.
The well-fed hire themselves out for food, but the starving hunger no more. The barren woman gives birth to seven, but she who has many sons pines away.
The LORD brings death and gives life; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. (Sheol h7585)
7 Yahweh faz pobre e faz rico. Ele traz baixo, ele também se eleva.
The LORD sends poverty and wealth; He humbles and He exalts.
8 Ele levanta os pobres da poeira. Ele levanta os necessitados do monte de estrume para fazê-los sentar com príncipes e herdar o trono da glória. Pois os pilares da terra são os de Yahweh. Ele colocou o mundo sobre eles.
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. He seats them among princes and bestows on them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s, and upon them He has set the world.
9 Ele manterá os pés de seus santos, mas os ímpios serão colocados em silêncio na escuridão; pois nenhum homem prevalecerá pela força.
He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail.
10 Aqueles que lutam com Yahweh serão despedaçados. Ele vai trovejar contra eles no céu. “Yahweh julgará os confins da terra”. Ele dará força ao seu rei, e exaltar o chifre de seu ungido”.
Those who oppose the LORD will be shattered. He will thunder from heaven against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth and will give power to His king. He will exalt the horn of His anointed.”
11 Elkanah foi a Ramah para sua casa. A criança serviu a Yahweh antes de Eli, o padre.
Then Elkanah went home to Ramah, but the boy began ministering to the LORD before Eli the priest.
12 Now os filhos de Eli eram homens perversos. Eles não conheciam Yahweh.
Now the sons of Eli were wicked men; they had no regard for the LORD
13 O costume dos sacerdotes com o povo era que quando alguém oferecia um sacrifício, o servo do sacerdote vinha enquanto a carne fervia, com um garfo de três dentes na mão;
or for the custom of the priests with the people. When any man offered a sacrifice, the servant of the priest would come with a three-pronged meat fork while the meat was boiling
14 e ele o apunhalava na panela, ou chaleira, ou caldeirão, ou panela. O padre pegou tudo o que o garfo trouxe para si. Fizeram isso com todos os israelitas que vieram para Shiloh.
and plunge it into the pan or kettle or cauldron or cooking pot. And the priest would claim for himself whatever the meat fork brought up. This is how they treated all the Israelites who came to Shiloh.
15 Sim, antes que queimassem a gordura, veio o servo do sacerdote, e disse ao homem que se sacrificou: “Dê carne para assar para o sacerdote; pois ele não aceitará carne cozida de você, mas crua”.
Even before the fat was burned, the servant of the priest would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, “Give the priest some meat to roast, because he will not accept boiled meat from you, but only raw.”
16 Se o homem lhe dissesse: “Queime primeiro a gordura e depois leve o quanto sua alma desejar;” então ele diria: “Não, mas você a dará agora; e se não, eu a levarei pela força”.
And if any man said to him, “The fat must be burned first; then you may take whatever you want,” the servant would reply, “No, you must give it to me right now. If you refuse, I will take it by force!”
17 O pecado dos jovens era muito grande antes de Yahweh; pois os homens desprezavam a oferta de Yahweh.
Thus the sin of these young men was severe in the sight of the LORD, for they were treating the LORD’s offering with contempt.
18 Mas Samuel ministrou antes de Iavé, sendo uma criança, vestida com um éfode de linho.
Now Samuel was ministering before the LORD—a boy wearing a linen ephod.
19 Moreover sua mãe lhe fez um roupãozinho e o trouxe de ano em ano, quando ela veio com seu marido para oferecer o sacrifício anual.
Each year his mother would make him a little robe and bring it to him when she went with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice.
20 Eli abençoou Elkanah e sua esposa, e disse: “Que Yahweh lhe dê descendência desta mulher para a petição que foi pedida a Yahweh”. Então eles foram para sua própria casa.
And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, “May the LORD give you children by this woman in place of the one she dedicated to the LORD.” Then they would go home.
21 Yahweh visitou Hannah, e ela concebeu e deu à luz três filhos e duas filhas. A criança Samuel cresceu antes de Yahweh.
So the LORD attended to Hannah, and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the LORD.
22 Agora Eli era muito velho; e ouvia tudo o que seus filhos faziam com todo Israel, e como dormiam com as mulheres que serviam à porta da Tenda da Reunião.
Now Eli was very old, and he heard about everything his sons were doing to all Israel and how they were sleeping with the women who served at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
23 Ele disse a elas: “Por que vocês fazem tais coisas? Pois ouvi falar de seus maus tratos por parte de todas essas pessoas.
“Why are you doing these things?” Eli said to his sons. “I hear about your wicked deeds from all these people.
24 Não, meus filhos; pois não é um bom relatório que ouço! Vocês fazem o povo de Yahweh desobedecer.
No, my sons; it is not a good report I hear circulating among the LORD’s people.
25 Se um homem pecar contra outro, Deus o julgará; mas se um homem pecar contra Javé, quem intercederá por ele?”. Não obstante, eles não ouviram a voz de seu pai, porque Yahweh pretendia matá-los.
If a man sins against another man, God can intercede for him; but if a man sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to their father, since the LORD intended to put them to death.
26 A criança Samuel cresceu, e aumentou a favor tanto com Yahweh quanto com os homens.
And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the LORD and with man.
27 Um homem de Deus veio a Eli e lhe disse: “Javé diz: 'Será que eu me revelei à casa de seu pai quando eles estavam no Egito em cativeiro à casa do Faraó?
Then a man of God came to Eli and told him, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Did I not clearly reveal Myself to your father’s house when they were in Egypt under Pharaoh’s house?
28 Didn'Não o escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel para ser meu sacerdote, para subir ao meu altar, para queimar incenso, para usar um éfode diante de mim? Eu não dei à casa de seu pai todas as ofertas dos filhos de Israel feitas pelo fogo?
And out of all the tribes of Israel I selected your father to be My priest, to offer sacrifices on My altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod in My presence. I also gave to the house of your father all the offerings of the Israelites made by fire.
29 Por que chutais ao meu sacrifício e à minha oferta, que ordenei em minha habitação, e honrais vossos filhos acima de mim, para vos fazerdes gordos com o melhor de todas as ofertas de Israel, meu povo”
Why then do you kick at My sacrifice and offering that I have prescribed for My dwelling place? You have honored your sons more than Me by fattening yourselves with the best of all the offerings of My people Israel.’
30 “Portanto, Javé, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Eu disse, de fato, que vossa casa e a casa de vosso pai deveriam caminhar diante de mim para sempre”. Mas agora Javé diz: “Longe de mim; pois aqueles que me honram, eu os honrarei, e aqueles que me desprezam serão amaldiçoados”.
Therefore, the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever. But now the LORD declares: Far be it from Me! For I will honor those who honor Me, but those who despise Me will be disdained.
31 Eis que vêm os dias em que cortarei seu braço e o braço da casa de seu pai, para que não haja um homem velho em sua casa.
Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that no older man will be left in your house.
32 Você verá a aflição de minha habitação, em toda a riqueza que eu vou dar a Israel. Não haverá um homem velho em sua casa para sempre.
You will see distress in My dwelling place. Despite all that is good in Israel, no one in your house will ever again reach old age.
33 O homem de vocês que eu não cortar de meu altar consumirá seus olhos e chorará seu coração. Todo o aumento de sua casa morrerá na flor da idade deles.
And every one of you that I do not cut off from My altar, your eyes will fail and your heart will grieve. All your descendants will die by the sword of men.
34 Este será o sinal para você que virá sobre seus dois filhos, sobre Hophni e Phinehas: em um dia, ambos morrerão.
And this sign shall come to you concerning your two sons Hophni and Phinehas: They will both die on the same day.
35 Eu levantarei para mim um padre fiel que fará de acordo com o que está em meu coração e em minha mente. Construirei para ele uma casa segura. Ele andará para sempre diante do meu ungido.
Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest. He will do whatever is in My heart and mind. And I will build for him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed one for all time.
36 Acontecerá que todos que ficarem em sua casa virão e se curvarão diante dele por um pedaço de prata e um pão, e dirão: “Por favor, coloque-me em um dos escritórios dos sacerdotes, para que eu possa comer um pedaço de pão””.
And everyone left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver or a morsel of bread, pleading, “Please appoint me to some priestly office so that I can eat a piece of bread.”’”
